Chapter 11 Qingyun Sect

The time spent on the Spirit Boat passed quickly, and in the afternoon of the ninth day, "We've arrived at the sect, let's all get off," Lu Feng reminded.

Everyone got off the spirit boat one after another and came to a square.

"Senior Brother Lu, Senior Brother You, you are back from recruiting disciples. Did you have a smooth journey?" said a young man in a green shirt.

"Junior Brother Zhang, Junior Brother Wang, you are on duty today. The journey went smoothly and nothing went wrong. Have the brothers and sisters who went to other counties returned?" asked Senior Brother Lu.

"They have all returned in the past two days, except for a few brothers who live farther away. They will probably be back tonight, or tomorrow at the latest," one of them replied.

"Then you take them to find a place to stay first. Junior Brother You and I will go to the Deacon Hall to hand in the mission."

Then he said to Wu Ming and the other fifty or so people, "Follow Junior Brother Zhang. He'll take you to a place to stay." With that, he and You Anbai summoned their flying swords and soared into the sky. The fifty or so young men and women, who had never seen flying swords before, gazed enviously at the place where the two men departed.

"Alright, follow me, don't run around. You can call me Brother Zhang." He then walked towards a group of buildings. Everyone hurried to catch up, after all, they were unfamiliar with the place and still felt a little uncomfortable.

"This is where you'll be staying for the next few days. Each of you will have a room. You can choose your own. I'll take you to dinner tonight." After saying that, he left on his own. Someone came out of the room and called out to Senior Brother Zhang, but he ignored them.

After Senior Brother Zhang left, everyone started choosing their rooms. After choosing their rooms, the four people from Li Village gathered together. "This is Qingyun Sect, and it doesn't feel any different." Wang Xiaohu said a little indignantly.

"This should only be the place where new disciples live. It looks like there are already hundreds of people living here. We should have to wait until everyone arrives before we can officially enter." Wu Ming continued.

"The four of us from Li Village are entering Qingyun Sect this time, so we must unite as one and hope to make a name for ourselves," Li Fei said. The four of them nodded in agreement. After all, they had a very good relationship in the village and saw each other every day.

Night fell in a flash, and everyone returned to their rooms. Wu Ming was still thinking about what he had seen and heard at dinner. There had been about three or four hundred people there, all in their teens, the oldest no older than twenty, the youngest around eleven or twelve. Their abilities were unclear. He wondered what awaited them tomorrow, whether there would be an entrance test or a competition.

A night passed, and when Wu Ming and his three companions came back from breakfast, they saw several sword lights falling from the sky, revealing a dozen senior brothers in green robes, among whom was Senior Brother Lu.

"Everyone from Linhe County, come to my side." Senior Brother Lu shouted. Hearing Senior Brother Lu's words, everyone from Linhe County gathered around Senior Brother Lu. Someone asked, "Senior Brother Lu, are you going to be initiated today?"

"All the new recruits are back. We will have a unified test today, and then we will be admitted. Follow me later and don't go to the wrong place." After saying this, Senior Brother Lu led everyone to the square.

By the time they reached the square, there were already several formations, likely from other villages. Wu Ming took a quick look and saw that some formations had sixty or seventy people, while others had only a dozen or so. Their formation, with just over fifty, was considered above average. After a while, everyone had arrived, nearly six or seven hundred people, divided into twelve formations.

A disciple in green clothes came forward and said, "The once-in-ten-years recruitment of new members of my Qingyun Sect has officially begun. You are already considered my disciples of the Qingyun Sect. Everything must follow the rules of the Qingyun Sect. If anyone disobeys, don't blame me for being ruthless." His voice was not loud, but everyone heard it clearly, and they all felt a chill coming towards them, and everyone shuddered.

"Now, please invite the deacon elder of Qingyun Sect to speak to the elders."

An old man in a purple robe and a goatee stepped forward. "Don't be nervous, everyone. Today is just a retest. It won't affect your admission into the Qingyun Sect. You are the foundation of the Qingyun Sect now, and you will be its pillars for decades and centuries to come. I hope you will advance further on your path of cultivation and live long and healthy lives. Now the test officially begins."

Then the young man began to direct the new disciples to begin the test. Unlike the previous test in the county, this time, each group of ten entered a formation. Within half a cup of tea, all ten emerged, and then the next group began the test.

After testing more than ten groups, another group came out. With everyone looking confused, the elder waved his hand and directly suppressed one of the teenagers.

"I didn't expect that they haven't given up yet and want to send someone to sneak into the sect again. Brother Ouyang, you keep an eye on this person first." Elder Xiang said while stroking his beard.

The man in green stepped forward and lifted the suppressed young man aside, allowing the others to continue the test. Everyone suppressed their doubts and continued the test.

Half a day passed, and everyone had completed their tests. Elder Xiang lifted the three people and flew away, leaving the man in green to continue presiding. "Let me first congratulate you all on becoming Qingyun Sect's candidate disciples. I hope we can all work together in the future. Junior brothers, please take them to the Newcomer Academy. I will return to report."

Amidst everyone's incredulous gazes, the man in green flew away on his sword. No one expected that he would become a master so quickly. Everyone thought he was going to have a competition or something.

Under the guidance of the senior brothers, everyone came to a courtyard on a mountain top with the words "Newcomers' Courtyard" written on it.

"You will live on this mountain for the next few years. This is the place where new disciples practice. You will be limited to the area around this mountain. Once you become outer disciples, you can move freely within the sect. Next, I will take you to get your things."

After receiving the things and finding a place to stay, several brothers also left. Wu Ming returned to the room to check the things he received today, four booklets, two sets of gray sect suits, and a bottle of Qi Condensation Pill. The booklets are the Qingyun Sect Rules, which mainly describe the rules that disciples of the Qingyun Sect need to abide by and the red lines that cannot be crossed. One is the Guide to the World of Immortal Cultivation, which contains a lot of things, from the introduction of the sect, dangerous places, weapons, the hundred arts of immortal cultivation, and the introduction of natural treasures. It is hundreds of pages long and it will probably take a long time to digest. There is also a book called The Origin of Immortal Cultivation, which tells the origin of immortal cultivation and what it means to cultivate immortality. It is obscure and difficult to understand, and it is confusing. There is also a book called Qi Refining Secrets, which is the method of future cultivation.

Wu Ming picked up the Qi Refining Art and began to read it. Unlike the Qi Gathering Art, the Qi Refining Art had three levels of practice, allowing one to cultivate to the third level, while the Qi Gathering Art merely provided guidance for Qi training, limiting one level to the first. He figured this was the technique he would cultivate in the future. However, Wu Ming found so much he didn't understand that he wanted to practice it, but he didn't know where to begin. After reading it several times, he gave up and picked up the Guide to the Immortal Cultivation World. He found this book particularly captivating, and the various natural treasures and spiritual tools it introduced made Wu Ming eager to try.

And Wu Ming's life in the sect officially began.
