Spy Wars: Strong Agents Who Are Ruthless and Talk Little
Chapter 485 Keep it in mind
I am alone and don't have many choices.
"You want me to believe you?" Su Ming frowned and said coldly, "What reason can you give me?"
"I can give you a chance," the man finally spoke, a sharp glint in his eyes. "You don't want to die here, trapped in this darkness forever, do you? If you're willing to listen to me, I can help you infiltrate their inner circle."
Su Ming's heart trembled. Infiltrating the enemy? This was undoubtedly a dangerous proposal, even a crazy one. However, if he didn't do this, his survival would be virtually unprotected. The number of enemies before him was increasing, and time did not allow him to hesitate any longer.
"Infiltrate?" Su Ming took a deep breath, his eyes becoming calmer. "Do you know what this means? If we're discovered, our fate will be even worse."
"I know." The man nodded, his eyes firm. "But you also know that if we don't make any changes now, our only outcome will be death here."
Su Ming's mind raced through a series of thoughts, and he made a nearly instantaneous decision. He knew he had no other choice. The enemy was closing in, and waiting would be tantamount to suicide. His only chance was to rely on the man before him, infiltrate the enemy's interior, and secure a glimmer of hope.
"Okay." Su Ming took a deep breath, his eyes becoming firm. "I believe you this time."
The man nodded, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes, but he quickly hid it. "Follow me."
Su Ming said nothing more. He followed the man into a narrow passage. The air was filled with a damp, musty smell, and darkness surrounded them. Each step was taken with great caution, making almost no sound. Su Ming's heartbeat was still pounding, but he no longer hesitated. At this moment, he had only one goal: to infiltrate the enemy, find an opportunity, and complete the mission.
As they passed through one narrow passage after another, Su Ming's heart grew heavier. He knew that everything before him was fraught with danger, and every step could be fatal. Zheng Yaoxian's voice kept echoing in his mind: "Stay calm, Su Ming, stay calm."
However, despite his efforts to calm himself, the anxiety within him remained steadfast. Whenever he heard footsteps in the distance, he would stop unconsciously and gaze nervously around. He knew he had no way back; he had no choice but to move forward, to keep going.
"Are you sure this road is safe?" Su Ming asked in a low voice, with a hint of uneasiness in his voice.
The man turned around, his eyes still calm. "This is our only way. We have no choice but to take this path."
Su Ming said nothing more; he could only continue to follow the man. As they walked deeper and deeper, the darkness around them seemed more oppressive, and the humidity in the air made it increasingly difficult to breathe. He took every step carefully, fearing that he would step on something that would make a sound and expose their whereabouts.
"What exactly do you mean by infiltration?" Su Ming finally couldn't help asking, his voice low and nervous.
The man turned around and looked at him, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes. "You don't want to know too much, Su Ming. You just need to do what you should do, and leave the rest to me."
"I know." Su Ming nodded. Although he was filled with doubts, he understood that he had no choice in his current situation. He could only trust the man before him and rely on his guidance.
After walking for about ten minutes, the passage gradually widened, and an iron gate could be vaguely seen ahead. The man stopped, turned around, and whispered to Su Ming, "We're here."
Su Ming stared nervously at the iron gate, his heart beating rapidly. He knew that every step he took could determine his life or death.
"Go in." the man ordered in a low voice.
The iron door creaked open, and Su Ming's heartbeat quickened, his every sense heightened. An oppressive atmosphere hung in the air, and the dim light barely illuminated the corridor ahead. The man didn't enter immediately, but gestured for Su Ming to proceed. Su Ming's eyes quickly scanned the surroundings, sensing a strong sense of urgency. He knew that every step he took could mean the difference between life and death.
He took a deep breath and swiftly stepped inside, his movements like a shadow, light and swift. Each step was incredibly light, as if no force was making contact with the ground. He knew that any slight sound could reveal their position, so each step required extreme precision, as if the air itself were making way for him.
The corridor was flanked by sealed rooms. Su Ming didn't dare to be careless, his gaze lingering on each door with a wary gaze. Behind each door lay a potential threat, perhaps even an enemy surveillance point. Su Ming's mind rapidly calculated possible routes, his heartbeat pounding like a drum in his chest, and every move he made was tinged with unquestionable determination.
"Follow closely." The man whispered, with a hint of urgency in his voice.
Su Ming didn't respond, knowing that silence was the best option at the moment. The two walked side by side through the narrow corridor, Su Ming's heart tightening with every step. His thoughts weren't entirely focused on the road ahead; some of them were still recollecting the previous conversation. What was that person's motive? Could he trust this person? These questions lingered in Su Ming's mind, but he knew he didn't have time to dwell on them right now. Trust or not was no longer his decision; every second counted, making the difference between life and death.
They passed through several doors and entered a spacious room. In the center stood a large table, scattered with documents and instruments. The air in the room was cold and heavy. Su Ming's eyes quickly scanned the room, instantly analyzing the layout, taking in every detail. He memorized every detail, including the security cameras at the door and the cameras on the wall.
"We have to hurry." The man warned in a low voice, a hint of anxiety in his eyes, "They will soon realize we are gone."
Su Ming nodded, and in tacit agreement, they walked towards the passage in the corner of the room. That passage led to a deeper area, and he had to obtain as much useful information as possible before the enemy noticed. The two walked side by side to the end of the passage, every inch of Su Ming's muscles tensed, ready to respond to any unexpected situation at any time.
Just as they were about to cross the passage, they heard hurried footsteps. Su Ming's body stiffened instantly, his brow furrowed. He quickly stopped and looked down at the man, a flicker of nervousness in his eyes.
