"Qinglan, tell me the truth, are you...are you sure?" Lu Yang suddenly asked. This question was earth-shattering!

"Ah?" Qinglan's face turned red in an instant, like a ripe apple. She lowered her head, twisted the corners of her clothes with her hands, and said in a voice as low as a mosquito's hum, "You... why are you asking this suddenly..."

"Stop talking nonsense and just tell me whether it is true or not!" Lu Yang pressed on step by step, as if he was interrogating a criminal.

"I..." Qinglan lowered her head even more, her heart beating so hard that it seemed like it was about to jump out of her chest.

"Is it, or isn't it?" Lu Yang continued to ask without any sympathy.

"Yes..." Qinglan finally spoke, his voice so soft that it was almost inaudible, but with a determination to go all out.

"Okay!" Lu Yang slammed the table and shouted, "Since you have so much information, do me a favor!"

"What...what help?" Qinglan raised her head and looked at Lu Yang, her eyes full of confusion and expectation.

Lu Yang leaned close to Qinglan's ear and whispered.

"This...is this possible?" After hearing this, Qinglan's face turned red and white, and she felt embarrassed and anxious.

"Why not?" Lu Yang asked, "Haven't we received this kind of training before?"

"I..." Qinglan bit her lip, a conflicted look on her face.

"Stop talking so much. I just want to ask you one question: do it or not?" Lu Yang urged.

"Do... do..." Qinglan finally made up her mind. She closed her eyes and said loudly. The voice was filled with the tragic grandeur of a desperate move.

"That's right!" Lu Yang smiled, his smile tinged with cunning and pride. "Remember, you must let go and act without letting me know!"

"Hmm..." Qinglan nodded, her face still as red as if it was about to bleed.

After arranging all this, Lu Yang breathed a long sigh of relief. He walked to the window, looked at the dark night sky outside, and a sneer appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"'Cobra', 'Number 76', and all those evil spirits hiding in the shadows, just wait for me! The fun has just begun!"

There was a crazy light flashing in Lu Yang's eyes, like a ghost fire in the dark night, which made people shudder.

The night was deep, like thick, indissoluble ink, covering the bustling city of Jiangcheng. Lu Yang stood by the window, his eyes narrowed slightly, as scenes flashed through his mind like a movie.

Qinglan's determination, Xiaohe's siblings' cleverness, Director Cao's cunning, Du Laosan's viciousness, Chen Yijun's complexity and depth... Every character and every detail replayed in his mind over and over again, interweaving into an intricate picture.

"Knock knock knock!" A knock on the door interrupted Lu Yang's thoughts.

"Come in!" Lu Yang said without turning his head, his voice low and powerful.

The door was gently pushed open, and Xiao He walked in cautiously, holding a tray with a bowl of steaming noodles on it. "Uncle Lu, you haven't had dinner yet, right? I made you a bowl of noodles."

Lu Yang turned around and looked at Xiao He's childish yet concerned face, a warm feeling welling up in his heart. "Xiao He, thank you." He took the tray, placed it on the table, pulled up a chair, sat down, and began to eat with big mouthfuls.

"Uncle Lu, please eat slowly and don't choke." Xiao He stood aside and said softly.

While eating, Lu Yang asked vaguely, "Where's Xiao Jiang?"

"He's taking a shower. He has to wash himself clean because he's going into town tomorrow." Xiaohe replied with a smile.

"Well, you two, follow me from now on." Lu Yang swallowed a mouthful of noodles and said, "I will teach you to read and write, and also teach you some self-defense skills."

"Really? Uncle Lu!" Xiaohe's eyes suddenly lit up, like the brightest stars in the night sky.

"Of course it's true, but you must remember to be obedient, smart, and learn to protect yourself." Lu Yang put down his chopsticks and said seriously.

"Yes! We will definitely listen to Uncle Lu!" Xiaohe nodded vigorously, his face filled with excitement and anticipation.

Lu Yang smiled, picked up his bowl, and continued eating. He knew that these two children would become his most capable assistants and his most trusted partners in this chaotic world.

After finishing his noodles, Lu Yang asked Xiao He to rest while he returned to the window. His gaze passed through the window and into the distance.

