After the bell rang three times, the disciples of various sects were still immersed in the lingering sound of the bell.

Some closed their eyes devoutly, some seemed to be comprehending the ultimate truth of heaven and earth, some stared at the Buddhist bell thoughtfully, and some disciples had happy expressions on their faces, obviously having gained something.

Master Kongwang retracted the spiritual power in his palms, looked around at everyone, and his voice was gentle and solemn.

"Donors, the three tolls of the bell are meant to cleanse the soul and awaken potential. I hope you can take this opportunity to cultivate your character, attain enlightenment, and seek truth."

"Next, I invite all donors to follow me to the Dharma Hall in the main hall to study Buddhism and listen to Buddhist teachings."

After saying this, Master Kongwang walked down the platform with steady steps. The monks followed behind him and walked towards the Dharma Hall in the main hall in an orderly manner.

Returning to the first floor of the Main Hall, everyone first knelt down and worshipped the Buddha statue in the center under the leadership of Kong Wang, and then each found a place in the hall to sit cross-legged.

Because the hall is spacious enough, even if there are a large number of people, everyone can maintain a sufficient distance from each other and not interfere with each other.

Ye Qingning and Jiang Wan had just found a place with few people to sit down when they saw a familiar figure wearing the lavender uniform of a Hehuan Sect disciple sitting cross-legged on the other side of her.

A pair of charming peach blossom eyes were staring at her closely with a hint of resentment.

Ye Qingning was stunned at first. At least he had never noticed Xie Jibai before.

After all, the reason why Luo Yun Sect was invited in the previous life was because Xie Jibai won fourth place in the competition. However, in this life, Xie Jibai was eliminated, so Luo Yun Sect was naturally not invited.

As a result, Ye Hanyue followed Ye Xin into the Zen temple as a member of the Ye family, while Xie Jibai entered the Zen temple as a disciple of the Hehuan Sect, just like he did when he went to the Yunshan Secret Realm.

Come on, Ye Qingning couldn't stop it, but Xie Jibai sat directly next to Ye Qingning, which made Ye Qingning speechless.

She eliminated Xie Jibai in the Immortal Sect Competition, but wasn't that enough to make Xie Jibai give up? He actually stuck to her like a dog-skin plaster.

But right now, all the monks from various sects have already sat down. If she stands up and moves to another seat at this time, it will seem quite deliberate, and all kinds of rumors may spread tomorrow.

He could only sit here, treating Xie Jibai as air, and waiting for Master Kongwang to preach.

But the gaze beside him grew increasingly intense, and then he heard a voice of extreme grievance transmitted from his mind: "Senior Sister, I lost to you in the Immortal Sect Competition. Senior Sister, are you still not satisfied?"

"Senior Sister, can you please pay attention to me? Because Senior Sister, I have a demon in my heart... I know Senior Sister doesn't want to be entangled with me, but I really can't lose Senior Sister."

"I was wrong in my previous life. I beg you to give me a chance to make amends in this life. I know you still pity me."

"Now, I have developed an inner demon because of my senior sister. As long as the inner demon is not eliminated, I will be bewitched by it every day. I am afraid that I will do something irreparable to my senior sister, so I told her about the inner demon."

"Sister, my inner demon was born because of you. My feelings for you are not fake. The pain of the inner demon is like a raging fire burning my heart. Even if you are still angry with me, it's time for you to calm down, right?"

"Senior Sister, I'm afraid... I'm afraid of being controlled by my inner demons, and even more afraid of doing something excessive to you. Senior Sister, can you please help me?"

"The sound of the Fanyin Bell can help me dispel my inner demons. The Fanyin Bell was gifted to the Zen temple by my senior sister. As long as my senior sister asks, Master Kongwang will definitely help me dispel my inner demons."

Ye Qingning curled up the corners of her lips in a sneer. After all this time, Xie Jibai needed her golden finger again, so he came to her pitifully.

As for the inner demon, what does it have to do with her? It's because she has an inner demon. It's because she is unwilling to lose her golden finger that she has developed the inner demon.

