Chapter 99 Arriving in Harbin
Lu Yang went all the way north and finally arrived in Harbin after many hardships. Along the way, he went through countless checkpoints and inspections, but with the special pass given to him by Dai Yunong, he was always able to pass smoothly.
"We're finally here." Lu Yang stood on the street in Harbin, took a deep breath of the cold air, and felt a lot of emotions in his heart.
The streets of Harbin were bustling with people and lined with shops. Although it was winter, the city was still full of life. Lu Yang, speaking fluently in Northeastern dialect, asked passersby for directions to the trade freight station.
"Brother, how do I get to Tongda Trade Freight Station?" Lu Yang asked casually.
"Oh, turn left in front and go straight for another 100 meters and you will be there." The passerby pointed the way enthusiastically.
"Thank you!" Lu Yang nodded and thanked him, then walked quickly in the direction indicated.
Soon after, he found the Tongda Trade Freight Station. There was an unassuming sign hanging at the entrance, and several workers were standing there, busy moving goods.
Lu Yang walked to the door, his eyes sweeping over the workers, secretly thinking about how to contact them. He remembered the codeword Dai Yunong had given him, and a plan came to mind.
"Is the boss here?" Lu Yang walked to the door and asked a worker who was moving goods.
"He's here. What do you want to talk to him about?" The worker looked up at Lu Yang and asked.
"I have something important to discuss with him," Lu Yang replied, then added, "I heard the tea here is good."
The worker was slightly startled, then nodded and pointed inside, "Go in, the boss is in the office."
Lu Yang walked into the freight station, passed through a warehouse filled with goods, and came to a simple office. He knocked on the door and heard a low voice from inside: "Come in."
Lu Yang pushed open the door and saw a middle-aged man sitting behind a desk, working on documents. The man looked up and saw Lu Yang, with a hint of surprise in his eyes.
"Who are you?" the man asked.
"I'm here to buy tea." Lu Yang said with a smile.
A glimmer of understanding flashed in the man's eyes. He nodded and motioned Lu Yang to sit down. "Tea is good, water is even better."
Lu Yang sat down and looked around the office. He found that although it was simple, it was well organized.
"Use 88-degree water, not too hot." Lu Yang replied tentatively.
The code is correct.
"I'm Zhang Zijian. Who are you?" Zhang Zijian put down the documents in his hand and looked at Lu Yang carefully.
"I was sent by my family in the south." Lu Yang lowered his voice and said, "When we were trying to sneak across the sea, the boat capsized and Ping Hexin fell into the sea and disappeared. We can only find a chance on our own."
Zhang Zijian frowned slightly, clearly feeling a little uneasy, but he quickly regained his composure. He nodded and motioned for Lu Yang to sit down.
"You've worked hard. Sit down and talk first," said Zhang Zijian.
Lu Yang sat down and looked around the office. He found that although it was simple, it was well organized.
"Director Dai asked me to find an opportunity to infiltrate the Japanese special agency." Lu Yang said straight to the point.
Zhang Zijian nodded and took out a document and handed it to Lu Yang, "This is the instruction from Director Dai, take a look."
Lu Yang took the document and read it carefully. The document detailed his next tasks and action plan, as well as some precautions.
"I understand." Lu Yang closed the file and nodded, "I will act according to the plan."
"Okay, here are the identification and documents you need." Zhang Zijian took out a package from the drawer and handed it to Lu Yang. "You are currently a businessman named Li Wenhan. Here are your identification and some necessary documents."
Lu Yang took the package and opened it. Inside was an ID, a pass and some cash.
"Thank you." Lu Yang said gratefully.
"You're welcome. This is our duty." Zhang Zijian said with a smile, "You should settle down here first and find an opportunity to infiltrate the Japanese special agency."
"Okay, I will." Lu Yang nodded in agreement.
Zhang Zijian stood up and patted Lu Yang on the shoulder. "You have to be careful. The situation in Harbin is complicated. Japanese special agencies have spies everywhere."
"I'll pay attention." Lu Yang responded, with a cold light in his eyes.
After leaving the freight station, Lu Yang followed the instructions in the document and found a hotel to stay in. The hotel owner was a warm-hearted man from Northeast China. When he saw Lu Yang, he smiled and said, "Sir, would you like to stay at the hotel?"
"Yes, get me a room." Lu Yang said.
"Okay, this way please." The boss enthusiastically took Lu Yang up to the second floor and opened a clean and tidy room. "This is your room. Call me if you need anything."
"Thank you." Lu Yang nodded and thanked him, walked into the room and closed the door.
He sat on the edge of the bed, opened the package, carefully checked the documents and certificates inside, and after confirming that they were correct, he hid them carefully.
After eating something, Lu Yang sorted out his thoughts.
It would be a bit abrupt to go directly to Tobiyuan now, so he did not choose to go to Fengtian (Shenyang).
Tu Feiyuan’s secret service agency is in Fengtian.
Among the three northeastern provinces, only Harbin and Shenyang have liaison stations.
Lu Yang can only look for opportunities in Harbin.
In one of the letters between Xuantian Musashi and Xuantian Hideo, a Japanese woman named Sakurako was mentioned, but there were very few words about her. She lived in Harbin.
Lu Yang planned to find her first and obtain more information about Yingnan so that he could carry out his work in the future.
The next morning, Lu Yang changed into clean clothes, took his ID and pass, and walked out of the hotel.
He walked into a restaurant and ordered a bowl of pork stewed with vermicelli, four large pancakes, and a pot of tea.
Sitting in the corner, eating with his ears perked up, listening to the conversations of people around him.
Fortunately, Lu Yang was originally from Harbin, so he could understand what they were talking about.
"Have you heard? Recently, the Harbin Police Department is recruiting people with police experience or experience as soldiers in the old society. The treatment is good." A middle-aged man said in a low voice.
"Really? Then we have to try it." Another man responded.
Lu Yang's heart moved, and he quietly wrote down their conversation.
"Boss, four more pancakes, please." Lu Yang greeted him and asked, "Boss, do the police come here often?"
"Damn it, don't mention it." The boss said with a smile,
"how?"
"Not only do they eat and drink for free, but no one dares to come in when they come. Business is tough." The boss said casually, shaking his head and walking away.
Lu Yang lowered his head to eat, took a sip of tea, wrapped the four pancakes in paper while they were still hot, and put them in his pocket.
I had almost finished eating when I heard a loud shout.
"Wang Laonian, quickly heat up a few pots of wine!"
Lu Yang looked in the direction of the sound.
