Rebirth of the Scumbag and the Retribution of the White Lotus

Chapter 83 The truth of the conspiracy gradually revealed

As the first rays of dawn shone across the city skyline, Shen Yu had already concluded a night's work. He sat on the sofa in his office, a cup of warm coffee in hand, his gaze fixed out the window, seemingly lost in thought. Zhao Bin knocked on the door and entered, holding a stack of organized documents.

"Mr. Shen, this is the key clue we compiled last night." Zhao Bin handed over the document, his tone somewhat serious. "The fund transfer records provided by Chen Dong are indeed true. We have checked several key accounts."

Shen Yu took the document and flipped through it quickly, a sneer curling up at the corner of his mouth: "Zhao Shufang's methods are always inseparable from these watertight disguised accounts. But can she really get away this time?"

"However," Zhao Bin paused, a little hesitant, "Zhao Shufang may have noticed something. Our people discovered that she transferred a batch of core documents from the company last night and sent them to a warehouse in the suburbs."

"Warehouse?" Shen Yu raised his head, his eyes sharp. "What is she hiding in there?"

"It might be her last 'safety'." Zhao Bin whispered, "If we can get these things before she destroys them, we can completely seize the initiative."

Shen Yu nodded slightly and closed the file: "Arrange someone to keep a close eye on the warehouse. Once the situation is confirmed, take action immediately."

Elsewhere, Chen Dong sat awake all night. He sat in his living room, his ashtray overflowing with cigarette butts, the air thick with the smell of smoke. His phone lit up with a message from Zhao Shufang: "Chen Dong, I need your cooperation."

Chen Dong stared at the brief message, his fingertips trembling slightly. He knew he had no way out. Last night's conversation with Shen Yu had made him realize that Zhao Shufang's empire was crumbling, and he had to choose the right side in this game.

A few seconds later, he called Zhao Shufang. The call was quickly connected, and Zhao Shufang's voice was full of her usual authority: "Chen Dong, why haven't you taken action yet? The longer you delay, the more dangerous it will be for Shen Yu!"

"Boss Zhao," Chen Dong whispered, a hint of probing in his tone, "I don't think now is a good time to confront Shen Yu. How about we take it slow and see his next move?"

"Slowly?" Zhao Shufang sneered. "Chen Dong, have you forgotten how much money you took? At this critical juncture, you're trying to back down? I'm telling you, either listen to me, or—" She paused, her tone suddenly cold, "You know the consequences."

Chen Dong clenched his phone and said through gritted teeth, "I understand, Mr. Zhao."

After hanging up the phone, Chen Dong's expression became extremely complicated. He was already standing at the forefront of the storm, and no matter which side he chose, he might pay a heavy price.

That evening, Shen Yu personally led his team into Zhao Shufang's warehouse in the suburbs. As the setting sun cast its rays over the dilapidated warehouse, several of his men quickly surrounded the area.

"Mr. Shen, the person has been controlled." Zhao Bin walked over quickly and reported in a low voice.

"Okay," Shen Yu nodded and raised his hand to signal his men to move, "Go in and find what she's hiding."

The warehouse door creaked under the force of his men's push and then flew open. Inside was a pile of boxes and documents, emitting a smell of dust.

Shen Yu walked in, his eyes scanning the surroundings sharply, and soon stopped at a computer in the corner. "Zhao Bin, bring the computer over and see if there's anything we need."

Zhao Bin immediately stepped forward and connected the computer to his portable device to read it. After a few minutes, he looked up with a hint of joy on his face. "Mr. Shen, there are some hidden encrypted files here. They may be her core information."

Shen Yu raised his eyebrows: "Crack it."

Zhao Bin nodded, his fingers rapidly tapping away on the keyboard. A few minutes later, a series of folder names appeared on the screen, one of which was clearly titled "Emergency Plan."

Shen Yu stared at the screen, a cold look flashing in his eyes: "Open it."

The folder contained a series of detailed records of fund flows, as well as several audio recordings of conversations. Zhao Bin played one of the recordings, and only Zhao Shufang's voice could be heard coming from the speaker:

"As long as the funds are transferred successfully, even if Shen Yu finds out, it will be too late. Chen Dong is the key, and we must make sure he keeps a hold of Shen Yu."

After hearing this recording, Shen Yu sneered, "Zhao Shufang, it seems your wishful thinking will not work."

After the warehouse operation was completed, Shen Yu handed the documents over to the legal department and arranged for someone to back up the evidence to ensure that there were no mistakes. However, he knew in his heart that Zhao Shufang would not give up easily.

That night, Zhao Shufang called. Her voice was still calm, but Shen Yu could hear her anxiety: "Boss Shen, you're making such a fuss, are you planning to break up with me?"

Shen Yu leaned back in his chair, his tone indifferent: "Boss Zhao, do you think I still need to be polite to you?"

Zhao Shufang chuckled and whispered, "Shen Yu, don't forget, we were once partners. Now, do you really want to leave me with no way out?"

"Mr. Zhao," Shen Yu said coldly, "You choose your own path. I'm just asking you to pay for your choice."

Zhao Shufang was silent for a moment, then hung up. Shen Yu put down his phone, a chill in his eyes. He knew this battle wasn't over yet, and every next step would determine the outcome.
