Chapter 111: Hair Bath (Part )
Tao Yao was very thin, and her shadow cast on the screen looked like a thin leaf, making people worry that a gust of wind would blow her away and break her into pieces.
The windows were wide open, letting the sunlight and breeze flow into the room unobstructed. The sunlight shone on her body, and the breeze blew her hair. Everything looked so quiet and beautiful.
Lu Che held the teacup tightly and suddenly thought, if only it could go on like this forever.
If he could avoid revenge, avoid leaving Tao Yao alone to go to the desert, and he would not have to go to the capital alone to accomplish things that seem like fantasy now.
It would be great if I could just live like this, without any worries or storms...
Lu Che thought of Chu Huanjun's words. If he wasn't strong enough to protect himself, how could he protect others?
Although he hated Chu Huanjun, it was undeniable that what he said was not wrong.
I don’t know what Chu Huanjun thinks of Tao Yao, but what is certain is that he is definitely not a good person. If Tao Yao gets together with him, it will be the end of her.
Lu Che's grip on the teacup tightened unconsciously, almost crushing the cup.
If only he really didn't need revenge, he could take Tao Yao back to his hometown with him, and the two of them could find a job to make a living, and they would definitely be able to live a stable and happy life. In this way, Tao Yao wouldn't have to face all the dangers and storms alone.
But the next moment, Lu Che immediately denied the thought in his mind and felt ashamed for having such an idea.
How could he possibly think that? The spirits of his father and his tribe had yet to rest in peace, and he was the only one left in the Moon Worshiping Tribe. He wanted revenge.
Behind the screen, there was another sound of gurgling water. Tao Yao had finally finished washing her hair. She sat on a small stool, half-bent over, gathering her washed hair in her palms and wringing it dry.
The aroma of osmanthus hair oil drifted in from behind the screen along with the warm mist, enveloping Lu Che in all directions and enveloping him in a refreshing fragrance.
This was the scent that belonged only to a woman's boudoir. Lu Che sat there, suddenly feeling somewhat out of place. But looking around, it seemed like no place he could go or stand would be appropriate, so he settled down to sit beside the small coffee table.
After a while, Tao Yao came out from behind the screen. She had learned her lesson and found a blouse to cover herself. Perhaps she had finally noticed Lu Che's embarrassment.
Tao Yao took a dry towel and draped it over her shoulders, letting her still-dripping hair hang casually over them. As she wiped her hair, she walked over to the coffee table and sat across from Lu Che.
In order to ease the awkwardness, Lu Che wanted to make tea for Tao Yao, but Tao Yao also wanted to make tea, and their hands suddenly bumped into each other on the handle of the teapot.
Lu Che's hand froze there, unable to pull it back or extend it forward. Tao Yao, however, sympathetically gave him the teapot, her expression remaining calm, as if nothing had happened.
But the atmosphere was clearly becoming tense. Lu Che picked a clean teacup and brewed some tea. Just as the cup was full, he for some unknown reason poured the tea out of the cup and muttered, "Uh, this tea looks like it's been sitting there overnight. It's cold and stale. I'll make you a new pot."
"no thanks."
Tao Yao smiled and took the teapot back from Lu Che, then filled the empty cup in front of her.
"Lu Che, I'm not that particular."
After saying this, Taoyao held the teacup in her hand and drank the tea in one breath. She had just washed her hair with hot water, and now her mouth was very dry. She drank several cups in a row, but in the end, she felt that the tea was not satisfying, so she simply held the teapot and poured the tea into her mouth.
Lu Che felt a little embarrassed watching from the side - she was indeed not that particular, she was straightforward and clean. Compared to his shy attitude just now, Tao Yao seemed much more generous.
After finishing the tea, Tao Yao wiped the tea from the corner of her mouth with satisfaction. Suddenly, as if she remembered something, she smiled at Lu Che a little embarrassedly, revealing two small white fangs.
"You don't mind, do you? If you do, we can ask the waiter to bring a new pot later."
Lu Che immediately shook his head. How could he mind her? He was overjoyed that she was willing to be close to him.
At this moment, a "gurgling" sound suddenly came from somewhere. Tao Yao touched her belly a little embarrassedly and said with a smile: "It's me, I'm hungry."
After saying that, Tao Yao stood up and went to look for the large sack in the corner. In the sack were the lotus date buns they had bought at the market earlier. They had been so busy fighting with Chu Huanjun that they hadn't even had time to eat a single bun.
Tao Yao hadn't eaten properly all day. She grabbed three steamed buns from the sack and walked over. She threw one to Lu Che and put a bun bigger than her face in her own hand and started to eat it without any hesitation.
"Eat quickly! Don't starve to death! We need to save our energy for the journey."
Tao Yao wolfed down her steamed bun while urging Lu Che to eat as well. Lu Che wasn't actually hungry. As an assassin, he often had to stay hungry when on missions. This allowed him to stay alert and have enough energy to deal with emergencies and dangers. Therefore, he was used to starving himself and never allowed himself to eat enough.
Seeing Tao Yao was ravenously hungry, Lu Che handed over the steamed bun in his hand and said with a smile, "I'm not hungry. If you like it, eat more."
Tao Yao looked at him suspiciously, but didn't bother to be polite. She just stuffed the steamed bun he handed her into her mouth and started chewing it.
After eating too many dry buns, Taoyao felt a lump in her throat and went to find the teapot for water. Before she had finished her buns, she had already drunk all three pots of tea in the room.
Tao Yao was about to call the waiter for some tea when Lu Che stopped her. The next moment, Tao Yao felt a bulging brocade bag pressed into her hand. She looked down and saw it was a purse stuffed with copper coins.
Tao Yao was surprised and delighted as she held the purse in her palm, weighing it. She smiled and asked, "Lu Che, where did you get so much money?"
"All my wealth is here." Lu Che smiled and exchanged glances with her. "Let's go? Let's go out for something to eat?"
Taoyao's greed instantly came out, but her rational mind was still fighting against her appetite. She refused sternly with a serious face: "No, no, you said the same thing last time. Who knows how much money you have? If you spend all your money, we won't be able to go back home. I think we should just eat the steamed buns honestly."