Jiangcheng, the city known as the Eastern Magic City, was like a giant whirlpool, attracting countless people and swallowing them up. And he, Lu Yang, was about to unleash a bloody storm at the center of this whirlpool!

The next morning, Lu Yang took Xiaohe and Xiaojiang and boarded the train to Jiangcheng City.

The train was bustling with noise. Lu Yang leaned back in his seat, eyes closed, resting. Xiao He and Xiao Jiang looked around curiously, feeling a surge of excitement at everything.

Suddenly, there was a commotion from the other end of the carriage. Lu Yang opened his eyes and saw several policemen in black uniforms approaching aggressively.

"Oh no, they must be here to catch us!" Xiaohe said nervously.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here." Lu Yang patted Xiaohe's hand and comforted her.

Several policemen quickly approached Lu Yang. "You, get up and come with us!" the leading policeman pointed at Lu Yang and said in a gruff voice.

"Why?" Lu Yang asked back, his voice not loud but filled with unquestionable majesty.

"Why?" The leading police officer sneered, "Because you're suspected of murder!"

"Murder?" Lu Yang pretended to be surprised. "Who did I kill?"

"Stop talking nonsense and follow us!" The leading policeman reached out to grab Lu Yang's arm.

Lu Yang turned his body to the side, avoiding the police's hand. "Wait, are you mistaken? I'm from the police station!"

"People from the police station?" The leading police officer was stunned for a moment, then said, "Even if they are from the police station, they must pay with their lives if they kill someone!"

"When did I kill anyone? Do you have any evidence?" Lu Yang asked back.

"Evidence? Humph, we'll find it when we get to the police station!" The leading police officer waved his hand, "Take him away!"

Several policemen rushed forward and tried to handcuff Lu Yang.

"Stop!" A delicate shout suddenly came from the other end of the carriage.

When everyone looked back, they saw a tall, beautiful woman wearing a cheongsam walking towards them quickly.

"Qing...Qinglan?" Lu Yang was stunned when he saw the person coming.

"Lu Yang, are you okay?" Qing Lan walked to Lu Yang and asked with concern.

"I'm fine, why are you here?" Lu Yang asked.

"I..." Qinglan was about to speak but was interrupted by the leading policeman.

"Who are you? How dare you interfere with us in the performance of our duties?" The leading policeman looked at Qinglan and asked with a lustful look.

"Who am I?" Qinglan sneered, "I'm your chief's friend!" As she said that, she took out an ID from her bag and waved it in front of the leading policeman.

The leading police officer's face paled as he saw the name and position on the ID. "You...you are..."

"Now, can you leave?" Qinglan asked coldly.

"But...okay..." The leading policeman nodded repeatedly and walked away dejectedly with a few of his men.

"Qinglan, thank you." Lu Yang looked at Qinglan and said gratefully.

"What are you thanking me for? We are friends." Qinglan smiled and said, "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to Jiangcheng to attend training at the Provincial Police Academy." Lu Yang replied.

"That's great. I'm going to Jiangcheng too. Let's go together." Qinglan said.

"Okay." Lu Yang nodded.

"By the way, who are these two children?" Qinglan pointed at Xiaohe and Xiaojiang and asked.

"They are my new disciples and will follow me from now on," Lu Yang introduced.

"Disciple?" Qing Lan was a little surprised. "Will you accept a disciple?"

"Why, is it not possible?" Lu Yang asked back.

"Okay, of course." Qinglan smiled, "From now on, I will call them Junior Brother and Junior Sister."

"Whatever you want." Lu Yang said.

The train continued to move forward and soon arrived in Jiangcheng.

Jiangcheng, known as the Magic City of the East, was indeed much more prosperous than Ning'an County. The streets were bustling with traffic and people coming and going.

Lu Yang brought Xiao He and Xiao Jiang, followed behind Qing Lan, walked through the bustling crowd, and came to a luxurious mansion.

"This is where I live in Jiangcheng. You can live here from now on." Qinglan said, pointing to the house.

"This...this is not good, right?" Lu Yang hesitated.

"What's wrong with that? Let's just do it." Qinglan said, and took Lu Yang, Xiaohe and Xiaojiang into the courtyard.

Inside the house, there is a hidden world, with rockery, ponds, pavilions and towers.

"It's pretty good here, right?" Qinglan asked.

"It's not just good, it's simply great!" Lu Yang exclaimed.

