Chapter 87 Tarot's Lying Game

That day, Sonoko took Xiaolan and Conan to Teitan High School, the occult research club founded by the prophet, priest and sorcerer.

"Is it really that magical?" Xiaolan was a little confused.

Sonoko gave a reassuring gesture: "It will definitely be fine. Many of my classmates have come to them for divination before."

Conan, on the other hand, showed a crescent-shaped eye. He had just heard Sonoko talk about how magical the divination skills of the exchange students were. They could find a key that had been lost for three months, make people confess their love successfully, and he even hoped that they could predict the exam questions.

Conan: If it were really that magical, then detectives and police would be completely useless.

There are quite a lot of exquisite objects on display in the Mysticism Research Society, including crystal balls and various books brought by priests, wood carvings made by sorcerers, and various feather ornaments of the prophets.

However, there are more than these three people gathered here today. In addition to Xiaolan and Conan brought over by Sonoko, the forward, cowboy, batsman and cheerleaders are also here.

"Hi, Xiaolan!" The cheerleaders greeted Xiaolan in a friendly manner.

"Lily, you are here too, and everyone is here." Xiaolan was a little surprised that so many people gathered in the club.

"The divination at the school festival was too tiring, so we are planning to suspend business for a while." The priest sighed, holding his horn-shaped headdress.

Sonoko was very disappointed: "Hey, I brought Xiaolan here to ask you for divination, please just do it this once!"

Yuanzi put his hands together in a gesture of request.

"Okay, okay, in that case, why don't you watch us play a lying game."

"Lying Game?" Conan poked his little head out from the table.

"Each person takes a piece of paper and writes down three sentences about themselves. They can be true or false."

"After the host has identified each person, he will take out four ID cards and indicate the number of lies on each card. We then need to identify each person's ID card."

"Actually, it's just a game between good friends to get to know each other better." The cheerleader added.

The priest on the side had already drawn out a bunch of tarot cards to represent identity cards.

The forward, the cowboy, the batter, and the cheerleader each took out a pen and paper and wrote down the truth and lies about themselves.

After reading what these people wrote, the priest took out four Tarot cards, namely the Chariot, the Hanged Man, Strength and the Star.

"Chariot spoke the truth only once."

"The Hanged Man lied only once."

"Power speaks only the truth."

"The stars have only told lies."

After the priest finished speaking, several people took out pieces of paper with truth and lies written on them and started discussing.

Cowboy: "Lily, it says 'I don't have any brothers or sisters'. That's fake, right? I remember you had a brother named Simon."

Bass: "Then Lily isn't the 'Strength' card."

Striker: "Kevin, you actually wrote 'I have no deep regrets' there. That's also a lie."

Cheerleader: "Let me see what you wrote, William. 'I love roast pork knuckles'?"

The sorcerer beside him almost laughed out loud: "You are quite honest."

The forward scratched his head: "But the roasted pork knuckle is indeed delicious."

"Shouldn't you be more careful? You almost drank a drink with rat poison in it before." The prophet complained to the forward.

Spellcaster: "It seems someone deliberately placed the drink on the table. If you hadn't discovered it in time, Eli, William would have been sent to the hospital."

Conan, who can hear such strange anecdotes while watching others play games: This is too stupid.

Cowboy: "William's other two statements seem to be false: 'I have never committed a foul' and 'I am good at using mechanical products'."

The cheerleader nodded in agreement. "William was injured in a foul before, and he knows nothing about mechanical products."

William, whose identity was guessed, got the "chariot" that belonged to him, symbolizing victory and determination.

Batsman: "That line Lily wrote is also fake, 'I love my family'. I remember your family..."

The cheerleader was a little depressed: "Well, it's fake. I don't like my father."

Cowboy: "'I don't like fire', 'I'm good at cricket', 'I love curry', that's not a lie at all, Gangi."

The priest handed the "power" which symbolized courage to the batsman.

Cowboy: "The last sentence Lily wrote was also fake: 'I love horse racing'. You haven't mentioned horse racing since Simon's accident."

"Has anything happened in Lily's family?" Xiaolan was a little surprised.

"Yes, my brother Simon originally planned to participate in a horse race, hoping to achieve excellent results to attract the attention of the family."

"But, an accident happened during that game, and my brother was injured and paralyzed in bed. Father felt that we had brought shame on him and that he would no longer be valued by the family, so..."

The cheerleader took a deep breath, trying to hold back the tears that were about to fall from her eyes.

"Then I ran away alone, but luckily I met new friends later."

"As for my family, apart from my brother, I don't care about anyone else in the family anymore. I never want to go back to that suffocating place."

In a somewhat silent atmosphere, the cheerleader took the "star" that symbolizes hope and faith.

Finally, the "Hanged Man", a symbol of sacrifice, was handed over to the cowboy.

"Ah, to some extent, the meanings of these Tarot cards are quite consistent with your respective experiences?" The prophet rubbed the head of his servant bird.

Conan was just listening to a few people discussing truth and lies when he suddenly looked up and saw the prophet's bird blinking at him.

"This is Brodevi." The prophet smiled slightly and let Brodevi fall into his hands.

"Brother, can you not see the road if you blindfold yourself?" Conan was really curious about the prophet's attire.

"The blindfold scarf is specially made, so you won't lose sight of the road."

"Xiaolan, I can start fortune-telling for you now." The priest tidied up the table and unfolded the tarot cards upside down on the table.

"Go quickly, Xiaolan. Fiona's tarot card divination is very accurate." Sonoko pushed Xiaolan from behind.

"Okay." Xiaolan pulled out a chair and sat down at the table.

"So, what do you want to ask?"

After thinking for a while, Xiaolan said in a somewhat melancholy tone: "Then, please help me predict when Shinichi will come back."

"Please draw one."

Xiaolan's fingers moved across a pile of tarot cards for a while, and finally she chose a card that was a little to the side.

The priest drew this card, which showed "The Lovers".

"The tarot cards show that you will have a chance to meet again in the near future."

"Oh, really?" Xiaolan's expression became very surprised.

"If you see Kudo-san again, make sure to hold on to him tightly." The priest gave a faint smile.

"Little brother, do you want to do a divination too?" The priest turned to look at Conan.

"Ah, I don't need it."

Conan smiled and tried to slip away, but was pulled back by Sonoko.

"Just give it a try. It's a good opportunity to see what kind of divination results you can get."

"But I don't want to do divination, do I?"

"Then let's tell your fortune for the near future." The priest rearranged the cards.

Conan drew a "Fool".

"Adventurous and curious fool, it seems my little brother will be going on a trip soon."

The priest's divination ended while Conan was still in doubt.
