Spy Wars: Strong Agents Who Are Ruthless and Talk Little
The Threat Brought by Chapter 476
Su Ming's fingers clenched around the tool, anxiety and anger mingling within him. A thought flashed through his mind—no matter what, he couldn't let this man control him. He had to find an opportunity to strike back, escape, or even turn defeat into victory.
He took a deep breath, his gaze becoming resolute. Although the situation was still full of variables, he knew that the only thing he could do was to meet the challenge and never give in easily.
Su Ming's mind raced, a chaotic yet incredibly clear mind. The situation before him had deviated from his initial assumptions, and every decision was fraught with risk. But he didn't have time to dwell on it. The door behind him had been shut, and the world beyond was unknown. The only thing he could do now was to keep going, to dive deeper, to find Zheng Yaoxian and uncover the truth behind everything.
He took a deep breath and looked back at the dark passage behind him. The air was filled with a musty, damp smell that made him want to avoid it, but Su Ming knew there was no turning back. He had come too far and could not stop here. Every step was fraught with danger, but he had no choice but to move forward.
"Sneak in and find Zheng Yaoxian," he told himself silently, trying to focus his thoughts. Every deep breath he took brought a sense of clarity. Although he still felt a great deal of pressure, his calmness and determination gradually prevailed.
At this moment, he stood before a heavy iron door. A series of muffled voices echoed from the other side. Su Ming didn't act rashly. Instead, he stood quietly, his ear pressed against the door, straining to listen for any movement within. Every second of waiting weighed heavily on his heart. Zheng Yaoxian's image reverberated in his mind—the man who had fought alongside him, the man who always calmly analyzed situations and made decisions in crucial moments. His whereabouts now posed the greatest mystery to Su Ming.
"Where is he? Is he also trapped somewhere?" Su Ming couldn't help but feel a sense of anxiety. He knew that time was ticking away, and he might have been targeted by the enemy, exposing his whereabouts at any moment. But no matter what, he couldn't stop.
He gently pushed open the iron door and entered a dim corridor. A few weak bulbs hung on the walls on either side of the corridor, emitting a dim glow that added a layer of oppressive atmosphere to the entire space. The air was filled with a stale smell, as if no one had been here for a long time. Su Ming frowned slightly, feeling a little uneasy, but he knew he didn't have time to linger any longer.
He walked quietly, trying not to make any noise with each step. Even though he had been in this environment for a long time, he still couldn't fully adapt to the oppressive atmosphere. The darkness, silence, and oppression constantly intertwined in his heart, making him feel an invisible threat.
"If this is truly an enemy base, then Zheng Yaoxian should be here too," Su Ming silently analyzed. He knew his mission now wasn't just to find Zheng Yaoxian, but also to uncover the secrets hidden within this place. Every step was filled with uncertainty, but he had no choice but to keep moving forward.
As he went deeper, the corridor grew narrower and the air thicker. From the far end, a whisper emanated, as if two people were conversing. Su Ming stopped and leaned against the wall, trying to hide in the shadows. He held his breath and listened carefully.
"He's coming." A low voice suddenly sounded, and Su Ming's heart skipped a beat, almost frightened to the point of stopping.
"Are you sure?" Another voice sounded doubtful, obviously skeptical about the situation ahead.
"I'm sure." The first voice confirmed again, his tone full of confidence.
Su Ming's heartbeat quickened as his mind rapidly analyzed the conversation between the two men. Clearly, they were discussing him. He didn't miss a single word, his heart filled with alarm. The enemy was aware of his presence, so he had to be even more cautious.
"What should I do?" Su Ming asked himself. Clearly, he had been exposed, but if he retreated now, he would probably find himself in even greater trouble. He had to act decisively and not give the enemy any time to react.
He made a quick decision - sneak inside, get as close to the two people as possible, and find out their identities and intentions. In any case, he couldn't let himself lose the initiative.
Su Ming quietly rounded the corner of the corridor, feeling his way along the wall. He tried to make no sound with every step he took. His heart nearly beat out of his chest, the tense atmosphere making every nerve tense.
Finally, he reached a corner and saw two people standing before him. Su Ming held his breath and approached quietly. Through the corner of the wall, he saw two people talking in low voices, seemingly discussing something important.
"He must have come in by now." The first voice sounded again, its tone full of calmness and confidence.
"Then what should we do? He comes alone, so he shouldn't pose any threat, right?" The second voice was a little doubtful, and it was obvious that he did not have a very high opinion of Su Ming's ability.
"You underestimate him." The first voice sneered, "Although he is a newcomer, he should not be underestimated. We must be prepared to prevent him from making a comeback."
Hearing this, Su Ming's heart tightened. He knew that these two men were clearly wary of him and had even prepared for him. Clearly, they didn't underestimate him, but had already begun to consider how to deal with the threat he might pose.
"They know I'm here." Su Ming felt uneasy. His eyes were fixed on the two figures, and he began to think about what to do next.
Without time to hesitate, he quickly pulled a small hypnotic bullet from his backpack and gently tossed it toward where the two men stood. Instantly, a faint puff of smoke erupted from the ammunition, filling the air. The two men paused in conversation, their bodies becoming sluggish and their eyelids heavy.
"Hurry, we can't let them completely faint." Su Ming reminded himself in his heart, and quickly rushed forward to suppress the two men steadily.
His movements were swift and precise, barely giving the other party time to react. Confused expressions appeared in their eyes as they gradually lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Su Ming took a deep breath and, taking advantage of this moment, quickly searched the two men, retrieving several documents and a cell phone.
