Farming and reading family

Chapter 21: A Frustration

Feng thought Gao E would be furious, but she didn't expect Gao E to argue seriously.

When it comes to quarrels, there must be emotions, anger, and a lot of words going on... and then the quarrel begins.

Feng likes to argue because he has never lost.

Every time she opened her mouth and saw others trembling with anger, she felt a sense of relief.

Then you can just say a few sweet words to the other person and the matter will be over. If that doesn't work, you can still mock the other person for being stingy and make them tremble with anger.

Tried and tested!

Gao E was not in a hurry and waited for Feng to answer slowly.

She knew that Feng was here to make fun of her, but she couldn't say it. If she did, it would be like judging others by her own standards.

"Oh! As expected of a scholar's wife, you speak with such skill." Feng sneered again, "Didn't I come to see you?"

Naturally, she would not respond to Gao E's words and make herself look bad.

Gao E ignored Feng's cleverness and asked, "Does it look good?"

Feng's face was a little tense. She was unwilling to flatter Gao again. "You are a pampered young lady with delicate skin and tender flesh. Naturally, you are beautiful. I just don't know how long you will look good."

"Flowers bloom and fall, and it's good as long as they are beautiful. Unlike some people who are not beautiful at all." Gao E said provocatively.

She really didn't care much about Feng, but that didn't mean Feng could do whatever he wanted in front of her.

Feng was so angry that her eyebrows raised and she was about to get angry.

"Ah! You don't think I'm talking about you, do you?" Gao E said first.

Feng felt a breath stuck in her chest and didn't know how to vomit it out for a moment.

"You're right." Gao E looked at Feng seriously.

The breath Feng had been holding exploded in her chest, and her face turned red.

"Look, look, you can't even take a joke." Gao E laughed heartily.

This was Feng's usual tactic, but now that Gao E had stopped her and forced her to tell it all, she was so furious that she didn't know what to do.

"Ah! Are you really angry?" Gao E looked at Feng. "You got angry after just two words. If the villagers knew about this, no one would dare to associate with you."

Feng's face turned red and then white, and then white and then black, it was so wonderful: "I stewed a chicken for my son Sancai, I have to go back and check on him." She said and left.

"Then you have to hurry up, otherwise it will be bad if it gets messy." Gao E raised her voice.

Yang on the side laughed when she heard this. Feng was very good at dealing with people, so when had she ever suffered such a loss?

"Sister-in-law is afraid that I will quarrel with her." Gao E saw Yang was about to go over.

Yang did think so, but it was difficult to say: "Feng is not an easy person to get along with."

"Don't worry, sister-in-law." Gao E comforted.

After Feng came down from the old village with a broken nose, she met the women of the village gathered at the river god temple to chat.

"Oh, you came down so soon?" a woman asked jokingly. "Didn't you get anything good?"

When the woman said this, everyone around her started laughing.

If it were in the past, Feng would have made some jokes so that she wouldn't be so unpopular in the village.

But today she was filled with anger towards Gao E, and when she heard those village women laughing like that, her anger boiled over again.

"What good can a poor family like that bring? Only you still treasure the poor scholar of the Chen family. Now that he has sold his house and land, he might come back to beg for money from you. I don't think he is destined to be an official." After saying this, Feng turned her waist and left.

The village women restrained their smiles, and some who disliked Feng even glared at her back.

"If the Chen family hadn't produced a scholar, their lives wouldn't be so difficult now," someone said regretfully.

"He is a scholar after all. Besides, Mr. Chen once helped us write Spring Festival couplets."

"Wouldn't it be inappropriate for us not to help him move?" someone reflected.

"I think we should just forget it. That Gao family member is not someone you can get along with easily. The Chen family didn't tell us to just leave like that. She might think we're plotting something against their family."

"makes sense……"

……

The women all had their own thoughts, but they were just small ones. After all, they were from the same village, so if they really encountered difficulties, they would lend a hand if they could.

Gao E thought that Chen Ke and his group would be back after noon, as Maying Town was not particularly far away. However, Chen Ke and his group did not return until they had seen off Master Qin and his group.

This made her worried, wondering if something unexpected had happened.

Chen Qing and Yang Shi did not leave either, also worried that something might have happened.

"Brother." Chen Jie came up from downstairs carrying a bag of food.

When Chen Qing heard Chen Jie's voice, he ran over immediately. Seeing Chen Jie carrying a bag of grain, he hurriedly helped him put it on the ground.

"The carriage is too loaded to load. Let's go down and carry some up." Chen Jie said while wiping his sweat.

"Okay." Chen Qing breathed a sigh of relief.

Lei also came up carrying a bag of grain.

"Didn't I tell you not to carry it?" Chen Jie went to take it with a distressed look on his face.

"Who are you looking down on?" Lei said with disdain, putting the food on the ground.

"You don't need to do this job since I have a man at home." Chen Jie looked at his mighty and strong wife with a proud face.

Gao E laughed and said, "Third brother loves you, so don't work so hard."

Lei laughed and said, "Then you go, I'll talk to my second sister-in-law." She said mysteriously and pulled my second sister-in-law to sit down, and took out a package from her arms, "Second sister-in-law, take a look and see if this is it."

Gao E opened the sackcloth bag and found six razor blades she had drawn. The blades had ridges, making them easier to pack. "This is it."

"That's good." Lei said this with a bit of frustration.

"what happened?"

"There's no one selling smoked fish in Maying Town, but there is one in He County. I went to ask the price, and a piece of smoked fish costs twenty cents, which is not a low price. But I squatted outside the door for an entire afternoon, and no one even asked about smoked fish." Lei was disappointed.

The key to doing business is to be able to sell, otherwise it will be meaningless no matter how high the price is.

Gao E thought that Lei was very thoughtful: "It seems that smoked fish is not suitable in He County."

Lei thought so too. It was no big deal for a dry goods store to stock a few smoked fish, but it was a different matter if they specialized in making it.

"Then we'll eat it ourselves." Gao E didn't care.

Anyway, she was planning to eat it herself at first.

Lei was still very disappointed, as he had originally thought there would be a way to make money.

These grains were first placed in the cave where Gao E and the others lived. Gao E went to tidy it up and asked them to move in. Jiang and Lei started chatting inside and talked about Feng's visit today.

"Second sister-in-law is really not angry?" Lei was a little unconvinced.

"I'm really not angry, but Feng is very angry." Jiang also laughed as she spoke.

Lei looked at the direction of the cave and then at her eldest sister-in-law: "I think her second sister-in-law is really different from before."

Jiang Shi didn't feel much of it. She didn't like to speculate about others. "This is a good thing."

Lei thought it was a good thing, and it made her consider whether to divide the family.
