Amidst the barrage of comments so thick that the screen was almost invisible, the screen turned black again, and the seventeenth episode of the series officially began.

When it came back on, a line of subtitles appeared in the middle of the screen:

On the screen, inside the Darkland Fortress, the player's familiar King Charles VIII is talking with a middle-aged man with dark sideburns, calm brown eyes, and wearing a Ruines-style coat, and an elderly man in a green priest's robe.

Many players had already recognized the elderly man; he was none other than Cumberland, the Druid Mentor of the Church of the Goddess of Life. Above the middle-aged man's head was a name: Benjamin, a member of the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Luins and the Supreme Council of the Life Alchemy Association.

The voiceover introduced Charles VIII to the player, who was immediately shocked to learn that he was none other than Charles VII, who had been killed by Wayne Stewell during the Docklands Incident. He hadn't truly perished in the catastrophe, but had survived through alchemy. The so-called Charles VIII was his own plan for a resurrection.

The Church of the Goddess of Life, the Darklan Royal Family, the Craftsmen and Alchemists Association, and the Meditation Society had actually united together long ago, each with their own needs.

Zhou Ning was surprised at first, then the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. Zhou Ning had not expected the true identity of Charles VIII. Considering that the Ascetic Church would impeach the Braxton royal family the day after tomorrow, it would be time to continue the settlement.

However, what made him feel a little uncomfortable was that there was no direct spoiler of the other party's plan, and the story was basically about what he had experienced.

Through their conversations, the players learned about the auction and the creation of artificial gods. Cumberland, using his staff and his power in dreams to transform into Ian, organized a secret gathering and sold life and luck for a high price. The royal families of Braxton and Luins were the main buyers.

The scene continues, this time showing a year earlier, when the familiar Thunder General Bilson salvaged a magic lamp from the sea and made a wish to receive immense wealth. The scene then shifts to reveal that the envoy of the House of Bryston, Charles VII's kin, Foster Ruth, has visited the Thunder General and negotiated a human transport agreement. This fulfilled Bilson's wish, granting him immense wealth, and marked the beginning of his tragedy.

Montage shots switched rapidly, with shiploads of people being transported to Darkland, a small number being transferred to other places, and having Ian, the incarnation of Cumberland, extract their lives and luck in secret gatherings, while most of them stayed in Darkland and were sent to the underground of the Darkland Fortress.

Although their fate is not explicitly stated, players have almost guessed the result. They will either be used to perform rituals to create artificial gods, or be used to extract life and luck. In any case, their fate will not be good.

Later, because Bilson died at the hands of Wayne Stewell in the Hood Island plot, the human trade and transportation were forced to stop. This led to the extraordinary gathering in Docklands, and the subsequent series of disappearances in Docklands.

The scene switched again, and Archbishop Edward arrived at Dockland and entered the underground fortress. The picture froze on his face, and he smiled and sighed:

"This is fate!"

By this point, all the players were terrified, suddenly realizing that everything was connected. The True God was truly terrifying!

At this time, the screen finally locked onto Zhou Ning, and the main film officially began, which made the players breathe a sigh of relief.

The following narrative pace is very fast. Wayne Stewell built the Starry Sky Church from scratch. In particular, Richie Burke made a wish to make the weather in the changeable area clear up instantly, and a rainbow hung in the sky. The scene was even more sacred and glorious.

Then the underwater Shenxing also showed his face, which was a milestone for the players. He made a wish to make the dragon come down and instantly completed the construction of the Holy Star Cathedral. Then there was the sacred scene of Wayne Stewell with lotus flowers blooming everywhere in the church. This became one of the top ten shots of the year.

Then there's the scene where Wayne Stewell, dressed as Batman, enters the secret party being held in Cumberland.

This is the first time that players have seen this type of secret gathering, and they are very curious about this venue that can change its size at will.

At the same time, through the markings of the optical computer, they also recognized Brian wearing a mole mask and Polly who had appeared in the Darkland alchemy bomb case.

At this point, the optical computer thoughtfully provided the order of transactions and a seating list for each auctioneer. After Wayne Stewell acquired several unknown artifacts through the trade, the first round of transactions quickly concluded. In the second round, they also observed the entire process of the transaction through Brian's perspective, which was full of vitality and luck.

