Chapter 13 Asking at a Pharmacy

He Yue called out, "Brother Daniu, wait a moment."

Daniu turned around, and He Yue took a few steps forward. "Brother Daniu, are you going to the city to sell meat tomorrow morning?"

Daniel nodded, "Yeah! What's up?"

"Can I come with you? I want to go into town early and check out the pharmacy."

"Of course, I'll wait for you at four o'clock tomorrow morning."

"it is good."

After the two of them agreed on a time, Da Niu went home.

While helping to pick up the herbs, Xiao Zhuang asked, "Sister, can this medicine really be sold for money?"

"I don't know! That's why I want to go and take a look. If I sell it, I'll buy you some candy, okay?"

Xiao Zhuang was obviously happy for a moment, but then he immediately looked nonchalant. "What's so good about candy? I heard it can even damage your teeth."

He Yue felt distressed when she saw Xiao Zhuang's sensible look. She knew that Xiao Zhuang said that on purpose because he was afraid that the candy was too expensive.

He Yue rubbed Xiao Zhuang's head and said, "Don't worry, sister will make sure that you all can live a good life."

Xiao Zhuang nodded confidently, "Yes, I will grow up quickly and make a lot of money."

They are all full of hope for the future.

At four o'clock in the morning of the second day, He Yue was walking on the way to Daniu's house with a cloth bag on her back. The moon was still hanging in the sky.

The moonlight illuminated the road clearly. He Yue exclaimed, "It's great to have no pollution! Not only is the air fresher, but the stars in the sky look much brighter."

He Yue arrived outside Da Niu's house. Da Niu had just loaded the meat into the car. Seeing He Yue coming, he ordered, "Hurry up and get in the car. We're leaving now."

"Okay." He Yue climbed onto the ox cart and sat down in the empty seat left by the big ox, who sat in the front to drive the cattle.

It takes more than an hour to ride an ox cart from Donghe Village to Huaining County, and the ox cart sways as it goes on the road.

He Yue admired the beautiful scenery along the way and asked about the city from time to time. Daniu answered everything she asked and didn't know what to say to the rest.

Just like that, after about an hour, the ox cart finally arrived at the city gate.

At this moment, the sky was slightly bright, and at the city gate, many people were carrying, driving ox carts, or pushing wheelbarrows and walking into the city.

It seemed that everyone was rushing to sell things early in the morning. When passing by the city gate, He Yue took a closer look and did not see that there was any need to repair the city wall.

She thought it might be the other side of the city wall! She looked up at a plaque on the city wall, which read Huaining County in traditional Chinese characters.

"Fortunately, the characters here are all traditional Chinese characters. If it were other classical Chinese characters, I would have to start from scratch." He Yue thought to herself.

There were soldiers guarding the city gate. Once you entered the city gate, you would see a long street.

There are many small stalls on both sides of the street, and a little further out are shops.

They are all ancient buildings, and the names of their own shops are hung outside the shops.

He Yue looked around curiously. Da Niu drove the ox cart to an open space and stopped. "We're here. I'll be selling meat there. When you're done, come back and we can go home together."

"Okay, I'll go first."

Da Niu tied up the ox cart, carried the meat and took the tools and walked towards his stall.

Although the stall is not big, you still have to pay. However, no one will come to collect the money until the stall is closing.

He Yue walked and looked around, and remembered that the original owner had been here a few years ago.

It was just daybreak, and most of the people coming and going on the street were selling things, so there weren't many people on the street.

As He Yue walked, she saw a large piece of cloth hanging under the eaves in front of her, with the word "medicine" written on it.

As you get closer, you can see a plaque hanging on the gate with the three big words "Tzu Chi Hall" written in traditional Chinese characters.

He Yue walked in. It was very clean, empty and simple inside. There was a table and two chairs next to it, which should be the medical records.

There is a counter in the middle, and behind the counter is a row of large cabinets with many small compartments on them, which must be used to store various medicinal materials.

There was a young man sitting at a small table on the other side reading a book.

He looked up at He Yue when he heard footsteps, then put down his book, stood up and asked, "Excuse me, miss, are you here to buy medicine or for a consultation? If you are here to buy medicine, please give me the prescription. If you are here for a consultation, you will have to wait a moment."

He Yue took out a golden thread lotus from her bag and asked, "I'm not buying medicine or asking for a consultation. I just want to know if you have this medicine and its value."

The young man walked over, picked up the herb, and took a look. He then scratched his head and said embarrassedly, "This, I think I've seen it somewhere before. I just can't remember it at the moment. If you're in a hurry, go ask at another herbal shop. If you're not in a hurry, come back later. My master will be able to tell me when he comes back."

He Yue took back the herbs and said, "Thank you. Sorry for bothering me."

"It's okay, it's okay," the young man waved his hands embarrassedly. He was the apprentice of Doctor Mo from Tzu Chi Hall. His name was Mo Yiyu and he was eighteen years old.

He has been an orphan since childhood. He was adopted by Doctor Mo and has been learning medical skills from Doctor Mo ever since.

Just as He Yue was about to go out, she saw a middle-aged man running in anxiously, carrying a boy of about eleven or twelve years old on his back.

There was a crying woman beside him, who shouted as soon as she came in, "Doctor Mo, Doctor Mo, please save my son!"

Mo Yiyun stepped forward and asked, "What happened?"

The man said, "My son choked while eating. Please ask Dr. Mo to come out and save him!"

"But my master is out on a medical visit and hasn't returned yet. You should hurry to the East Market to find Doctor Qin!"

After seeing someone hurriedly carrying someone on his back running into the Tzu Chi Hall, several stall owners nearby came to the door to watch curiously.

Someone noticed the child's face had changed, clearly indicating he was dying. Hearing that Doctor Mo was not there, they said, "Look, the child is almost dead. It's probably too late to get him to East Market from here. What a pity!"

When the woman heard this, she became even more anxious. "My poor son! What should I do? Aren't you Doctor Mo's apprentice? Please save my son!"

Mo Yiyun said embarrassedly, "My medical skills are not good enough. I'm afraid I can't help you. You should go find Doctor Qin as soon as possible. He should be able to be saved."

He Yue saw the young man who was about to die, and stopped the man who was about to leave. "It's too late, put him down quickly, you support him."

The man looked at He Yue with a serious face, and actually felt that this thin little girl in front of him could save his son. He put his son down and supported him.

Some people outside the door didn't believe that such a little girl could save people, and just thought that the man was desperate and trying any possible means.

He Yue said nothing more, walked behind the young man, and put her arms around his chest.

The blows hit the boy's abdomen again and again, and everyone was shocked. Some just watched in silence, while others shook their heads and said, "How shameless! It's simply disgusting. How shameless!"

"Yes! I've never seen her save people like this. She doesn't look like a doctor. Isn't this harming people?"
