Yun Lang stepped into the tent. The candlelight inside flickered, and the light and shadow danced on his resolute face. Yun Lang strode into the tent.

The generals in the tent saw that he was in a hurry and had a rare excitement in his eyes, and they couldn't help but look at him inquiringly.

Before anyone could speak, Yun Lang slammed the table and shouted, "Generals! Here's your chance!"

The generals all stood up, their eyes fixed on him.

"The Chu army's retreat for no apparent reason is a godsend!" Yun Lang's words resounded. He strode to the sand table in the center of the tent and placed his finger firmly on the mark representing the Chu army's retreat route. "Their morale is wavering right now. This is the perfect time for us to take advantage of their fatigue and strike hard."

Some rubbed their hands excitedly, while others couldn't wait to express their opinions. Lieutenant General Lin Yu, his face flushed with excitement, was the first to stand up and said, "General, this is a brilliant plan! The Chu army is usually arrogant and domineering. Now is the time for us to seek revenge. I am willing to lead the vanguard and charge in the front!"

A veteran general's face was filled with worry. "General, although the Chu army is retreating, Xiang Xiao is a seasoned warrior and a shrewd man. Could he be deliberately showing weakness and setting a trap for us?"

Another older general frowned and stepped forward. "Your Highness, the Chu army is full of tricks. Could this retreat be a deception? If there's an ambush, we could be in trouble if we rashly pursue them."

Yun Lang's eyes sparkled as he looked at the veteran general. "General Li's words are not without reason, but the opportunity for battle is fleeting. We can first send out elite scouts to investigate and find out the army's retreat route and troop deployment. Once it is confirmed to be safe, the main force will immediately attack."

Another young general clenched his fists excitedly: "I am willing to be the vanguard! We must annihilate the Chu army and reclaim our land!"

Yun Lang nodded slightly, his eyes full of praise. "Excellent! General Zhao's courage and perseverance are commendable. Once the scouts report back, you will lead the vanguard and pursue them swiftly. Be sure to strike the Chu army head-on before they gain a foothold."

After the discussion, the generals took their orders and left.

Everyone obeyed the order and quickly dispersed, each returning to camp to make preparations. Yun Lang paced back and forth in the tent, occasionally looking outside, anxiously waiting for the spies to return.

Half an hour later, the spy finally ran in breathlessly, knelt on one knee, and reported anxiously: "General, the Chu army's rear is empty and defenseless. They are indeed retreating!"

Not long after, the scouts came back with a fast horse to report that the Chu army had indeed decided to retreat on a whim and there were no ambush troops in the rear.

Yun Lang raised his sword-like brows and waved his hand. A gleam of light flashed in his eyes, and the corners of his mouth curled up as he sneered, "Well, in that case, we can't miss this opportunity. Pass the order down, all troops assemble immediately and prepare to pursue the Chu army!"

With an order, trumpets sounded in the Yun army camp, the soldiers quickly assembled, and the passionate sound of war drums rang out. The Yun army rushed towards the direction of the Chu army's retreat like a tiger emerging from the mountains.

The horse's hooves raised up billowing dust, which looked like a winding dragon in the sunlight, heading towards an unknown battle.

The vanguard was led by General Zhao, who rode a sturdy black horse, his eyes sharp as an eagle, always keeping a close eye on the situation ahead. They reached a valley that was unusually quiet, with only the whimpering of the wind to fill it.

General Zhao's heart tightened. Years of battle experience made him smell danger. He raised his hand to signal the troops to stop and sent several scouts to explore the way.

However, before the scouts could report back, sharp whistles suddenly sounded on both sides of the valley, and the Chu army's ambush troops poured out from their hiding places like a tide.

Huge rocks and sharp arrows rained down from the heights, smashing into the defenseless Yun army. General Zhao was horrified and hurriedly ordered a breakout, but the retreat had been cut off by the Chu army. The valley was narrow, and the Yun soldiers were huddled together, unable to move their forces and fell into chaos.