The plot then developed as the players expected. Wayne Stewell tracked Cumberland's whereabouts, intercepted him in the Wheatsheil Church Square, and started a fierce battle.

In this battle, Cumberland displayed a power comparable to that of an Angel King, constantly adjusting Zhou Ning's fate with his staff. The visual editing was excellent here, and when the top-tier "Wicked Brother" in the ghost zone made another appearance, the background music switched to the majestic "God's Wrath." When the "Wicked Brother" retracted his head into the wormhole at an even faster speed, a strong contrast was created, making the players laugh.

There is also a shot where Zhou Ning uses the ultimate move of Chongxiao·Wandering Gunner, Blooming·Crimson Garden. Facing an angel-level strongman, a large number of crimson chains spread out from his body, weaving into a crimson garden. Bullets and blades intertwined into rose petals, directly evaporating half of the opponent's health bar. The scene is extremely gorgeous and full of style. For players, although they have seen too many famous scenes of Wayne Stewell, this scene still makes them stunned and shout "666".

Before we can get excited, the scene switches again, and Stuart Crowe, the Archbishop of the Ascetic Church, appears. Cumberland unexpectedly sets himself on fire. The plot is full of twists and turns.

"Damn it! No wonder my skill instructor is gone! I'm so pissed off!"

"Can someone tell me if I can change my job again? I don't want to be a villain!"

"Don't even think about it, just delete your account! Roaming Gunman is your best choice!"

Seeing this, Zhou Ning couldn't help but curl his lips. This was not actually his intention, so he could only say sorry to those druid players.

The following plot is even more tortuous and bizarre under the editing of the optical computer. Just when the player thinks that with the death of Cumberland, this plot has come to an end, the picture rolls back again, and Wayne Stewell appears at the secret party again.

After a series of foreshadowings, the players' emotions have been fully aroused, and this sudden and amazing development makes them eager to watch the following content.

Later, in the secret gathering, the players saw a scene that was completely different from the previous one. Two righteous gods even appeared in the gathering, namely "God of War Bromfield" and "God of Wisdom and Knowledge Guarani".

Seeing this, the commentators all shouted "Wow!" Many players actually recognized this scene from the beginning. There was such a brain-burning five-person copy in the copy sold by Wayne Stewell, and they had never found a solution.

Afterwards, the voice-over narration explained the concepts of lucid dreams, dreams, and dream seeds. Players learned that these two righteous gods came from dream seeds obtained from other people's dreams and were planted in dreams.

In other words, Wayne Stewell and the others are actually in a dream now, and only by making the degree of change in the dream exceed the subconscious of the participants, or by changing the nature of the party, can the dream collapse and they return to reality.

Here I have to praise the editing ability of the optical computer again. The logic of the process that was originally a bit brain-burning was edited by it with extremely clear editing. Here is another famous scene:

Wayne Stewell chanted the name of the God of War to summon his help, allowing the real God of War to face the fake God of War, and Li Kui to fight Li Gui. At the same time, by robbing this extraordinary gathering, he defined the original gathering from a "transaction" to a "robbery", causing the dream to completely collapse and the barrage of comments to explode.

"6666, the protagonist is really calm!"

"That's why I'm a fan of Wayne Stewell. He's always so calm, and he has both wisdom and strength."

Zhou Ning noticed that the computer omitted the scene where he interrogated Cumberland in the Kingdom of God. He didn't know if it was to leave the players with suspense, or if it was because the computer couldn't detect the scenes in the Kingdom of God. Zhou Ning guessed it was most likely the former.

The following plot is still very compact. Stuart Crow visited Zhou Ning's dream, and then the Starry Sky Church, the God of War Church, and the Ascetic Church reached a tripartite alliance, and scheduled to launch an impeachment against the Braxton royal family on July 1453, 7, the day after tomorrow, thus launching a religious war against the Church of the Goddess of Life.

The series is now over two-thirds complete. Unlike previous series, this one is primarily narrative, with a perfect pace that has captivated the audience. They never imagined that so many stories would unfold around the protagonist in just one month.

But what players didn't expect was that the real climax hadn't even begun yet. The subsequent plot, along with the Easter egg plot, pushed the plot of the Death's Shadow expansion to a climax.
