Chapter 207 Killing the Traitor
After figuring things out, the soldier who was being supported gently turned his head to look at his comrades beside him and whispered, "There is only one way to end this battle."
"What method? Tell me quickly." The soldier looked at his comrade who was being supported with surprise and asked anxiously in a low voice.
"Here," the soldier who was being supported quietly pointed to the noble commander in the front and whispered, "Only after this noble dies will we have a chance to surrender. No one dares to surrender until he dies."
The soldier did not expect that his comrades had the same idea as him. He did not choose to act immediately because he was afraid that his sneak attack would be interfered with by his comrades, resulting in all his efforts being wasted.
Now that the comrades I support have the same ideas as I do, I don’t worry about being disturbed when I’m doing something. I can just do it as I think of it.
Without worrying about being disturbed by his comrades, the soldier quietly raised his laser rifle, aimed at the noble commander in front, and slowly pulled the trigger...
"shhhhhh"
Accompanied by a series of light gunshots, before people could react, several light blue lasers passed through the crowd and rushed towards the noble commander in the front like lightning.
There were a few muffled "puff" sounds, which were the sounds of the laser hitting the wall.
However, the sneak attack soldier hadn't anticipated that his carefully planned attack would actually miss its target. The lasers from the lasgun landed on the fortress wall, leaving behind several charred streaks.
It wasn't because the soldier's marksmanship was poor, nor was it because the noble commander had successfully dodged or avoided the attack. In fact, just as these lasers were about to hit the noble commander, they suddenly changed direction.
As if affected by some mysterious force, they deviated from their original tracks and were unable to cause any harm to the noble commander.
"You traitor! How dare you betray me? I will kill you with my own hands!"
The noble commander, having recovered from the attack, turned around angrily, his eyes fixed on the attacking soldier.
This noble commander has received strict military training since childhood and possesses keen combat intuition and excellent tactical qualities.
The moment he was attacked, he reacted quickly, accurately determined the attacker's location, and immediately locked onto the target.
His eyes were as sharp as an eagle's as he stared at the soldier, with a cold light flashing in his eyes, as if he could penetrate the enemy's soul.
If he hadn't received the Emperor's blessing, he might have died on the spot in this sudden attack. Thinking of this, a strong murderous intent surged in his heart, and he was filled with hatred and anger towards the attacker.
"What's going on? How dare he attack the noble?"
A soldier asked in astonishment, unable to understand why anyone would be so bold as to launch an attack on a noble.
"Damn it, you dare to betray me, my Lord."
Another soldier cursed with gnashing teeth, expressing extreme indignation at this betrayal.
"This crime is unforgivable," echoed the third soldier. They all believed that the attacker should be severely punished.
The soldiers who reacted angrily shouted at the soldier and aimed their laser guns at him, ready to kill him on the spot.
However, just as everyone was about to pull the trigger and kill the soldier who attacked the noble, the noble commander suddenly raised his arm and shouted:
"Stop! Don't attack that traitor. I want to kill him myself."
"Yes, sir," the soldiers responded in unison.
Despite the noble commander's order to stop firing, they remained vigilant, ready to respond to any possible threats. If the soldier made any unusual movement, they would pull the trigger and kill the traitor.
The noble commander slowly drew out the single-molecule command knife from his waist with an expressionless face, stared at the soldier who attacked him with cold eyes, and walked towards him step by step.
With every step he took, a low and majestic voice came out of his mouth, as if questioning the soldier's soul.
"Why did you betray me? I thought I treated you well, why did you do this?"
After the sneak attack failed, the soldier's face showed despair and anger, and he seemed to have decided to vent his inner depression at all costs.
He roared at the noble commander, "I just want to survive! Is that wrong? We lost all our comrades almost instantly, and yet you still want to keep fighting! What's the point of all this?"
The noble commander stopped and looked quietly at the crazy soldier in front of him, a hint of helplessness flashing in his eyes. He took a deep breath and replied in a firm tone:
"Everyone hopes to survive, but when faced with the invasion of that evil heretic, all we can do is unite and resist the invaders together. Only then can we survive."
After saying that, the noble commander stepped forward again, his steps steady and powerful, the single-molecule command knife in his hand flashing with cold light, and he quickly approached the soldier.
"Even if ordinary people like us choose to surrender, we might still have a chance of survival. But you nobles are burdened with power and wealth, and cannot easily give up everything. This is also the biggest reason why you are unwilling to surrender."
The soldier continued to yell hysterically.
As the noble commander approached, the soldier became more and more excited. He kept pulling the trigger on his weapon, and lasers kept shooting out from his laser gun, trying to stop the noble commander from approaching.
But the noble commander was agile and easily avoided the attacks. Even some attacks that were not avoided were deflected without warning, and the lasers were shot far away.
"Since you have chosen to betray, you must bear the consequences." The noble commander said coldly.
The noble commander quickly approached the soldier and swung the single-molecule command knife in his hand, slashing at the soldier's neck.
The soldier reacted quickly and raised the laser gun in his hand to block the incoming attack.
"呲"
The sharp single-molecule command knife easily cut through the laser gun in front of it, and the soldier's head was also chopped off. It was held in the hands of the noble commander, and the soldier's headless body fell powerlessly to the ground.
The noble commander looked at another soldier lying on the ground, seriously injured, and asked, "Do you have anything to say about his sudden attack?"
"My lord, his sneak attack was too swift. I didn't have time to react and warn you."
The soldier lying on the ground spoke weakly and with difficulty.
There was no trace of the look on his face when he had just given advice to the soldier. Now he was like a frightened ostrich, responding timidly.
