Reborn as the spoiled male wife of the mortal enemy

Chapter 31: My people are mine, so I can’t make the decision?

Breakfast was delivered from the kitchenette.

The table was filled with eggs, fried dough sticks, steamed buns, pot stickers, soy milk, chicken soup wontons, shredded chicken noodles, and a few delicious side dishes.

"Just the two of us eating?" Nanchun was stunned.

"Ah."

"This is too much!"

"I didn't know what you usually eat for breakfast, so I asked the kitchen to make some more dishes." Bai Xun smiled, "In the future, please tell the kitchen in advance what you want to eat."

Nanchun ate some chicken soup wontons, which were fresh, fragrant and delicious, much better than those sold at the wonton stalls in the county town.

“It’s delicious!”

After saying that, he began to eat voraciously.

Bai Xun ate slowly and gracefully, savoring every bite. Occasionally, he would put down his chopsticks and watch Nanchun devour his food with a smile on his face.

A bowl of chicken soup with wontons, a fried dough stick, a few buns and pot stickers, and an egg.

Nanchun burped, leaned back in his chair contentedly, and touched his bulging belly.

"Really delicious."

Bai Xun smiled slightly and put down his chopsticks.

"Meow..."

A white long-haired lion cat nimbly jumped over the threshold and walked in.

"Kitten!" Nanchun walked over and picked it up in surprise.

In his previous life, Bai Xun took this cat to another courtyard, saying that he was afraid that he would be bored, so he left it to him to entertain him.

Kitten is its name.

Bai Xun looked in surprise at the kitten nestled in Nanchun's arms, rubbing his cheek affectionately.

"It's always been very shy and doesn't like to be close to people, but it's not shy at all with you."

Nanchun grinned and kissed the kitten's head.

"What's its name?"

"I usually call it kitten." Bai Xun said.

Nanchun knew that Baixun was afraid of cats because Ah Fu had told him about it in his previous life.

When Bai Xun was a child, he was hurt by his cousin's cat and has always disliked cats.

The kitten was thrown into his yard by the young master as a prank.

Even though he was afraid of cats, Bai Xun still raised the kitten well.

Nanchun thought at the time that she was just like this kitten. Although Bai Xun didn't like it, he still took it as his responsibility and took good care of it.

"Kitten, kitten, kitten..." Nanchun called its name happily.

"Second Young Master, I'm sorry, I didn't keep an eye on the kitten for a moment." Lu He hurried over.

"It's okay, don't confine it in the future. It is close to Nanchun, so move its nest to the next room." Bai Xun said as he looked at Nanchun who was teasing the cat.

Lu He's eyes flashed and she replied, "Yes."

This was the time when Nanchun was running all over the mountain. He was a little uncomfortable with having all of a sudden free time.

Bai Xun sat at the desk reading a book, while he played with the kitten on the couch.

"Do you read books at home every day?" Nanchun asked.

"I will also take care of the family shop. But I am newly married and at home these days, so I don't have to take care of it for the time being."

"Then what can I do?" Nanchun asked him while lying on the couch with her face in her hands.

Bai Xun had never thought about this.

Rich families didn't have to farm; they had servants to do the housework and someone to run the shop. Marrying a wife and bringing home children was their top priority.

Bai Xun put down the book, walked up to him, and chuckled, "Just stay with me."

Nanchun pursed her lips. Bai Xun had said this too many times in her previous life.

He was in poor health at the time and really couldn't do anything.

But now he is strong and healthy, how can he just lie at home and eat free meals?

"Second Young Master, Second Young Madam. Mother Lan from the old lady's courtyard is here again." Ah Fu said standing at the door.

Bai Xun patted Nanchun's shoulder, stood up and walked towards the door.

"Second Young Master, where is the Second Young Madam?" Mother Lan smiled wryly and peered into the room with a pair of cunning eyes.

Bai Xun closed the door, blocking her view, and said calmly, "What do you want from him?"

"It's like this. The old lady said that the second young lady never learned the rules before. Now that she has entered the Bai family and become the legal wife, she still has to learn some rules." Mother Lan knew that Nanchun was in the room and deliberately raised her voice.

Nanchun frowned. How could he not know that Old Lady Bai disliked him and was deliberately making things difficult for him?

Bai Xun snorted coldly and said, "We're newlyweds, so there's no rush to learn the rules. Go talk to grandmother and we'll talk about it later. Nanchun must stay with me."

"This..." Mother Lan hesitated to speak.

"What? They are my people, and I can't make the decision?" Bai Xun looked at her coldly.

Mother Lan had no choice but to agree with a humble look.

Nan Chun looked at Bai Xun who opened the door and came in with a happy smile.

"You're so nice!"

Bai Xun was slightly startled when he heard this, then curled the corners of his lips.

"Want to read a book?"

When Nanchun heard this, she buried her face in the cat and said sullenly, "No way!"

"Where is the story collection comic book?" Bai Xun asked him with a smile.

Nanchun suddenly raised her head, her eyes sparkling.

"need!"

Bai Xun asked Ah Fu to find two people to carry the box in from the warehouse.

Nanchun stared in amazement at the box full of books in front of him.

"These are shipped from Yangcheng. They are said to be the most fashionable ones at the moment."

The room became quiet, and Bai Xun looked up at Nanchun.

I saw Nanchun sitting on the couch, concentrating on reading the storybook in her hand, and the kitten lying beside Nanchun, sleeping soundly.

He was fascinated by the story, his brows furrowed at times, his lips curled up at others, as if he was completely immersed in the world of the story.

Jingyuan is peaceful and tranquil, but Mrs. Bai's courtyard is not so harmonious.

Mother Lan conveyed the second young master's words word for word to Mrs. Bai.

Mrs. Bai called Xu Huiling and Wu Yiren over, originally wanting to let them see how she could control the man's wife and how to humiliate him.

Unexpectedly, she was made a laughing stock!

Mrs. Bai was so angry that her face turned blue. She clenched her Buddhist beads tightly in her hands, and her eyes were full of anger.

She glared at Mother Lan, her voice filled with suppressed anger as she said, "Xun'er, did you really say that?"

Mother Lan quickly replied, "It's absolutely true. I wouldn't dare lie. Cui Ju was listening right beside me!"

After saying that, she glanced at Aster behind her.

"Yes, madam, the second young master did say that. The man's wife has never shown up in the room." Cui Ju replied.

After hearing this, Mrs. Bai became even more furious: "How dare he?"

Xu Huiling and Wu Yiren stood aside, not daring to speak. They had expected to see how Mrs. Bai would punish the male wife, but they hadn't expected this outcome.

Seeing Mrs. Bai's grim expression, Xu Huiling smiled and said, "Oh, Auntie, what Xun'er said is right. He's newlywed, and his wife should really spend more time with him."

Wu Yiren frowned and whispered, "What a vixen!"

Mrs. Bai took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She knew she couldn't lose face and composure in front of them.

With a gloomy face, she said to Lan's mother, "You have to think carefully about how to discipline our unruly Second Young Mistress in the next few days."

Mother Lan nodded quickly and said, "This old servant will definitely train him to be respectful and well-behaved."
