The Killer's Cleansing Manual

Chapter 8 Zhang Long and Chen Ming are loaded

As soon as he finished speaking, there seemed to be the sound of horse hooves. The two looked at each other. Bai Shu hurried to the other side of the path, grabbed the rope buried in the soil, and carefully observed the two fast horses coming towards this side.

Lin Shanjuan looked carefully and found that the two of them were wearing the uniforms of yamen runners. It seemed that they had set out in a hurry last night. They must be delivering a letter!

I actually guessed it!

The two fast horses had no idea that there would be an ambush, so when they passed the trip rope, they fell down unexpectedly.

Bai Shu immediately rushed out and grabbed the two men fiercely, "What are your names?"

A yamen runner was so frightened that he stammered out his name: "My name is Chen Ming, and his name is Zhang Long. Good man, spare me..."

After getting the key information, Bai Shu simply killed them one by one with a knife and then threw the bodies into the river.

No wonder they chose the riverside. Not only can the lush aquatic plants here hide people, but the bodies can also be disposed of as quickly as possible.

When he ran out happily, Lin Shanjuan had already changed into the yamen runner's clothes and put the letter written by the county magistrate back into his bag.

Bai Shu was stunned by her prediction: "Boss, you're amazing! One of them is called Chen Ming and the other is called Zhang Long! Oh my! There really is a letter! Let's see what's in it! So we can coordinate their statements!"

Lin Shanjuan raised a finger and shook it at him. "If we, two subordinates, open the letter, we'll be exposed. Hurry up, we should be off! From now on, your name is Chen Ming, and mine is Zhang Long. Remember that!"

Bai Shu hesitated for a second: "Boss, I think your name is more domineering, I look like a woman..."

Lin Shanjuan was speechless: "Okay, okay, okay, your name is Zhang Long, you're in so much trouble, get out of here!"

Bai Shu chuckled and readily agreed. He put on the yamen officer's clothes and hung up his sword. Then the two of them ran towards Xiongfeng Village.

Yue stayed in the distance and watched the two men leave before riding her horse here. She parted the grass and saw the bodies of the two yamen runners floating down the river, probably about to be washed into the river.

This person is not only smart, but also decisive and quick in doing things without leaving any trouble. This method seems to be the alertness and caution that only a killer can have.

It seems that her identity is indeed not simple.

Lin Shanjuan has always been organized in his work. After arriving at Hewang Mountain, he did not rush in. Instead, he circled around a few times, figured out the path on the mountain, and then sped up to ride in.

Leaving a way out in everything will increase the possibility of getting out of it safely.

The mountain road was rugged, and the further they walked into the dense forest, the quieter it became. Lin Shanjuan smelled an unusual scent, and her intuition told her that there must be an ambush around them.

"Don't say too much and don't show any expression. Just remember that you are Zhang Long. You are here to deliver a letter for the county magistrate. You have only heard a little about the business matters and have not participated in them." Lin Shanjuan instructed in a low voice.

Now that they were on someone else's territory, it was too late to regret. They could only take a gamble. Bai Shu made up his mind: "Don't worry, Boss. I will never let you down!"

Lin Shanjuan patted the back of his head. From that moment on, she was mute: "If there's anything you can't handle, just look at my gestures. If I move my fingers, you speak more harshly. If I don't, you speak more tactfully."

Bai Shu agreed, and the two of them gently pushed their horses forward again.

Yue Liu behind him had no idea what they wanted to do. Could they just barge in like this?

Could it be that the things they found from the two yamen runners could keep them safe?

After walking a few steps forward, Lin Shanjuan looked anxious and kept paying attention to the movements around him while running.

Suddenly she saw the dense forest ahead moving, and she immediately pulled the reins. The horse's two front paws flew into the air, and she pulled it firmly to the spot.

Bai Shu rushed out a little before stopping. He almost opened his mouth to ask out of habit, but when he remembered his identity and personality, he quickly changed his words:

"My dear men, we are sent by Magistrate Wang of Jialiang City to deliver a message. Please inform the headmaster of something important."

Lin Shanjuan held the yamen runner's steel knife tightly and vigilantly, loosening and tightening the reins and turning in circles on the spot.

Bai Shu had barely finished speaking when more than twenty people emerged from the forest. The leader rode his horse in front of Bai Shu and said, "You said it was me? Why do you look so strange to me?"

