A Shocking Dream
Chapter 103
"Wunian...Wunian, hurry up and get up. We're going out for hotpot today." A familiar voice rang beside his ears. Wunian rubbed his sleepy eyes and stretched.
"Oh, I just got off the night shift and went to bed. How could you go there so early?" Wu Nian muttered.
My friend smiled and said, "It's getting late. Good food can't wait. Hurry up and let's go enjoy a delicious hot pot. Just imagine that hot and spicy pot with all kinds of delicious ingredients swirling around. How tempting!"
Wu Nian's heart was moved by her friend's words and she quickly stood up. "Okay, okay, I'll clean up for the hot pot." She quickly washed up, put on her nice clothes, and went out with her friend. Arriving at the hot pot restaurant, the rich aroma filled her nostrils. They ordered a variety of their favorite ingredients and chatted happily while enjoying the delicious hot pot.
"This hotpot restaurant is really good. We can come here often," Wu Nian said contentedly. His friend nodded in agreement, "Yes, it's the most fun to eat hotpot with you. And when I eat hotpot, I feel like all my worries are forgotten." Wu Nian laughed, "That's right, good food really does have the power to heal. Let's go try more delicious food together in the future." In this warm atmosphere, Wu Nian forgot all his worries and thoroughly enjoyed the happy time with his friend.
The familiar joyful scene in memory seemed to have returned to her simple bedroom. The sunlight shone through the window into her room, making it bright. Various fan stickers and posters on the table were classified and stacked on the bookshelf.
She stood quietly in the center of the room, her eyes slowly sweeping over the familiar objects. Each sticker and poster carried a fond memory. The anime characters and passionate story scenes she had once been crazy about now unfolded before her like a series of gorgeous paintings.
She gently walked over to the bookshelf, her fingers gently caressing the stickers and posters. The touch of her fingertips made her heart tremble slightly. She remembered the days when she and her friends discussed fan works, those times filled with laughter and passion.
The sun shone on her body, warm and comfortable. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, as if she could smell the faint scent of memories in the air. In this small room, she found a long-lost sense of peace and security.
"Am I...home?" Lin Wunian looked at everything before her, feeling both real and unreal. She stood in the middle of the room, her eyes filled with surprise and confusion.
The sunlight streamed through the window, shimmering down on her, warm and bright. She tugged at her face in disbelief, the sensation of it making her heart skip a beat. She looked around, the familiar furniture, the neatly arranged books, the decorative paintings on the walls—every detail felt incredibly familiar.
Lin Wunian slowly walked to the window and looked out at the familiar streets and neighboring gardens. A gentle breeze brushed her cheeks, bringing a hint of fresh air. She closed her eyes, taking in all this familiarity, and an indescribable feeling of emotion welled up in her heart.
She didn't know how she got back here, but at this moment, she just wanted to enjoy this rare tranquility and warmth. No matter how noisy and complicated the outside world was, this would always be a place she could rely on.
Lin Wunian took a deep breath and slowly opened her eyes. She decided to cherish this hard-earned moment, rediscover her former self, and bravely face the future.
"Mom and Dad, I'm back!" Lin Wunian happily opened the door and planned to tell her family that she was back, but the scene she saw when she opened the door shocked her.
The house was a mess, furniture toppled over, and the once tidy living room was now a shambles. The pictures on the wall were also tilted, as if they had been through a storm. Lin Wunian's eyes widened, unable to believe what she saw. Her heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and a feeling of unease washed over her.
She walked into the house trembling, calling out her parents' names, but all she got in response was silence. She searched for clues, trying to figure out what had happened. Countless possibilities flashed through her mind, but each one filled her with fear.
Lin Wunian clenched her fists tightly, unsure what to do. This home, once filled with warmth and love, had now become so strange and terrifying. She stood in the middle of the room, tears welling in her eyes, her heart filled with helplessness and confusion.
She slowly squatted down and picked up a crumpled photo from the floor. In it, the family smiled brightly, their happiness seemingly just yesterday. She gently stroked the photo, her fingertips trembling slightly.
"What on earth just happened?" Lin Wunian muttered to herself, her voice choked with sobs. She tried to calm herself down and search for clues. She began to carefully examine every corner of the house, hoping to find any trace of her parents.
However, she found nothing but a chaotic scene. Despair gradually enveloped her, and she felt as if she had fallen into an endless dark abyss. But she knew she couldn't give up. She had to find her parents and reclaim the warm home she once had.
Lin Wunian stood up, took a deep breath, and a determined look appeared in her eyes. She decided to find the neighbors and ask them if they knew what had happened.
Walking past her room, Lin Wunian was startled. On the wall of her room, there was a black and white photo of her. Was she... dead? Lin Wunian looked at her hands in surprise.
Sunlight filtered through the pale blue curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Near the window sat a wooden desk, piled high with books and notebooks. A fountain pen rested quietly on an open page. In a corner, a small potted plant sat, its tender green leaves vibrant in the sunlight.
On the bed, the pink sheets were a bit disheveled, and a cute little bear stuffed animal was carelessly tossed beside it. On the bedside table next to her sat a uniquely shaped lamp and a framed photo of her and her friends. Besides the eerie black-and-white photo, the wall also featured posters of her favorite celebrities and anime stickers.
She slowly approached the photo, her fingers gently touching the cold frame. Her face in the photo was calm, yet tinged with an unspeakable sadness.
"How is this possible? I'm clearly still alive." Lin Wunian whispered to herself, her voice filled with confusion and uneasiness. She looked around, and everything in the room seemed so familiar, yet with a strange sense of strangeness.
She tried hard to recall what had happened before, trying to find some clues. But her mind was in a mess and she couldn't remember anything. Lin Wunian felt as if she was trapped in a huge mystery and couldn't extricate herself.
