Guns and Coffee in the World of Science
Chapter 242: Peaceful Years (Finale)
The aftermath of the riot surged like huge waves in the port of Nagasaki. This once prosperous seaport has become a battlefield tonight.
Countless frantic figures shuttled through the crowd, the sounds of violent gunfire and shouts of killing intertwined into one, and the air was filled with the stench of gunpowder and blood.
The glass windows on the road were smashed to pieces, and countless bullet holes and bloodstains were left on the dilapidated walls of the buildings.
People were either trying to escape or attacking frantically, and countless innocent lives had been lost.
However, in this chaotic harbor, fishing boats were quietly and slowly sailing in from afar.
The shabby and weathered hulls have long been eroded by time. They were originally tools for fishing at sea, but now they have become secret carriers.
Each fishing boat is manned by several strong and stern-looking young men, who step silently into this no longer peaceful land like shadows in the night.
Their movements were very quick and orderly, and what they unloaded were not fishing nets, but neatly arranged weapons and equipment.
There was an unusual focus and determination in everyone's eyes, and that kind of desire, as if they had been preparing for this for a long time.
Their clothes are simple but extremely compact, revealing a temperament different from ordinary people - that kind of trained efficiency and calmness.
Everyone's pace was almost synchronized, without any words, as if everything had already been set in their minds.
Soon, the last fishing boat finally docked. A tall middle-aged man walked down from the bow of the boat. His figure looked particularly majestic under the dim light.
He was wearing a simple black T-shirt, his eyes were sharp and firm, and the traces of time on his face made him look more majestic.
The middle-aged man walked onto the dock and looked at the young men who had already gathered.
A young man immediately came up, stood up straight with his chest out, his eyes full of respect and determination.
He stood straight and whispered, "Commander, everyone is assembled! Please give instructions!"
The middle-aged man raised his hand and motioned everyone to wait. He took a deep breath and seemed a little displeased with the words of the young man in front of him.
After a moment, he spoke in an annoyed tone, "I'll emphasize three points! First, watch your accent! We don't want to be mistaken for outsiders here; speaking casually will reveal our identities. Second, call me Captain, not Chief! Do you understand?"
His voice was low and powerful, and every word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth, carrying an unquestionable deterrent force.
The young man reacted immediately and quickly changed his words: "Yes! Captain!" He straightened his chest, his tone firm but a little nervous.
"third!"
The captain's words were tinged with impatience: "Don't ask me how to use the fishing nets anymore. I don't know how either! I can only get the boat to this point. Don't expect me to teach you anything else!"
The young man was stunned for a moment, then smiled. This was really difficult for him, but he still nodded according to the captain's instructions: "Yes! Captain!"
"One last thing. No need to report before speaking! Act according to the plan." The captain's eyes became more determined. "This time, we have no time to waste. Once the mission is completed, evacuate immediately. Do you understand?"
All the team members responded in unison: "Yes!"
The captain glanced around and saw that there was no wavering expression on everyone's face, so he nodded slightly.
He waved his hand, signaling everyone to disperse.
Without any hesitation, the young "fishermen" each picked up their equipment and quickly set off towards the designated target location.
The entire team moved with machine-like efficiency and precision, meticulously controlling every detail. Their goal was clear, and they couldn't afford to lose.
"It's really... like a dream..." He whispered to himself, his eyes as sharp as a knife, cutting through the night sky.
---
A few months later.
US President John Trump is standing at the foot of the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island in the United States, delivering a passionate speech in front of thousands of reporters and cameras.
Every word seemed to be squeezed out of his throat, full of anger and unwillingness.
"Japan has always been protected by the United States. I strongly condemn China's unauthorized stationing of troops in Japan and its expulsion of our American troops..."
His voice was full of dominance and confidence. The huge screen on Liberty Island amplified his every word and spread it all over the world. Behind him, the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of American freedom and power, seemed to be witnessing this political storm.
However, in a hotel two kilometers away from Freedom Island where Achuan spoke, another scene was quietly unfolding.