Lin Shanjuan glanced at him, thinking he was a weak man with a strong exterior, so he didn't take him seriously at all and knocked on the hilt of the knife in a hint.

Bai Shu caught a glimpse of this and shouted angrily, "You've delayed something important! I want to see if you think I'm familiar with you!"

The man spat out the grass in his mouth: "Damn it, you're looking for death by talking to me like this!"

He rushed over with a knife in hand. Seeing this, Bai Shu pulled out the yamen's steel knife hanging on the saddle and fought with him. After a few rounds, he kicked the man off the horse.

The steel knife was placed on his neck. The man was so frightened that he begged for mercy: "Please spare my life, sir, please spare my life! I am blind and don't recognize the real you! I will lead the way!"

Bai Shu snorted coldly and threw him away, then quickly sheathed the steel knife: "Hurry up!"

The man mounted his horse tremblingly and galloped into the woods with the two men.

In fact, Bai Shu's heart was already beating fast with guilt. He glanced at Lin Shanjuan, who gave him a thumbs-up. He didn't understand what it meant, so he gave the same thumbs-up secretly.

Is it a hint that I should have punched harder? Then why is the thumb sticking out?

The group galloped through the mountains and forests on horseback, and in just half an incense stick of time they stopped in front of a village.

Seeing that Bai Shu was still a little frightened, the man clasped his fist towards Lin Shanjuan and said, "Please wait a moment, sir. I will go and ask my elder brother to come out!"

Lin Shanjuan closed his eyes and nodded, looking very impatient. After waiting for a while, a middle-aged man in his forties came running out in a hurry.

Seeing this, Bai Shu also dismounted, and Lin Shanjuan followed closely behind.

The men met at the entrance of the village. The man clasped his fists and said, "I didn't know you were coming. I'm sorry for not welcoming you. Please, please!"

The two of them had already inquired about the general situation of the village on the way here, so they seemed to be able to deal with it with some ease.

"Master Gong, you are too polite. This is extremely urgent. Let's go in and talk."

Village Chief Gong rolled his eyes, guessed their purpose, and said with a smile: "Then please come in!"

After he finished speaking, he winked at the people around him. Several of them came out to look around, cleaned up the horseshoe prints of the two men, and then went back with peace of mind.

Yue Liuyin saw it clearly in the dark and thought to herself that this village was secretive and must not be an upright place. Fortunately, she had left marks on the way here, so she was not afraid that the reinforcements would not find the direction.

A few people entered the front hall, and Bai Shu sat down with a worried look on his face.

"Last night, Lord Wang entertained a distinguished guest from the capital, but unexpectedly, a female thief stole the nobleman's letter just after he received it! The county magistrate was worried that the thief would disguise herself and come here to deceive you with a secret letter, so he sent the two of us here to inform you."

When Village Chief Gong heard this, he became anxious. He slammed the table and stood up, cursing, "Damn it! Is there anyone who dares to delay our business in Jialiang City? Do you know who it is? I'm going to take my brothers and chop her up with knives!"

Lin Shanjuan didn't move his fingers. Seeing this, Bai Shu pulled him to sit down and said, "Master Gong, there's no need to be angry. That woman can't get far on her own. If she really dares to come here, she's walking into a trap!"

Village Chief Gong pretended to be appeased, then tentatively asked, "I wonder if County Magistrate Wang brought any proof of the message he sent you? Without proof, I'm afraid I won't believe it."

Upon hearing this, Bai Shu gave Lin Shanjuan eight thousand thumbs up in his heart: My boss is really so foresighted!!!

He was fearless and took out the letter from his arms and handed it to the leader of the Gong village.

Village Chief Gong took it with a smile, first checking the seal to see if there were any signs of it being opened, and then he began to read it carefully.

Sure enough, what was written in the letter was exactly the same as what Bai Shu said, and I felt relieved.

"Just as you two adults said! May I know what your names are?"

Lin Shanjuan certainly did not miss the movement of him stroking the letter paper. He guessed that the letter must have the names of two officials written on it. Fortunately, he was prepared.

It was Bai Shu who asked for the name, and even "Zhang Long" was something he fought for himself, so he answered naturally.

"We're not really masters. We're just bailiffs in front of the court. My name is Zhang Long, and his is Chen Ming."

