Li Ting stood by the window, a breeze brushing against her cheeks, bringing a touch of coolness. Her resolve grew stronger, and she quietly began planning her first move.

"Starting tomorrow, I will let those people know that their fate is no longer in their control." She whispered, with a calm and sharp light in her eyes.

She knew that the first step had to be to prevent her stepsister from taking over her mother's job. If this was not resolved first, she would never be able to gain a foothold in this family.

Li Ting walked resolutely toward the dining room and saw her father and stepmother enjoying breakfast. She smiled faintly and sat down at the table, her eyes unconsciously falling on the corner of the table where her mother had once sat. That was where her mother usually sat, and now her stepmother sat there leisurely, a look of satisfaction on her face.

"Ting'er, come and have breakfast." There was a subtle hypocrisy in the stepmother's voice.

Li Ting nodded, her eyes scanning the thick file beside her stepmother. It was her mother's work schedule. Li Ting knew that this was a secret decision made by her father and stepmother to send her to the countryside as an "educated youth" to take her mother's place.

"Dad, Mom," she deliberately brought up the topic, her voice clear and calm, "I'm going to the countryside tomorrow. What are your plans?"

The stepmother raised her head and smiled slightly: "Aren't you going to work in the countryside? We have already arranged everything for you. Everything is settled."

Li Ting lowered her head, her fingers gently moving the teacup on the table, and sneered inwardly. She knew that all this was just a plan that her stepmother and father had agreed on long ago, and she was the one being sacrificed.

"I understand." She nodded, then suddenly looked up, her eyes revealing a determination that could not be ignored. "But I have a request."

The stepmother raised her eyebrows, "What request?"

Li Ting smiled softly: "I hope to retain my mother's position. After all, it is the only legacy she left behind. I can't let my stepsister take over."

The stepmother's face darkened instantly. She obviously didn't expect Li Ting to make such a request. "You—" the stepmother sneered, "Don't you want to do something for your future?"

"The future?" Li Ting raised an eyebrow. "That's my mother's job, not my stepsister's."

Her father looked embarrassed but said nothing. Li Ting glanced at her father and immediately realized that her father did not fully support her stepmother's plan, but was just influenced by her.

"If I don't sell my mother's position, how can I go to the countryside with peace of mind? After all, this is not the position my stepsister needs." She said coldly, with a threat implied in her words that could not be ignored.

The stepmother was stunned for a moment, her face turned ugly, but she still said stubbornly: "What do you want to do about this? We don't have time to waste."

Li Ting smiled slightly, with a deep look in her eyes: "How about selling this job to someone else instead of leaving it to my stepsister?"

The stepmother obviously realized Li Ting's determination, and her face became even gloomier. "What do you mean? Aren't you going to the countryside anymore?"

Li Ting gently put down the teacup, expressionless: "What if I don't go to the countryside? I will find other ways. Just like my mother's job, I won't let my stepsister take over. No one can force me to do something I don't want to do."

The stepmother slammed the table angrily: "You...you dare to threaten me!"

Li Ting's eyes swept over her coldly, her tone clear and calm: "I'm just asking for fairness. If you don't intend to give me the right to choose, then I will fight for it in my own way."

My father finally couldn't help but speak, his voice a little weak: "Li Ting, don't be so impulsive."

Li Ting looked at her father's expression, her heart fluttering slightly, but she quickly regained her composure. She knew that her father had always been a weak man and would never put up any strong resistance.

"Okay, I'll give you some time to think about it. Before I go to the countryside tomorrow, you can decide the outcome for yourselves."

After saying that, Li Ting stood up and walked out of the restaurant without looking back, leaving her father and stepmother looking at each other in bewilderment.

Li Ting knew that her stepmother and father would never give in easily this time, but she also foresaw that they could not afford her counterattack. She decided to use the reputation and connections left by her mother to fight back.

She quickly found her mother's old friend, who was once the head of a village art troupe, and broke the news to her: "Do you also think that my stepmother wants to gain something from my position?"

The woman was stunned for a moment, then quickly realized: "What do you mean?"

Li Ting smiled slightly and said casually, "I can sell this job to someone who really needs it. What do you think?"

The woman pondered for a moment, then her expression changed: "This is a good opportunity. If you do well, you can stay in the city instead of going to the countryside."

Li Ting nodded: "So I need your help to help me sell this position to the person my stepsister wants."

She knew very well that she had to make use of all available resources, and this head of the art troupe happened to provide her with an opportunity.

After returning home, Li Ting stood by the window and took a deep breath. She knew that the first step had been successful, and the next step was to wait patiently for the results.

Tonight, she was destined not to be the girl who was manipulated by others. And everything she did was just to make those who had betrayed her pay the price.
