Chapter 110: Counterattack to thwart the treacherous plot

Plan to counterattack and break the evil plot

"Hao Yang, we have to stop them!" I handed him the diary, my voice trembling with excitement. Hao Yang took it and flipped through the pages, his brow furrowing ever tighter. When he finished, he slammed the diary shut, his eyes blazing with anger.

"These bastards!" he growled, clenching his fists tightly. "They actually want to open the door to the dark world. Are they crazy?"

I nodded, feeling a mixture of unease and anger. "The diary records many of their crimes, including the Wei family's recent crises and the loss of control over the Spirit Pearl... They were the ones behind all this!"

We were silent for a moment, both digesting this shocking news. After a long moment, Hao Yang raised his head and looked at me firmly: "Yaoyao, we must stop them, no matter what the cost!"

"I know." I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. "But what should we do now? Their power is huge and they are hiding very deeply. We..."

"Let's make a plan first." Hao Yang interrupted me, his tone calm. "Know yourself and your enemy, and you can fight a hundred battles without defeat. Does the diary mention their base or their next plan?"

I flipped open the diary, searching carefully, and finally found a vague clue on the last page. "It mentions an 'altar,' claiming it's the key to unlocking the door to the dark world. But the exact location isn't specified, only that it's on a deserted island."

"Deserted island..." Hao Yang pondered for a moment, "It seems we have to find this deserted island first."

I nodded, but a wave of helplessness washed over me. We're trapped in this secret room, unable to even contact the outside world. How are we supposed to find an unknown, deserted island? I pulled out my communicator and tried to contact my family, but the signal was completely blocked.

A deep sense of powerlessness washed over me, and my eyes welled up. In this critical moment, I couldn't contact my family, couldn't get their help and support.

Hao Yang noticed my change of mood and gently held my hand, offering me silent comfort. "Don't worry, Yaoyao, we will definitely find a way." His tone was firm, but I could sense the worry deep in his eyes.

"Perhaps we can first destroy some of their key facilities in the stronghold." Hao Yang suddenly spoke, breaking the silence. "The diary mentioned that they have stored a large amount of spirit stones in this stronghold to maintain the operation of the altar. If we can destroy these spirit stones, we can weaken their power."

This suggestion brightened my eyes, as if I saw a glimmer of hope in the darkness. "Good idea! But how do we get out? This secret room..."

Before I could finish my words, I heard a subtle mechanical sound coming from the door of the secret room. We looked at each other and saw vigilance in each other's eyes. Hao Yang slowly stood up and walked towards the door... "It seems, something is not right..."

Hao Yang's suggestion gave me a glimmer of hope, but the door to the secret room seemed like an insurmountable chasm, standing between us. Just as I was racking my brains to figure out how to get out, a subtle mechanical sound came from the doorway. Hao Yang and I exchanged glances, each seeing a hint of vigilance in the other's eyes.

Hao Yang approached the door cautiously and was about to touch the mechanism on the door when several red lights suddenly shot out, leaving deep burn marks on the ground.

"Be careful, it's a trap!" I grabbed Hao Yang and pulled him back.

Almost at the same time, the four walls of the secret room began to move, cracks appeared on the ground, and metal puppets emerged from them. Their eyes flashed with cold light, and the weapons in their hands glowed coldly.

"It seems that they had already anticipated that we would find a way to escape." Hao Yang smiled bitterly and pulled out the dagger he carried with him.

We stood back to back, watching the puppets around us warily. Although lifeless, they moved swiftly and with great attack power. Hao Yang's movements were becoming increasingly slow, and his face was growing paler due to his previous injuries and poisoning.

"Hao Yang, how are you?" I asked worriedly.

"It's okay, just a minor injury." He forced a smile, swung his dagger, and split an approaching puppet into two halves.

I knew he was just being brave; his breathing was getting faster and faster, and his movements were getting slower and slower. I had to deal with the constant influx of puppets while also trying to protect him, and I was gradually feeling the strain.

"Yaoyao, be careful!" Hao Yang suddenly shouted and pushed me away.

A puppet's sharp blade stabbed at my chest. If Hao Yang hadn't pushed me away in time, the consequences would have been disastrous. However, he was hit by another puppet's weapon and stumbled back a few steps, a trace of blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.

"Hao Yang!" I shouted in pain, my eyes instantly moist.

He shook his head at me, telling me not to worry, and continued to fight the puppets. I gritted my teeth, channeling my worry and fear into strength, wielding my sword even more fiercely, slashing each puppet down.

After a hard fight, we finally eliminated all the puppets. Metal fragments were scattered on the floor of the secret room, and the air was thick with the smell of blood. Hao Yang leaned against the wall, gasping for breath, his face frighteningly pale.

"We...we have to get out of here quickly..." he said weakly.

I supported him and was about to look for an exit when I suddenly heard footsteps coming from outside the secret room, getting closer and clearer.

"Someone is coming..." I whispered, with an ominous feeling in my heart.

Hao Yang struggled to stand up and clenched the dagger in his hand.

"Prepare for battle..." he said in a deep voice, looking firmly at the door of the secret room.

The metal door slowly opened, and a dark figure appeared at the door...