"I'm glad you like it." Qinglan smiled, "Come on, I'll show you the room."

Qinglan took Lu Yang, Xiao He and Xiao Jiang to visit each room in the house. Finally, she took Lu Yang to a spacious and bright room.

"This will be your room from now on." Qinglan said.

"My room?" Lu Yang was a little surprised. "It's not appropriate for me to live here, right?"

"What's inappropriate about that? You are my savior, and it's your right to live here." Qinglan said.

"But..." Lu Yang wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Qing Lan.

"Don't worry, it's settled." Qing Lan said, "You take a rest first, I'll prepare some food for you."

After saying that, Qinglan turned and left the room.

The dim light, like a tired eye, blinked feebly, casting a half-dead gloom on the narrow, dark room. Cobwebs clung to the corners, as if woven from the melancholy of the room itself, sticky and heavy. The air was filled with a musty smell, tinged with the acrid aroma of cheap tobacco, making the throat itch and making one want to vomit out all the filth in the world.

A thin figure huddled in the corner, like a wounded wild cat, staring at the door warily. His face was hidden in the shadows, and it was hard to see clearly. Only a pair of eyes, flashing with a faint light, like two will-o'-the-wisp lights, danced in the dead silent room.

"Squeak--" the door opened, and the shabby wooden door made a harsh groan, like the wail of a consumptive patient before death.

A figure flashed in, bringing with him a chill and a smell of blood. He closed the door, bolted it, and turned around to face the figure in the corner.

"Where are the goods?" the man spoke, his voice as hoarse as sandpaper polishing rusty iron sheets. Every word was burred and hurt people's eardrums.

"Here..." The figure in the corner moved, took out an oil-paper bag from his arms, and handed it over tremblingly.

The man snatched the oil-paper package and opened it impatiently. In the dim light, he carefully examined the contents. It was a yellowed photo, and the person in the photo was Lu Yang.

"Is this the 'fire'?" the visitor asked, with a barely perceptible tremor in his voice.

"Yes... yes... This is what 'Crow' risked his life to spread..." said the figure in the corner, "I heard... 'Spark'... has arrived in Jiangcheng..."

"Where is 'Crow'?" the visitor asked again, his voice as cold as ice.

"He...he...he..." The figure in the corner made a gurgling sound in his throat, as if his throat was being strangled by an invisible hand.

"Dead?" the man asked, and every word was like a nail, firmly nailing the heart of the man in the corner.

"Yes... yes..." The figure in the corner finally squeezed out a word, his voice full of fear and despair.

"Useless!" the man cursed, kicking over the stool beside him. "You can't even do this!"

The stool fell to the ground with a dull sound, like a heavy sigh.

"But...but...'Spark'...is still alive..." The figure in the corner tried to defend himself.

"Alive?" The man sneered, "What's the point of being alive? He's a hot potato now. Whoever touches him will be in trouble!"

He stuffed the photo into his arms, then pulled a pistol from his waist and pointed it at the figure in the corner. "You know too much."

"No...don't..." The figure in the corner shouted in horror. He wanted to escape, but found that his legs were as soft as noodles and he had no strength at all.

"Bang!" A gunshot broke the silence in the house.

The figure in the corner fell to the ground, blood gushing out from his chest, staining the ground red, like a gorgeous poppy blooming strangely in the darkness.

The man put away his gun, took a look at the corpse on the ground, then turned around, opened the door and walked out.

The room returned to deathly silence. Only the dim light was still blinking weakly, illuminating the cold corpse on the ground.

……

"Has the 'Fire' arrived in Jiangcheng?"

In a spacious and bright office, a middle-aged man in a suit was looking at the telegram in his hand with a frown on his face.

"Yes, Commander," the young man standing opposite him replied respectfully, "This is the news from our spy at Number 76."

"Who exactly is this 'Fire Seeder'?" the middle-aged man asked, his voice full of confusion and uneasiness.

"It's still unclear," the young man replied. "All we know is that he's a very dangerous man. Number 76 takes him very seriously and is determined to get rid of him at all costs."

"For Number 76 to attach such importance to this, it seems this 'Spark' is truly remarkable." The middle-aged man sneered and placed the telegram on the table. "Investigate this, make sure you get to the bottom of this 'Spark'!"
