The morning sun shone through the curtains onto Li Ting's bedside. She opened her eyes, her gaze determined, and a new plan in mind. While her stepmother and Zhao Shufang's reactions had given her an initial victory, she knew the battle was far from over. Her goal wasn't just to keep her mother's job; more importantly, to completely change her own position in the family.

She knew that today's situation would be a turning point. Zhao Shufang would not let this opportunity go easily, and her stepmother would not willingly hand over all decision-making power to her.

My stepmother had gotten up early and was about to serve breakfast when Li Ting and Zhao Shufang were already seated at the table. Li Ting slowly raised her head, a faint smile on her face, seemingly in a good mood. Zhao Shufang, on the other hand, seemed a little impatient and kept her head down, silent. Clearly, she was upset by yesterday's conversation.

Stepmother served breakfast and patted Zhao Shufang's hand. "Eat something, Shufang. Are you ready to go to work today?"

Zhao Shufang responded and whispered, "I'm ready."

The stepmother then looked at Li Ting and asked tentatively, "Li Ting, what are your plans for today?"

Li Ting put down the bowl and answered slowly, "I will go to the hospital today to find out more about the situation. After all, the next work needs to be handed over as soon as possible."

The stepmother nodded, a subtle emotion flashed in her eyes, and she seemed a little uneasy: "That's good, the sooner things are done, the better."

Zhao Shufang suddenly interrupted, her tone tinged with dissatisfaction: "Sister, are you really going to do this? Handing over the work so soon? Then you have to think carefully. If something goes wrong again, it will be too late to regret it."

Li Ting looked at Zhao Shufang, a hint of coldness flashed in her eyes, but she still had a gentle smile on her face: "Shufang, the problem will not be solved. The longer it is delayed, the more trouble it will cause. You don't want to complicate things, right?"

Zhao Shufang frowned, obviously reminded by Li Ting's words, but she was still a little unconvinced: "But can you think clearly, the job your mother left behind is not just an ordinary position, it involves a lot of things. Do you think you are capable of it?"

Li Ting remained calm and responded softly, "I know I can do it. As for the rest, I will find out for myself."

Although Zhao Shufang was unwilling in her heart, she knew that she was powerless to refute it now, so she could only lower her head and stop talking.

Li Ting went to the hospital as planned and communicated with the doctor who would take over the job and the hospital management to ensure the proper handover. She knew in her heart that although the job was temporarily handed over to her, she still had to keep a low profile to prevent her stepmother and Zhao Shufang from reacting.

It was already evening when she returned home. Her stepmother looked anxious, and Zhao Shufang remained sullen. Li Ting returned to her room, changed her clothes, and then spoke slowly, "I went to the hospital today, and the subsequent handover went smoothly. I'll follow up tomorrow."

The stepmother nodded quickly: "That's good, Li Ting, go ahead and do it as soon as possible."

Li Ting didn't answer. Instead, she slowly walked to the table, picked up the letter on the table, looked at it, and then slowly said, "Stepmother, regarding the work left by my mother, I think there should be a clear division of labor."

Zhao Shufang seemed a little impatient: "Here you go again, do you think you are very capable and want to control everything?"

Li Ting turned to look at her and smiled slightly: "Shufang, I don't want to be in charge. I just hope that the distribution can be based on ability. Otherwise, if the work is not done well, no one will benefit."

The stepmother frowned and said, "Li Ting, although you have this plan, we also have to consider Zhao Shufang's ability. After all, she has some experience."

Li Ting chuckled, a hint of coldness flashing in her eyes: "Experience can be cultivated, but if you don't have the ability, no experience is useful."

When Zhao Shufang heard this, she immediately stood up and said angrily, "What do you mean? Hasn't my mother always supported me in doing these things?"

Li Ting calmly put down the letter in her hand and responded calmly, "I just hope that we can distribute the work fairly and reasonably, rather than letting all the responsibility fall on one person just because of so-called experience."

Zhao Shufang was so angry that her face turned red, but she had no reason to refute. Her stepmother looked embarrassed. Although she supported Li Ting's approach, she also knew that such a distribution would definitely cause dissatisfaction among Zhao Shufang.

Late at night, Li Ting sat alone in her study, looking through the documents her mother had left behind. She knew time was running out. Even though her stepmother and Zhao Shufang had temporarily compromised, that didn't mean they would remain submissive. She had to seize control of the situation within the limited time available.

Suddenly, there was a light knock on the door, and my stepmother's voice came from outside the door: "Li Ting, can we talk?"

Li Ting put down the documents, stood up, and walked to the door: "What's going on?"

The stepmother looked at her with a hint of complicated emotions in her eyes: "I know you don't trust us very much and are not willing to compromise. But I want to tell you that there are some things in this family that you can't decide based on your own ideas alone."

Li Ting looked at her stepmother deeply, knowing that her attitude was somewhat awkward at the moment: "I know. But all this is too important to me."

The stepmother was silent for a moment, then sighed: "I understand you. But you have to understand that life can't always go the way you want. There will always be things that are not satisfactory."

Li Ting nodded, her tone firm: "I know, and it is precisely because I know this that I will work harder to master the parts that I can control."

The stepmother seemed touched by her words, and her eyes softened: "You are very smart and capable. I believe you can do well."

Li Ting smiled slightly: "Thank you for your support, stepmother. I will do my best."
