Chapter 93: Chasing Dreams and Starting the Journey
Chasing dreams and embarking on a journey
The arrival of Master Hao was like a beacon, illuminating our confused path. The parchment scroll in his hand exuded an ancient and mysterious aura, as if telling a long-forgotten legend.
"This is an ancient scroll I came across by chance," Master Hao said, pointing to the intricate patterns on the parchment. "It contains some information about the Spirit Pearl, which may be helpful to you."
I took the parchment and examined it carefully. It was covered with all sorts of strange symbols and patterns, as well as some text I couldn't understand. Hao Yang came over to study it, pointing to a pattern that resembled a cave and saying, "Yaoyao, look, does this look like a cave?"
Master Hao nodded. "According to ancient records, the power of the Spirit Pearl comes from the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, and this cave is likely a place where spiritual energy converges. If you can find it, perhaps you can unlock the secret of the Spirit Pearl."
The flame of hope was rekindled in my heart. Following the instructions on the parchment, we set out on a journey to find the cave. Along the way, we crossed mountains and rivers and experienced countless hardships.
The entrance to the cave is hidden in a dense jungle. If it weren't for Master Hao's guidance, we would have had a hard time finding it. The cave entrance was dark and eerie, and a chill hit me in the face. I couldn't help but shiver.
"Be careful, Yaoyao." Hao Yang held my hand tightly. His hand was warm and strong, which gave me great courage.
We lit torches and cautiously entered the cave, which was filled with a damp and decaying smell. The walls were covered with ancient runes, which looked particularly eerie in the light of the fire.
Hao Yang walked ahead, clearing the way for me. The cave was filled with traps, easily triggered by the slightest mistake. Suddenly, a sharp arrow shot out from the wall, heading straight for Hao Yang. I screamed in fear, but Hao Yang reacted quickly, dodging the arrow by sideways.
"Hao Yang!" I rushed to his side in shock and checked if he was injured.
"I'm fine, don't worry." Hao Yang smiled and comforted me, but my heart was still pounding. I knew that Hao Yang was taking a huge risk for my dream.
We continued to go deeper into the cave, deciphering each trap. Finally, in a hidden corner, we found a stone wall engraved with runes.
"This is the rune recorded in the ancient scroll!" I said excitedly.
Master Hao stepped forward, carefully examining the runes, muttering something to himself. Suddenly, the stone wall shone with a dazzling light, and a new pattern appeared before us. It was the shape of an island, surrounded by a mysterious halo.
"This is an island..." Hao Yang muttered to himself.
Master Hao nodded and said, "It seems that the secret of the Lingzhu is hidden on this island."
We decided to go to this mysterious island and continue our quest for the power of the Spirit Pearl. However, when we told our family members about this decision, we were met with strong opposition... "Are you crazy? Going to such a dangerous place!" Wei Xue's voice was sharp and piercing...
"Dangerous? What could be more dangerous than entering this damn book?" I sneered, looking directly at Wei Xue's face filled with jealousy. "If you don't want to go, then forget it. Hao Yang and I will go!"
Wei Qing also joined the fray. Her usual delicate demeanor now sounded particularly sharp and sarcastic. "Yaoyao, I know you're unwilling to give up, but the matter of the spirit pearl is too vague. What if... I mean, what if something goes wrong? What do you want Elder Wei to do?"
I took a deep breath, trying to suppress the rage within me. I'd anticipated their opposition. Wei Xue was jealous, Wei Qing was hypocritical; they were eager for something to happen to me so they could take everything from me. I turned to look at Elder Wei, a man who had always cared deeply for me. He too was now worried.
"Elder, I have made up my mind." I said firmly, leaving no room for doubt. "I know this journey is dangerous, but I must go to change my fate."
Elder Wei sighed deeply, then finally nodded. "Child, I know you've made up your mind. Be careful. Remember, saving your life is the most important thing."
With Elder Wei's support, I felt much more at ease. Hao Yang and I began preparing everything we needed for the voyage. Master Hao also provided considerable assistance. He drew a nautical chart based on the records in the ancient scrolls and taught us some navigational techniques.
A few days later, we prepared a sturdy wooden boat, loaded it with enough food and water, and some necessary tools. Bidding farewell to the worried Elder Wei and the sarcastic Wei Xue and Wei Qing, we set sail, heading towards the mysterious island.
Life at sea was far more arduous than I'd imagined. The vastness of the ocean and the unpredictable weather made me realize how insignificant humans are. During the day, the sun blazed down, the sea shimmered, blinding the eye; at night, the wind biting cold, the waves surged, and the ship rocked violently.
"Yaoyao, be careful!" A huge wave hit me head on, and I stumbled and was almost swept into the sea. At the critical moment, Hao Yang grabbed my hand tightly and pulled me back to the cabin.
I leaned in Hao Yang's arms, still in shock, feeling his warmth, and a warm current surged in my heart. I knew that no matter how many difficulties and obstacles lay ahead, as long as Hao Yang was by my side, I would be fearless.
"Don't be afraid, Yaoyao, I will protect you." Hao Yang's voice was low and firm, like a solid barrier, protecting me from all wind and rain.
After several days of drifting on the sea, we finally saw the outline of the mysterious island. It was like a huge gem, lying quietly on the sea, surrounded by a thin layer of mist, looking mysterious and weird.
I was both excited and nervous, wondering what secrets this island held. Hao Yang held my hand tightly, his eyes filled with determination: "Let's go, Yaoyao, let's uncover its secrets."
We carefully landed the boat and stepped onto this unfamiliar land. The island was covered in lush vegetation, and the air was filled with a strange fragrance that made us feel a little dizzy.
"Something feels...off here..." I whispered.
Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the nearby bushes. Hao Yang and I immediately became alert and tightened our grip on our weapons. From behind the bushes, a familiar voice with a mocking tone came...
