Warhammer: From the Devouring C'tan Fragments

Chapter 457: The Mechanicus's Production Workshop 1

Just as the suicide hounds were wreaking havoc and slaughtering people indiscriminately in the Crusader army's position, five lightning-fast figures suddenly rushed out from their cover.

Five fully armed Space Marines, each wielding a gleaming power weapon in their hands, joined the slaughter directly.

These Space Marines were agile and moved as fast as lightning, moving rapidly in the positions of the Mechanicus, which was dazzling.

The power weapons they wielded were incredibly powerful, each strike unleashing a hail of blood. The Skitarii and their combat servitors had no time to react, and were tragically slain one after another by the ferocious attacks of the Space Marines and their Suicide Hounds.

In just one minute, the once impregnable defensive position had completely collapsed.

Looking around, the ground was littered with the shattered bodies of the Mechanicus members, blood dyed the entire land red, and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood. The scene was so bloody and cruel that it was unbearable to watch.

After successfully eliminating all the members of the Mechanicus in this defensive position, the five people did not stop. They quickly led the five suicide hounds towards the huge steel gate behind the position.

When the Space Marines were still some distance away from the steel gate, they saw a servitor embedded in it. Only the torso remained of the servitor, which was covered in a variety of complicated cables.

As the Space Marines approached, the servitor's scarlet electronic eyes suddenly shot out a radar scanning ray, scanning over the approaching Space Marines.

Suddenly, a sharp, piercing, and rapid alarm sounded from the mouth of the mechanical servant: "There is an intruder! There is an intruder!"

Sharp and piercing mechanical synthesized sounds continued to ring out in the empty corridor, but no member of the Mechanicus responded to the servitor's warning.

"Bang!" A Space Marine stepped forward and killed the servitor embedded in the gate with one punch.

After the Space Marine killed the technical servant, he slowly walked to the huge and heavy steel door.

He took a deep breath and pressed his hands tightly against the cold steel door. With a deep roar, he began to push against the door with all his strength.

Under the terrifying brute force of the Space Marines, the heavy steel door actually began to tremble slightly.

Accompanied by a teeth-grinding sound of metal friction, the door was forced inward little by little.

"Click, click, click!" The gears on the door axis made a series of wailing sounds as they could not bear such a huge force.

The sound was like the desperate cries of countless trapped beasts in despair, which made people shudder.

Thanks to the Space Marines' unremitting efforts, the sturdy steel door was completely pushed open.

Instantly, a powerful light poured out from the door, blinding the eyes. After adjusting to the glare, the five Space Marines were able to clearly see the scene inside.

What appeared before them was an extremely spacious and bright hall, the brightness of which was in stark contrast to the slightly dim and depressing environment of other Mechanicus.

The entire hall was filled with a tense yet orderly atmosphere, and busy figures of "people" could be seen everywhere.

Next to the crisscrossing assembly lines, accessories for weapons and equipment are being produced continuously.

At the end of the assembly line stood a series of bizarre creatures called "servitors." These servitors, partially made of flesh and blood but tightly integrated with a variety of complex and sophisticated mechanical components, looked both eerie and terrifying.

They move quickly and agilely. Whenever a new part is delivered from the assembly line, they will immediately extend their robotic arms to grab it and skillfully pack and seal it.

Not only that, even the workers responsible for producing weapons and equipment are not ordinary humans, but mechanical servants made of machines and flesh and blood.

In this huge and busy factory workshop, rows of robot servants are working tirelessly.

They moved like sophisticated machines, repeating the same movements with precision and efficiency. Each operation was performed with such skill and concentration that it seemed as if time had lost its meaning to them.

Various weapon parts are continuously delivered on the assembly line, and these mechanical servants nailed to the assembly line are like loyal craftsmen, meticulously carving each piece of work.

Their mechanical hands nimbly manipulate tools, polishing metal to mirror-smoothness and installing parts seamlessly.

Not only that, they were mumbling something in a binary prayer. Although the sound was monotonous, it was filled with an inexplicable sense of piety.

In this hall stand tall nutrient tanks, which stand there like giants, emitting a faint light.

Countless pipes of varying thickness extended from the tank, forming a complex web like a spider web. These pipes were tightly connected to the servitors on the assembly line, continuously supplying them with the energy they needed to sustain life.

Due to their long-term close integration with the assembly line, the bodies of these mechanical servants have undergone tremendous changes. Those originally useless organs have been ruthlessly removed and replaced with crude mechanical creations.

These mechanical parts are perfectly integrated into the servitor's body, giving it extraordinary strength and endurance.

Under the dual effects of mechanical devices and nutrient solution, these mechanical servants have almost become non-stop working machines. They can survive for a long time and continuously produce large quantities of weapons and equipment for the Mechanicus.

Even when the Space Marines pushed open the heavy door with all their might, the huge noise caused by it failed to elicit any reaction from the servitors who were immersed in their work.

Not a single robot servant stopped working, and no one even turned around to see what was happening.

They still repeat their actions with full concentration, tirelessly completing the task at hand, as if no external interference can break their concentration and persistence.

Obviously, under the training of the Mechanicus, although these people are still alive, they are no different from cold machines.

The only and only difference may be that these mechanical servants still have a trace of human consciousness, but this trace of consciousness has also fallen into confusion after long and repetitive work.
