Bring your aunt to eat big meat, the scumbag father's family is furious

Chapter 784 Drowning in the water, the deed is done

Although Jiang Shijing was cautious, he only brought two people with him. He looked at the handwriting on the post and it was indeed Young Master Zhong's. No matter what, Young Master Zhong wouldn't go so far as to use his real name to harm him, would he? Wouldn't that give someone leverage against him?

He didn't touch the tea, snacks, or wine on the table.

But he always felt that something was off about Young Master Zhong.

He glanced around the pavilion again, smiled, and was about to get up: "Now that the game is solved, brother-in-law, why don't we go for a horse race?"

He was immediately pressed down to sit by Young Master Zhong: "Why is Shijing in such a hurry? Having a couple of drinks and riding around in a slightly tipsy state is a much more enjoyable experience."

Jiang Shijing did not insist; he casually placed his finger on the rim of the cup, a gesture that seemed disrespectful, indicating that he had no intention of drinking it.

"I've only just recovered, so it's not advisable for me to drink alcohol or tea. How about I have a nice game with my brother-in-law instead?"

“Okay,” Young Master Zhong readily agreed.

While playing chess, Young Master Zhong chatted with great interest, from court affairs to anecdotes in the capital, trying to immerse Jiang Shijing in the game.

Halfway down, seeing that Jiang Shijing was completely relaxed, the shadow guards, with their backs bent and under the cover of low trees, silently crept towards them, covering a considerable distance in the blink of an eye.

The two attendants that Jiang Shijing brought were chatting amongst themselves, occasionally glancing around.

The air was silent, without a breath of wind, but when one of the attendants saw a branch sway slightly, he immediately became alert and suppressed his smile.

He remained silent and gave his companion a look.

The two men stared in that direction, their hands gripping the swords at their waists.

Seeing that they had been exposed and were quite close to the pavilion, the hidden guards revealed themselves and surrounded the pavilion with lightning speed.

A few of them broke away and fought with two of the followers. Swords clashed, and the air became tense and murderous.

Before Jiang Shijing could even lower the flag in his hand, his cold, sharp gaze turned to the sudden scene unfolding outside the pavilion.

"Brother-in-law, these aren't people you brought, are they?"

Young Master Zhong feigned surprise: "Shijing, you've misunderstood. I don't know what's going on either. This is the outskirts of the city, after all. These people are probably here to rob us."

There were about ten people surrounding the pavilion, and they were gradually approaching it.

Surrounded by water on three sides, unless one possesses exceptional lightness skills to glide across the wide pool, or defeats these dozen or so masters, death is inevitable.

Young Master Zhong is highly skilled in martial arts, but Jiang Shijing's body has been neglected for many years and he has only just regained his senses. How could he possibly defeat these people?

In the blink of an eye, his two henchmen were killed.

"Don't worry, Shijing. As long as I'm alive, I won't let them harm a hair on your head," Young Master Zhong said hypocritically.

Then he drew his sword and charged into the fight.

He led a group of people away, but the rest surrounded Jiang Shijing, their faces filled with murderous intent, leaving no room for retreat.

Jiang Shijing retreated step by step towards the water's edge until he had nowhere left to retreat.

He knew he had been tricked by Young Master Zhong, but he never expected that Young Master Zhong would actually kill him by name. It was incredibly audacious and foolish.

This is completely disregarding the consequences.

But as a dying man, he couldn't care less about arguing with Young Master Zhong.

Without the slightest hesitation, those men thrust their swords at Jiang Shijing, aiming to leave at least a dozen holes in his body.

Jiang Shijin couldn't swim either. He wanted to jump into the pool, but he couldn't make up his mind.

I might as well close my eyes and wait to die.

That letter is still in the study. He's dead, and even Young Master Zhong can't escape unscathed.

A chilling sword aura rushed towards him, and just when he thought he was about to die, he heard the whooshing sound of air being pierced.

Then came screams and thuds as people fell to the ground.

Upon opening their eyes, they saw that those people had a dagger stuck in their forehead, throat, or chest, and they died quickly.

Jiang Shijing looked around in surprise, wondering where the expert was hiding to help him.

Just then, he felt his scalp tighten, as if something had grabbed his hair. He staggered and knelt on the ground, his body was dragged into the pool again, and his head was pushed into the water.

He was forced to drink large gulps of water into his chest cavity, and his lungs felt like they were on fire, burning and agonizing. Gradually, he lost consciousness.

Qiao Lian'er first dragged Jiang Shijing into the water, and then dragged him into the space.

Pei Shijiu sat on a stone bench in the space, fiddling with a dagger in his hand.

"What about the others?"

Qiao Lian'er thought for a moment and said, "Don't worry about it. Find someone to send Jiang Shijing back to the Jiang family and tell them what happened here. Let's gain the upper hand."

Amidst the chaotic fight, seeing Jiang Shijing's body sink into the water, Young Master Zhong knew that his mission was accomplished.

He raised his hand, stopping the performance.

Seeing the daggers stuck in his men's bodies, Young Master Zhong couldn't help but feel puzzled. Had someone else gotten involved?

But there was no one around.

It seems that Jiang Shijing was prepared and made a last-ditch effort.

So what? It's still the same ending—death.

Thinking that no one would compete with him for Jiang Shuxue's dowry anymore, Young Master Zhong breathed a sigh of relief.

What he did today was somewhat risky, but no one has any evidence that he did it, and the benefits he gained far outweighed the risks.

"Clean this up and let's go back."

Several people carried Jiang Shijing to the Jiang family's gate.

Jiang Shijing was soaking wet, his stomach was swollen with water, and he was on the verge of death.

Upon hearing the news, Lord Jiang immediately rushed back from the yamen.

The physician in the manor was busy giving Jiang Shijing emergency treatment. First, he drained the water from his stomach, then he pressed on his chest and pinched his philtrum.

Seeing that his son was barely breathing, Lord Jiang's face darkened like a storm cloud.

"How is this going?"

The man responsible for bringing the person back said, "Lord Jiang, this is what happened. We were out for a stroll near Baimatan in the eastern suburbs when we saw a fight taking place in a pavilion. Upon closer inspection, we saw that a young master was surrounded by many of his men, who were attacking him and even pushing him into the water, trying to drown him."

"Fortunately, we know how to swim, so we dived into the water, dragged the man away, and brought him to the capital. We then went to some prestigious restaurants and asked some people of high status, and only then did we learn that he was the young master of the Jiang family, so we brought him here."

Lord Jiang's face twitched as he spat out each word through gritted teeth: "Who is that young master who harmed my son?"

"We common folk didn't know either. At first, we saw the two young masters drinking tea, playing chess and having a good time under the pavilion. We thought they were close friends. But somehow, the men that the other young master brought started fighting. It seems that the young master was putting on an act. Even though they were the ones he brought, he pretended to fight and acted as if he was protecting Young Master Jiang."