He even said he was afraid of doing something irreparable to her. Had he not forgotten that he was still in the Golden Core stage? The sky cleared, the rain stopped, and he thought he was okay again, able to do whatever he wanted, just because he had this inner demon?

Are you okay? Are you okay? If you are okay, eat more Lychee Plum.

Ye Qingning sneered in his heart and didn't even want to reply, but in order to make Xie Jibai give up, he still replied concisely.

"Your inner demons have nothing to do with me. Sect Master Xie is very capable. You should seek a solution on your own instead of pinning your hopes on an unrelated person. I hope you will respect yourself and take care of yourself."

After saying that, Ye Qingning no longer paid attention to Xie Jibai's endless telepathic messages.

Xie Jibai's face looked ugly, his eyes were dim, and his heart was aching. He told her about his inner demon, but she didn't care at all and was even unwilling to help him.

She really doesn't care about him at all...

But so what? He won't give up.

The annoying voice transmission did not stop until Master Kongwang began to preach.

Ye Qingning had a clear mind, concentrated his thoughts and calmed his spirit, and soon got into the state.

Master Kongwang sat upright on the altar, and the scriptures he recited seemed to contain endless Zen meaning.

Every sentence and every word seems to be able to penetrate the hustle and bustle of the world and make people's distracting thoughts disappear.

As the scriptures became more profound, Master Kongwang's voice seemed to possess some kind of magic, guiding the monks into one mysterious realm after another.

Soon, several disciples entered a state of enlightenment, and the first to do so was Shen Xuanli.

He closed his eyes and concentrated, with a faint aura surrounding his body. It was obvious that he had comprehended some truth in the scriptures.

The disciples who had not yet entered into a state of meditation noticed this phenomenon and were amazed.

We were all listening to Master Kongwang’s lectures, but they had sudden realizations so quickly. It seemed as if they were not listening to the same sutra as me.

Ye Qingning did not pay attention to whether Shen Xuanli had entered a state of enlightenment. She closed her eyes and concentrated, trying to understand the deep meaning of the scriptures.

Although she was not a Buddhist disciple, her desire and pursuit for the great way still made her resonate with the scriptures spoken by Master Kongwang.

My thoughts drifted away with the scriptures, and I seemed to be in a vast and boundless universe.

In this illusory yet real world, she felt unprecedented tranquility and harmony.

Faintly, she seemed to hear the whisper of the Tao, a communication that transcended words, and it also made her understand that whether it was Buddhism or other ways of cultivation, they were essentially an exploration of the Tao.

The so-called Tao is invisible and intangible, yet it is everywhere. It runs through all things in heaven and earth. It is the inexhaustible driving force for the growth of all things and the operation of the universe. It only waits for those who are willing to comprehend it.

As time went by, Ye Qingning's understanding became deeper and deeper, surpassing his previous life's understanding of the Tao. His mind suddenly became clear, and he directly stepped into a new realm, reaching the seventh level of Taoism.

On the path of spiritual practice, the state of mind comes first.

The so-called state of mind refers to the monk's character, emotional control, self-awareness and resistance to external temptations.

There are different states of mind.

For cultivators in the Qi Refining Stage, their state of mind is basically at the initial level, which is the first level of Taoism.

The cultivator's state of mind will gradually improve as his cultivation level increases.

The cultivation of the state of mind is equally important. Even during the practice, the level of the state of mind can determine whether the cultivator can break through the bottleneck and reach a higher level of cultivation.

If one's state of mind surpasses one's own cultivation, one will not encounter bottlenecks in the subsequent breakthroughs in cultivation.

On the contrary, if the state of mind cannot match the level of cultivation, no matter how high the level of cultivation is, it will be difficult to enter a higher realm.

Some powerful men stagnate in their cultivation near the end of their lives, often because their state of mind limits them and they are unable to make further breakthroughs.

Before a Mahayana master can ascend to heaven, he must not only climb the heavenly ladder, but also have a state of mind that surpasses the tenth level of Taoism and reaches the state of unity of knowledge and action. Only then can he climb the heavenly ladder and achieve enlightenment and ascend.