The names and the details matched perfectly, and Village Chief Gong's doubts were finally dispelled. He said apologetically:

"Oh, I'm so sorry. This happened suddenly. If I don't verify your identities, I can't guarantee the safety of the business."

His eyes fell on Lin Shanjuan. Seeing her appearance, he was suspicious for a moment, but his eyes fell on her shallow Adam's apple, and his doubts were dispelled.

"This brother Chen looks so handsome, could he be the master?"

Lin Shanjuan raised his hands and gestured, mumbling and groaning, unable to express himself clearly.

Bai Shu saw this and replied, "My brother is mute. His family was poor when he was young. After an illness, he could no longer speak and could only make some noises. It was only because the county magistrate appreciated him that he was given a bowl of rice to eat."

Village Chief Gong nodded slowly, clasped his fists and apologized: "I didn't know the inside story. I'm sorry for being so rude. I'm so rude."

Bai Shu smiled and pretended not to care. Village Chief Gong waved his hand and said, "Let's have a big banquet tonight to apologize to the two brothers!"

That night, the Xiongfeng Village was brightly lit with fire, and the sounds of finger-guessing games and giving orders echoed throughout the mountaintops.

Bai Shu and Village Chief Gong got along better and better as they talked. They drank and chatted happily, and Bai Shu took the opportunity to find out some news about Xiongfeng Village from him.

Lin Shanjuan sat with them, not saying a word and just drinking foolishly. This action made Master Gong feel much more at ease.

When he was half drunk, he couldn't help but have other thoughts.

"Did Magistrate Wang say when he would come to pick up the goods? After all, you see, the letter is lost. We have to continue the business, right? Without the secret letter from that noble man, we can't import salt."

Lin Shanjuan got a key piece of information that surprised her from this sentence - these people were able to obtain salt with the help of the secret letter from that "noble man". Fortunately, she had snatched the letter out at the beginning.

Bai Shu knew that he had to postpone the matter of things he couldn't agree to, so he made up an excuse.

"Don't worry, Mr. Gong. The county magistrate is also waiting for another letter from you. To be honest, the two of us have brought enough silver. When the secret letter arrives, we will go together to pick up the goods. How about that?"

Only then did Village Chief Gong feel relieved and readily agreed: "Since Brother Zhang said so, then I am relieved!"

Lin Shanjuan watched his expression carefully and slid the wine in the bowl into his mouth.

This person is more greedy for money than for life, so he seems to be easy to control.

If they want money, they have plenty of it and are not afraid of not being able to fool him.

Late at night, everyone in Xiongfeng Village was drunk. Village Master Gong was taken back to the room by his three concubines. Before leaving, he still shouted that he wanted to have a few more drinks with Lin Shanjuan to decide who was the winner.

Bai Shu was being pulled by Lin Shanjuan, and was also talking drunkenly. The two parties finally pulled themselves apart and helped him back to the room to rest.

As soon as the door closed, Bai Shu shook his head and was shocked to see Lin Shanjuan's expression had returned to calm and he even poured him a cup of tea.

"Boss, you can drink so well?"

Lin Shanjuan waved his hand. "I vomited half of it secretly. What if I really got drunk? How are your inquiries going?"

Bai Shu hurriedly sat down. "The village chief said this place is easy to defend but difficult to attack. There's only one main road in front, and this is the only way for anyone to enter or exit."

Lin Shanjuan nodded and came up with a plan: "Look around more these few days. It would be best if you could get some drug powder that can knock people out. It doesn't need to be too much. Then let these people take us out!"

"Send us out?" Bai Shu was stunned. "Boss, I really admire you more and more now. If nothing else, just your brain is worth two of mine!"

Lin Shanjuan scratched his face: "If you really want to praise me, then don't praise me too much. Sometimes when I hear you praise me, I really want to beat you up!"

Bai Shu dodged, holding his head. "Then...then you can give me ten? Ten should be enough, right?"

"..."

Lin Shan wearily raised his head and lay on the couch. "We must be careful these days and must not reveal our true intentions. In a few days, we will use a secret letter to trick him into taking us to buy salt. We will then bring the salt directly to the capital and give her a big gift."

Bai Shu was so tired that he didn't hear what Lin Shanjuan said at all, but he was snoring loudly in response.
