Moon frost snow

Chapter 3: I'll be fine tomorrow after a good night's sleep

He Yue felt depressed and opened her mouth but said nothing.

At this time, Xiao Zhuang brought a bowl of noodle paste and a bowl of unknown food to He Yue and said, "Come on, sister, eat quickly! Grandpa Fu said that when you wake up, eat something and drink some medicine, and then have a good sleep, and you will be fine tomorrow."

"Let Xiaoyue eat! We'll all go out and let Xiaozhuang take care of her sister."

He Youren said something to Li Guihua and He Dazhuang and went out. Although his father didn't talk much, he was mostly thinking about He Yue.

Li Guihua looked at Xiao Zhuang and said, "Take care of your sister until she has eaten and taken medicine, then go back to sleep."

"You all should go and have some rest! I will take good care of my sister." Xiao Zhuang asked them to go out like an adult.

Dazhuang was reluctant to leave, but Li Guihua pulled him, so he could only look at He Yue and say, "Be good, sister. I'll find some fruit for you."

Li Guihua pulled Dazhuang and looked at He Yue. "Don't think too much. Just have a good rest. Everything will be fine."

He Yue hummed in a depressed tone. She really didn't dare to say anything, for fear that she would burst into tears.

After they left, He Yue took the bowl of porridge, which she couldn't tell what it was made of, and took a sip bravely.

I don't know how to describe the taste and texture. If you say it's delicious, it's not as good as white porridge. If you say it's unpalatable, it's acceptable.

Maybe it was because I was sick, tired and hungry, so no matter what, it was good to have something to eat.

She finished a bowl of porridge and a bowl of vegetables, and Xiaozhuang handed her a bowl of medicine.

The medicine was boiled by He Yue during the day and kept warm in the fire pit, so it was still hot when he drank it.

After eating and taking the medicine, Xiao Zhuang ordered, "Sister, lie down and have a good rest. You will definitely be better tomorrow. When you are better, let's go fishing in the river together. I said I would take you to play."

He Yue touched Xiao Zhuang's head and said, "Okay, sister will get better soon. Let's go play together."

Xiao Zhuang happily took the dishes and chopsticks and went out. He Yue lay on the bed alone, looking at the flickering fire on the table beside her.

I was thinking about my parents and younger brother. They had originally agreed to go back and celebrate the New Year with them this year, but I didn't expect to suddenly come to this place.

Thinking about the illness left by the original owner, I fell asleep unknowingly.

Her parents returned to their room and were relieved when they heard Xiaozhuang's voice. "Xiaoyue's life is too hard, and we are incompetent. I don't know if she will blame us."

Li Guihua said worriedly and fearfully. He Youren turned around and hugged Li Guihua to comfort her, "Everyone has their own destiny. All we can do is be good to her. Xiaoyue is a good child. How could she blame us? We must believe that God will not let her suffer forever."

"Oh, how I wish I could give her some of my health."

"Okay, stop thinking about it and go to sleep! We still have to get up early to work. If we do more, they'll have an easier time."

Yes! They were already very poor, and they had three children, some of whom were stupid, some were sick, and some were very young. If the two of them didn't work hard, they might not even have enough to eat, let alone pay for their daughter's medical treatment.

As the dawn breaks and the eastern sky gradually turns pale, the ancient village, which has been sleeping all night, begins to wake up. The crowing of roosters breaks the morning tranquility, its sound echoing through the village, as if telling everyone that a new day has begun.

As the roosters crowed, the villagers began to rise. The women busily prepared breakfast, and smoke from their cooking stoves rose, filling the air above the village. The men left their homes to begin their day's work. Some went to the fields to plant crops, others to the mountains to chop wood, and still others to the river to fish.

The children in the village also woke up early. They ran and played in the village, their laughter echoing throughout the village. Some children followed their parents to the fields to help learn about farming.

In the village in the early morning, the air is fresh and the fragrance of flowers fills the air. The wildflowers along the roadside sway gently in the breeze, as if showing off their beauty. Birds sing happily in the branches, their songs clear and melodious, making people feel happy.

In the center of the village, there's an ancient well. The water is crystal clear, and people flock here to draw water. As they do so, they chat and discuss the latest happenings in the village. Beneath a large tree beside the well, several elderly people sit leisurely, drying their belongings and chatting, enjoying the tranquility and peace of the early morning.

As the sun rises, the villagers begin to get busy. They toil in the fields, striving for a good harvest. In this ancient village, although people lead simple lives, they are full of vitality and energy. They create a beautiful life with their own hands and enjoy the gifts of nature.

When He Yue woke up, the sun was already high in the sky. He Yue opened her eyes and raised one hand to rub her eyes.

One hand was groping for something beside the bed, and when his eyes could see clearly, his consciousness returned to normal.

She then smiled helplessly, "I still feel like I'm in my own bed at home. I've truly traveled to an ancient time that I don't recognize or am not familiar with."

She was just looking for her cell phone as usual. It was around seven or eight o'clock and she was getting ready to get up and go to work.

She sat up and looked around the room. She slept on a wooden bed made entirely of wood. The bedside table was made by the original owner's father. Although it was not as good as that made by a professional carpenter, it was also sturdy and durable.

There was a tattered and old quilt on the bed, covered with a sheet made of different coarse cloths. Although it had many patches, it was quite stylish.

There was also a quilt of the same style. On the other side of the bed was a shabby cabinet. She knew without looking that there were several sets of clothes in it.

There was a window on the wall not far from the cabinet, covered with a piece of white gauze.

The light coming in from the window illuminated the entire room, and there was nothing else in the room except these simple items.

She put on her shoes and tidied her quilt. Since it was summer, she only wore one piece of clothing and slept in her clothes at night.

Of course, except for men who can sleep shirtless, women and girls are not allowed to do so.

After taking the medicine twice yesterday, she woke up this morning feeling much better than yesterday.

She felt much more energetic. After putting on her shoes and walking out of the room, she saw breakfast covered in a bowl on the table and a faint fire in the fire pit.

Her medicine was still warm on the triangle. He Yue sighed, "In this world where men are superior to women, the original owner had such a good family. Although she died early, her life was much better than other girls."

He Yue washed her face, poured a bowl of medicine, and sat down at the table. She opened the bowl and looked at the porridge in the bowl and lost her appetite.