The lights in the hotel room were dim. Pu Siqinglan held a black sniper rifle tightly in both hands, her eyes fixed on the president on Liberty Island. Through the high-magnification scope, her gaze was as sharp as a knife.
Achuan on the screen behaved excitedly, and every word he said invisibly aroused her disgust.
She smiled lightly, the corners of her mouth slightly raised, and murmured disdainfully: "How shameless..."
Wakasa Rumi, who was sitting on the rooftop, didn't care about what Achuan said. She recorded the environmental data with an indifferent expression and sent the data to Pu Siqinglan's monitor.
She narrowed her eyes and mumbled, "Come on! Hurry up and get to work. After we finish this order, we'll have plenty of money for the rest of our lives!"
Pu Siqinglan responded to Wakasa with a lazy "Hi hi hi", and didn't seem to be annoyed by her urging.
Her eyes continued to be fixed on Agawa, who was giving an impassioned speech on Liberty Island. Wakasa's gentle reminder came from the earphones: "Remember to manage your time and don't delay too long. We will evacuate after the mission is completed."
She nodded slightly, adjusted the angle of the gun muzzle, and gradually aimed the sight at Achuan's head.
She took a deep breath and pulled the trigger decisively.
"boom!"
---
Tokyo, Jingxin Coffee Shop.
The air inside the store is filled with the rich aroma of coffee and desserts, and the warm light pouring in through the large windows creates a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.
Chen Shuo sat leisurely on a sofa chair in the corner, holding a cup of freshly brewed coffee in his hand. On the TV screen, Achuan's speech was interrupted by sudden gunshots, blood splattered, and a chaotic scene spread. The reporters on the screen screamed and fled, and the sound of sirens echoed throughout New York.
Chen Shuo took a sip of coffee and closed his eyes slightly, as if savoring the tranquility.
“Well done~~~”
He whispered to himself with a relieved smile on his face, leisurely enjoying his afternoon.
He changed to a more comfortable sitting position, placed the coffee cup on the table easily, and turned his gaze to the little boy with glasses sitting opposite him.
"Speaking of which...shouldn't you be busy right now? Why do you still have time to come here?"
Chen Shuo asked casually, with a hint of curiosity in his tone.
Conan raised his head, rolled his eyes at Chen Shuo, then lowered his head and continued eating the cake.
He picked up a piece of cake with a fork, put it into his mouth, and chewed it exaggeratedly, as if it were Chen Shuo's meat.
"Who do you think is to blame for being so busy?"
He paused, then took the opportunity to vent loudly: "At first, I just wanted the right to rule the Tokyo underworld, but you gave me the right to rule the entire Continental Hotel! I'm just an elementary school student! That's fine..."
Conan's excitement seemed to be uncontrollable. He even jumped up from his chair with his arms open, as if he was going to pounce on Chen Shuo.
"Now the affairs of the entire country are handed over to me to handle. Isn't this too exaggerated?"
Chen Shuo shook the coffee cup in his hand nonchalantly and replied with a smile, "Uh...it's not a big deal! Xiao Ai is already working hard to develop an antidote. By then, you won't be an elementary school student anymore, but a high school student!"
“Is this a matter of age?!”
A trace of madness appeared on Conan's face, and he was about to go crazy, but at this moment he suddenly felt his body involuntarily suspended in the air.
He subconsciously looked back and saw a dark-skinned, blond young man with a gentle smile on his face, who was lifting him up easily, as if he was just a doll as light as a feather.
"Really? You disappeared without a trace."
Amuro Toru's voice was somewhat helpless. He looked at Conan with a smile and said, "When you have rested enough, come back with me to handle official business."
Conan was still struggling, waving his hands and shouting unwillingly: "At least wait until I finish eating the cake!"
Amuro Toru ignored him and walked towards the entrance of the coffee shop with Conan in his arms, while Miyano Akemi chased after him, shouting, "Amuro! Your salary for this month is gone again!"
As Toru Amuro carried Conan out of the coffee shop, Miyano Akemi followed closely behind. Chen Shuo exhaled lightly, a smile on his face: "The years are quiet and good."
