Reborn as the spoiled male wife of the mortal enemy

Chapter 66 I Don’t Want to Be Your Second Aunt

Qing'an Garden is the oldest and largest theater in He'an County.

The exterior walls, made of blue brick and gray tiles, were slightly mottled, lending the theater a touch of antiquity. A gilded plaque hung above the lintel, inscribed with the three characters "Qing'an Garden." The calligraphy, flowing and graceful, with a rich and powerful brushstroke, was instantly recognizable as the work of a master.

"Oh, it's Second Young Master Bai!"

The man who came was a middle-aged man in a black suit. He was slightly overweight, had a mustache, a slicked-back hair, and his leather shoes were polished to a shine.

Although he was talking to Bai Xun, his eyes, sparkling with shrewdness, were fixed on Nan Chun who was beside Bai Xun.

"Boss Zheng." Bai Xun shook hands with him.

"We haven't seen each other for a while. I just came back from Ancheng. May I know who this young man is?" Zheng Jiufu asked.

"He is my lover, Nanchun." Bai Xun said.

"Oh, so this is the legendary Second Young Madam!"

Zheng Jiufu had a loud voice, and as soon as he spoke, he immediately attracted the attention of people around him.

For a moment, everyone looked at Nanchun as if they were watching a monkey show.

"Nice to meet you!" Nanchun said, extending his hand.

Zheng Jiufu smiled at the people around him and said, "Don't bully your friend's wife. I wouldn't dare..."

The people around him burst out laughing when they heard this.

Bai Xun grabbed Nanchun's hand and said calmly, "You and I are not friends! According to seniority, you should still call me Second Uncle."

Nanchun looked at the person in front of him and said in surprise, "Boss Zheng looks to be over sixty, right? Having a nephew this old out of nowhere...it's really scary. Please don't call me second aunt. If you do, I'll have to give you a red envelope. Forget it! Forget it!"

After saying that, he pulled Bai Xun towards the theater.

Nanchun's voice was even louder than Zheng Jiufu's, and people around could hear it clearly.

Everyone looked at each other and burst into laughter.

Zheng Jiufu blushed with embarrassment.

I wanted to embarrass the man's wife, but I ended up being the one who got the better of me.

He was so angry that he glared at those who were laughing and roared, "Shut up! I'm only forty!"

"Isn't this Jiufu? We come to the theater to have fun. Why are you so angry? Who has offended you again?"

The man was wearing a silk robe and a mandarin jacket, a melon-shaped hat on his head, a dragon-headed cane in his hand, and his white beard was neatly trimmed.

"Master Jiang!"

"Hello Mr. Jiang!"

When Zheng Jiufu saw the person coming, his originally angry face was instantly replaced with a carefully crafted mask called "flattery".

His eyes narrowed into slits, and an exaggerated smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, revealing a row of uneven yellow teeth.

"Master Jiang, you are here!"

Jiang Yuanhai stopped, tapped the ground twice with his dragon-headed cane, and looked at him expressionlessly.

"After going to Ancheng, have you forgotten all the rules here? Or is it that you're just enjoying the shade of a big tree and don't care about anyone anymore?"

Zheng Jiufu was horrified and hurriedly explained, "Master Jiang, how could I do that? How could I dare? Speaking of trees, you are the towering tree. Who in He'an County can surpass you?"

Jiang Yuanhai snorted coldly and said, "Take care of yourself!"

After saying that, he took a few people into the theater.

"That person just now is President Jiang Yuanhai, the head of the He'an County Chamber of Commerce, right?" The thin man in a long gown next to Zheng Jiufu asked with his eyes rolling.

Zheng Jiufu gritted his teeth and said viciously, "You old bastard, you're almost buried! Sooner or later, I'll take your place!"

"Yes, yes, Boss Zheng, you just need to work together with Young Marshal Li and make a fortune together! What about the Bai family, the Zheng family, the Han family... He'an County will all follow your lead in the future!" The thin man said with a flattering smile.

"Let's go to the opera!"

Zheng Jiufu smiled and walked forward proudly.

In the center of the spacious and bright courtyard of the theater stood a series of rockery. Clear springs cascaded down from the layers of rocky peaks, forming slender waterfalls.

The pool beneath the waterfall is crystal clear, with a few goldfish swimming leisurely in the water. The rockery is surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers.

Across the courtyard lies the theater building, adorned with soaring eaves and carved beams and painted buildings. Entering the building, the first thing you see is a brand new stage. Opposite the stage, rows of seats are already filled with fans who have come to admire the theater.

"Second Young Master Bai, you're such a rare guest! I've invited you to the opera before, but you never came. Could it be that you're here for Chun Xiao as well?"

A young man in a white suit, sunglasses, and playing with a jade fan in his hand walked towards them with a smile.

"Master Jiang, long time no see."

"Hmph, I do want to see you, but you don't give me the chance! Every time I ask you to watch a play or have a drink, you always refuse." Jiang Wenjie took off his sunglasses and his eyes fell on his and Nanchun's clasped hands.

Nanchun let go of her hand awkwardly and smiled at him.

"Is this the one from your family?" Jiang Wenjie raised his eyebrows and looked at Nanchun.

"This is my love, Nanchun. Let's leave it like this for now. The show is about to start, so we need to take our seats." Bai Xun said.

Seeing Bai Xun and Nan Chun heading towards the open seats, Jiang Wenjie stopped them and said, "Bai Er, you're too stingy! You can't even afford to book a private room when you bring people out to see a play?"

"I hadn't planned on coming to the theater. This ticket was given to me yesterday. Later, I sent someone to the theater to inquire, and they said all the tickets were sold out."

"Come on, come on, follow me upstairs." Jiang Wenjie said as he pulled the two of them to the private room upstairs.

Jiang Yuanhai saw this scene on the second floor, put down his teacup, and asked, "Old Yu, is the person with Wenjie the second son of the Bai family and his male wife?"

A middle-aged man with a goatee beside him quickly replied, "Yes, these two were the ones who had the argument with Zheng Jiufu at the theater gate just now. I've never seen Second Young Master Bai come to the theater before, so I guess he's here today because of that man's wife."

Jiang Yuanhai was thoughtful after hearing this.

Old Yu picked up the teapot and added some tea to him.

"I really can't understand it. The Bai family is wealthy and powerful, and the second young master is both virtuous and talented, and he's also very handsome. Why does he insist on believing in that bullshit theory of fate and marrying a man from a poor family as his legal wife, causing others to laugh at him?"

Jiang Yuanhai said: "Although the Bai family is conservative in some matters, Bai Yishui has a good vision. He must have his own purpose for doing this.

Let's not talk about anything else, just that child. Although he came from a poor family, he never showed any fear in public. He was quick to react, had a sharp mind, and was very eloquent.

Old Yu thought of the scene he had witnessed at the theater gate and couldn't help but smile. "Indeed, this is the first time I've seen someone so speechless as to make Zheng Jiufu, a man with a face thicker than a city wall, speechless."

"No matter what your background is, you can achieve great things only if you don't feel inferior or belittle yourself," said Jiang Yuanhai.
