Chapter 92 Academic Exchange Conference (Part )

Dr. Agasa received an invitation from the novelist for an academic exchange, saying that several scholars specializing in mechanical research would come to visit his estate in the near future, including several people who had previously exchanged ideas with Dr. Agasa about their inventions.

Dr. Agasa was very excited and told Conan and Haibara the news.

"Doctor, go ahead if you want to. I still have to stay here to research those drugs." Huiyuan wasn't interested in machinery. "But Mr. Orpheus has a really wide network of contacts. From researchers to celebrities, he has acquaintances in every field."

Conan agreed with this and, with the intention of broadening his horizons, he and Dr. Agasa went to the Delos Manor. The novelist greeted them and Conan saw the mechanic and pilot he had met last time fiddling with some equipment in the yard.

The academic exchange meeting seemed to be planned to be held in the yard of the Delos Manor. Although it was an academic exchange meeting, a large dining table with various snacks on it had been set up in the yard.

When Dr. Agasa saw it, his eyes widened and he wanted to go over and eat some, but was stopped by Conan.

"Doctor, Huiyuan warned you not to eat so many sweets, otherwise she will scold you again."

Dr. Agasa left dejectedly, but then happily chatted with the mechanic and pilot about the various gadgets he had recently invented.

Conan noticed that the little girl was secretly taking a truffle cake from the dining table and walked over curiously.

The little girl was frightened by Conan: "Wow, Conan, don't tell my dad."

"But you already had one this morning, didn't you?" the entomologist said, approaching. "Put it back. Orpheus doesn't want you to get cavities."

The little girl pouted and put the cake back on the table.

"By the way, is Aunt Meli also here to participate in this academic exchange? But everyone gathered in the yard are experts in mechanics." Conan was a little surprised.

The little girl explained, "Sister Helena is here too, but she's in the living room. Also here is Uncle Kurt, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper. He's planning to write a biography of Sister Helena."

"Besides these, there are a few others who haven't arrived yet. I think Tracy is getting a little anxious waiting." The entomologist smiled.

"It must be Brother Luca. It will take a long time for him and Professor Lorenz to get here."

The little girl then explained the story of the master and apprentice to Conan.

Conan's eyes widened: He even knew the renowned professor of electromagnetism. It seemed no surprise that a government official would show up in Delos Manor.

The gate of the manor opened again, and a pair of people dressed like teachers and students walked in. The Hermit (for the promotion ceremony) and the Prisoner (for graduation day) greeted everyone.

Without waiting for the hermit to say anything, the prisoner ran straight to discuss his recent research experience with the mechanic. Crazy Eyes, who was watching the two people's passionate discussion, twitched his eyelids and moved his equipment back.

"Brother Luca and Sister Tracy are good friends and geniuses in mechanical research. Um, but Grandpa Balk doesn't seem to welcome them very much." The little girl pointed at Crazy Eyes, who was adjusting a machine nearby. "Once, the two of them worked together to dismantle Grandpa Balk's invention, which made him furious."

"Ahem, even though these two little guys were quite unruly back then, at least they are both very talented kids. That's why I didn't get mad because Bang Bang was demolished." Crazy Eyes stopped debugging the machine and came over to retort.

"Bang bang?" Conan was a little curious about what it was, and then he saw a penguin-shaped iron robot walking towards him.

"Alice, flowers are for you." Guard No. 26 walked over with a bouquet of flowers and gave it to the little girl.

"Thank you, Bangbang." The little girl hugged Guard No. 26.

"This is Bang Bang, my good friend, a robot made by Grandpa Balk."

The little girl introduced Conan to Guard No. 26: "Bang Bang, this is my good friend, Conan."

"Nice to meet you, Bang Bang." Guard No. 26 turned his head and greeted Conan.

Conan's eyes widened at this, because this robot did not seem to rely entirely on logical calculations to act, and seemed to have a certain degree of intelligence.

Sure enough, when he saw the robot, Dr. Agasa also came over. The two old men were having a pleasant conversation about this, but Conan was not willing to continue listening to those obscure technical terms. He turned his attention to the novelist and hermit who were talking.

The two people who were talking did not care about the little girl and Conan who were eating cake nearby.

"Thank you very much for your invitation, Mr. Orpheus." The hermit sat at the dining table and picked up a latte.

"Don't be so polite, Alva. I know you are not here for so-called academic exchange." The novelist adjusted his monocle.

"Alas, my student is still obsessed with that impossible invention. I have tried every possible way to enlighten him and showed him almost all the theoretical proofs, but he still insists on doing it his own way."

"Perhaps in Mr. Barsac's view, that is his lifelong pursuit."

"So I brought him here. Miss Reznik and he have quite a lot in common. I hope he can get some inspiration from this and temporarily break away from his obsession with perpetual motion machines."

"But, a perpetual motion machine goes against the laws of physics. How can it be made?" Conan put down the cake fork and couldn't help but interrupt.

"Brother Luca's father seems to have drawn a blueprint of a perpetual motion machine, which theoretically proved the feasibility of the perpetual motion machine." The little girl wiped her mouth and said.

But that's only possible in theory. Conan didn't say this out loud.

The hermit sighed and said, "I don't want him to follow in his father's footsteps, and I don't want to experience loss again."

The hermit then pulled down his sleeves, revealing a large burn mark.

"Hermann is gone. How long should I guard those manuscripts? Lucas will find them sooner or later. Orpheus, what should I do?"

Before the novelist could answer, the prisoner and the mechanic came over from a distance. The prisoner had not heard anything about their conversation.

The prisoner ran up to the hermit, eager to claim credit. "Teacher, teacher, I just helped Tracy solve a very tricky circuit problem!"

"Really?" The hermit, who had just been immersed in sorrow, had obviously not fully recovered yet.

"Teacher, don't be so stern. Just think about it, when I, Lucas Barsac, develop a perpetual motion machine, you will be proud of me!"

Then the prisoner ran excitedly to the other side of the table and opened a can of red pepper sauce and started eating.

Conan: Eat chili sauce directly? So strong?

"Hey, Tracy, you want to try some of that?" the prisoner said, trying to share the red pepper sauce with the mechanic.

The mechanic, who had been following the prisoner, immediately turned 180 degrees and took the butter sandwich from the table. "No, thank you."
