Chapter 18 A little thought

Rong Dahai, who was sitting at the same table, couldn't hold his temper anymore and stood up. "Dashan, please sit here. I remembered your sister-in-law hasn't eaten yet. Let me give her a bowl first."

His wife was in poor health and had been bedridden for years. Fortunately, he could earn some income from hunting, otherwise she would have died long ago.

His son Rong Xiaochuan didn't understand what his father meant and said first, "Dad, Aunt Dashan just served a bowl of rice. Mom is fine, you can eat your meal in peace."

Rong Dahai glared at his son, making Rong Dashan even more at a loss. "Brother Dahai, please sit down. I'm looking for a place to eat."

At this point, Rong Erhe seemed to finally understand what was going on. He looked embarrassed and said, "Brother, look at what's going on. Xiaobao is hungry, and the food is hot. I'm afraid he'll get burned. How about you sit down and feed Xiaobao, and I'll sit in the next row?"

The table was filled with Rong brothers, all of whom felt Rong Erhe was being inconsiderate and doting on his son. Not to mention the fact that he'd taken his eldest brother's seat to protect his child, the whole table was filled with adults, and a child came in to grab some food with his hands and mouth, not worried about being criticized.

Before Rong Dashan could refuse, Rong Xiaobao refused, twisting his body like a twisted dough stick, "No, no, I don't want uncle to feed me, I want dad to feed me."

Rong Dashan's honest and dull face flushed red, and he felt a surge of shame in his heart. He stammered, almost shrilly, "You guys eat, you guys eat, I'll eat with your sister-in-law later."

Rong Erhe apologized, "Look at what a mess this has caused, Xiaobao, why don't you thank your uncle?"

Rong Xiaobao stuck out his tongue, not caring about the heat, and grabbed the bone with his hands and started chewing it.

Rong Dahai looked indignant and got up from his seat, stroking Rong Xiaobao's head with his hand, "Xiaobao, Uncle Dahai doesn't want to eat anymore, you should eat more." But he stared at Rong Erhe coldly.

Rong Erhe shouted, "Brother Dahai, what do you mean? Are you angry with a child? How much can a little kid eat? There's so much food here that even eight adults can't finish it."

Rong Dahai spoke word by word, "If you can't finish it, you can take it away and continue feeding your son at night."

Seeing that a conflict was about to occur, the other brothers hurriedly persuaded them to maintain their dignity outside Master Rong's courtyard.

Rong Dashan felt that everyone was saying that he was disrespectful, and his face turned even redder. He had always been gentle and shy, and because he had no son, he felt inferior to others every day. He wanted to escape back home immediately, hoping to hide there for the rest of his life and never go out again.

Just as he took two steps back, he heard Chuncao's voice, "Uncle Dashan, Uncle Dashan, where are you? The young master asked to call you!"

Chuncao looked around and finally saw him, and walked towards him, "Uncle Dashan, please leave. There is a seat at the main hall. I am waiting for you alone."

Rong Dashan strained to open his sore eyes and asked in disbelief, "Call me? To sit at the table?"

"Ah! They're calling you. The old men all say that you are the next generation leader of the Rong family. They are old now, so everything will be discussed between you and the village chief and the young master. Go quickly!"

Rong Dashan blinked a few times, swallowed back the moisture that was about to burst out of his eyes, and followed Chuncao into the courtyard.

Everyone who saw this, whether from the Rong family, the Li family, or the Wang family, was envious. Rong Dashan had caught the young master's eye and would become a favorite in his eyes. He would definitely receive many benefits in the future.

Rong Dahai smiled widely and sat down again. "Come, let's eat and drink."

The brothers at the table breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that the matter had been resolved. Rong Daqing broke the seal on the wine jar and poured wine for his brothers. "Brothers, it has been so many years since we, the people of Rongjia Village, have gathered together in such a lively and cheerful manner. Now that the Jian'an Earl's Mansion has an heir named Rong, our clan has confidence and support, and we no longer have to worry about being bullied by outsiders. Let's drink this bowl of wine, work hard in the future, and live our lives again."

All the brothers raised their bowls and drank deeply, but Rong Erhe alone felt a burning pain on his face. The meat on the table no longer tasted good, and the wine that he had been reluctant to buy in the past also lost its appeal.

He actually felt a little regretful at this moment. What had happened to him just now? He actually killed his elder brother's face for Xiaobao!

He refused to admit that he had an idea brewing in his mind, and Xiaobao was just an excuse for him to suppress his elder brother.

When Rong Dashan entered the yard, he saw Daya hiding behind the door. When she saw him, she wanted to say something but hesitated. Finally, she grabbed Chuncao's hand worriedly.

Chuncao patted her and said, "It's okay. Go home and bring Erya and Sanya. There are plenty of vegetables and meat today. Invite all the girls from the village who didn't come to eat together. They are all children from the village, boys and girls alike."

Daya agreed and watched her father go into the main hall. She had just seen her second uncle bullying her father, and nervously told Sister Chuncao about his embarrassing situation. Sister Chuncao came to rescue her father, but said that the elders and the young master in the main hall had invited her father to come in and take a seat.

But she knew that her father was not invited to sit at the table in the main hall.

As soon as Rong Dashan entered the main hall, he received several surprised looks, including from his father. Rong Dashan was honest but sensitive, and felt as if he had made a mistake and done something ridiculous.

This honest man always blames himself even when he is cheated by others.

Chuncao generously brought him a stool, right to Rong Tang's right. This was the most honorable seat besides Rong Tang's main seat.

"Uncle Dashan, please sit here. The young master will discuss something very important with you later. Please don't be shy."

Rong Tang didn't know what had happened, but since Chuncao had brought Rong Dashan to the main hall, there must be a reason for it. He said cooperatively, "Uncle Dashan, please sit down. We've been waiting for you."

The three grandfathers, two clan leaders, and the village chief exchanged inquiring glances with each other, not knowing what was going on. However, Rong Tang particularly looked up to Rong Dashan, which didn't seem to be a bad thing.

Master Rong San said, "There are no outsiders here, so just sit here." Rong Dashan was absolutely unwilling to sit in this seat, and finally gave up after exchanging seats with Master San.

The dishes were served in four large bowls, with meat and ribs, a bowl of vegetable stew, and a bowl of noodles with chicken soup.

Very simple and down to earth.

Chuncao placed another bowl in front of each person, and Gui Ergou enthusiastically filled all the bowls.

"Elders, let's start."

After Rong Tang finished speaking, the Third Master said, "Young Master, you go first."

Rong Tang knew that this was a rule they followed to show respect for his status. If he didn't pick up his chopsticks, they wouldn't dare to start eating.

Just as he was about to pick up his chopsticks to pick up some food, someone outside the door shouted, "Rong Tang, you ate my pig, are you really so content to eat it all by yourself and not share a piece of the pie?"

Rong Tang frowned when he heard this. The voice sounded familiar, and it was someone who could not be offended.

He had no choice but to put down his chopsticks and walk out of the main hall to greet the man. He saw that many men in the village who were eating and drinking stood up and looked at the newcomer as if they were facing a great enemy, as if they would attack him immediately if there was anything wrong.

The reason why he didn't try to stop the man was that this man was followed by two men with long swords on their backs. They had cold faces and murderous aura. It was obvious that they were ruthless people who had killed people.
