A Shocking Dream
Chapter 67
She hesitated, then extended her finger again, gently pressing on the symbol. This time, she felt a warm current emanate from the symbol, flowing through her fingers and throughout her body. A strange feeling welled up in Yuanyuan's heart, as if she had established some kind of connection with this mysterious place.
As the air surged, the crack in the wall slowly widened, revealing a dark passage. Yuanyuan's heartbeat suddenly accelerated. She didn't know where this passage led to, but she knew that this must be the key clue that the carrier bird had led her to.
She took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to walk into the passage. The passage was filled with an old smell, and a faint light flickered on the wall, as if guiding her forward. Yuanyuan walked carefully, her heart filled with tension and anticipation. She didn't know what she would find in this mysterious passage.
Yuanyuan walked into the corridor, her steps light, as if she was afraid of disturbing anything. The air in the corridor was a little damp, and the faint light on the wall added a touch of mystery to the whole space.
She walked slowly forward, her eyes constantly scanning her surroundings. The walls of the passage seemed to be made of ancient stone, engraved with various strange patterns and symbols. These patterns and symbols were similar to those she had seen at the edge of the gap, but more complex and mysterious.
Yuanyuan leaned closer to the wall, examining the patterns carefully. She discovered that some resembled animals, others resembled mysterious runes, and still others seemed to tell ancient stories. She tried to understand their meaning, but was baffled.
Continuing forward, Yuanyuan noticed the passage began to branch. Unsure which path to take, she hesitated. Then, she felt a faint current of air coming from one of the branching passages. She decided to follow it, hoping it might lead her to more clues.
After walking along this branch passage for a distance, Yuanyuan saw a faint light ahead. She quickened her pace and headed towards the light. As she approached, she discovered it was a small room with an old table and a chair.
A yellowed book sat on the table, its cover etched with strange characters. Yuanyuan carefully picked it up and flipped to the first page. She couldn't understand the text either, but judging by the texture of the paper and the style of the writing, the book clearly had a long history.
She continued flipping through the book, hoping to find some clues that would make sense. Suddenly, a piece of paper slipped out from the book. Yuanyuan picked it up and saw a strange pattern on it: a bright spot in the middle, surrounded by lines and symbols.
Yuanyuan stared at the pattern on the paper, lost in thought. What exactly did this pattern represent? Her eyes were fixed on the strange shape, her thoughts drifting around like flying catkins.
She frowned slightly, her eyes fixed on the faintly shimmering five-pointed star at the center of the pattern. Each corner of the star was sharp, its lines smooth and faintly luminous, as if imbued with boundless mysterious power. Yuanyuan's mind was filled with all sorts of speculations. Was this five-pointed star a symbol? A symbol of strength, hope, or something else entirely? She searched her memory for any clues, but found nothing.
Then, her gaze shifted to the vine-like lines that coiled around the five-pointed star. These lines twisted and turned, seemingly chaotic and disorganized, yet they seemed to follow a certain pattern. They seemed to guard the five-pointed star, as if conveying some unknown message. Yuanyuan gently extended her fingers and slowly traced the lines, feeling their ups and downs and turns. She wondered if these lines were an ancient pictorial language, carrying a specific meaning? If so, how could they be interpreted?
Then, her eyes fell on the rune-like symbols. These symbols varied in shape: some resembled triangles, others circles, and still others irregular polygons. They were scattered around the edges of the pattern, adding a mysterious aura to the overall design. Yuanyuan searched through the ancient texts and legends she had encountered, trying to find any references to these symbols. But her mind came up blank. These symbols seemed to come from a completely unfamiliar world.
Yuanyuan stood up and paced back and forth in the room. Her heart was filled with questions and anxiety. This pattern seemed like a key, opening the door to an unknown world. She had to unravel the pattern's secrets to find her way forward.
She returned to the table, picked up the paper, and carefully examined every detail of the pattern. The paper trembled slightly in her hands, as if it also carried some unknown tension and expectation.
Her eyes were fixed on the pattern, searching for clues in the lines. Some curved, some straight, some thick, some thin, interwoven with each other in a seemingly random pattern. She traced the line from its starting point, watching it twist and turn across the pattern, joining and separating with others, as if telling an elusive story. She imagined these lines might represent paths, directions, or perhaps the flow of some mysterious power, but she could never pin down their precise meaning.
Next, she turned her attention to the shapes of the symbols. Each one was unique and mysterious, some resembling ancient totems, others like mystical runes. She tried to recall similar symbols she had seen in books, or to dig for clues from the corners of her memory. She gently touched the symbols with her fingers, feeling their textures and shapes, as if hoping to establish a spiritual connection with the person who created the pattern.
Yet, everything seemed so mysterious. No matter how hard she observed and thought, she could not decipher the secret of the pattern. She felt a deep sense of frustration, tightly grasping the piece of paper in her hand, as if it was her only hope, yet so far away.
Yuanyuan sighed softly, her eyes filled with confusion and bewilderment. She paced back and forth in the small room, her gaze constantly fixed on the pattern, her mind flooded with questions. Who had created this pattern? Why was it there? What hidden meaning did it hold?
She sat down at the table again, trying to reexamine the pattern, but the lines and symbols remained like a fog, leaving her with no clue where to begin. Frustration followed her, weighing heavily on her heart. She began to doubt her ability to truly solve this mystery.
