God Slayer: Make Up for the Past
Chapter 63: Entering the Evil Spirit's Lair
The warehouse door groaned harshly, its rusted metal gleaming coldly in the night. A cold, damp air, tinged with a faint stench of decay, washed over Chu Feng, causing him to frown. The warehouse was pitch black, pitch black, with only the faint moonlight filtering through the crack in the door barely illuminating a vague outline.
Chu Feng stepped cautiously into the warehouse, his feet creaking under thick dust and gravel. He held his breath, listening intently to the sounds around him, afraid of disturbing anything. The warehouse was eerily quiet, with only the sound of his own heartbeat echoing in his chest.
He groped his way along the wall, hoping to find some clues. The wall was rough and cold, like the skin of some creature, which made him feel uncomfortable. Suddenly, he felt a slight movement, as if something was watching him in the darkness.
"Who's there?" Chu Feng shouted in a low voice, and at the same time quickly pulled out the special dagger equipped by the night watchman from his waist. The blade of the dagger reflected a cold light in the darkness.
There was no response, only dead silence.
Chu Feng gripped his dagger tightly and slowly moved forward. A rustling sound came from deep within the warehouse, as if something were crawling. He cautiously approached the source and discovered that the sound came from behind a pile of debris.
He kicked away the debris with a fierce kick, pointing the dagger straight ahead. However, there was nothing there, only a few rats fleeing in panic.
Chu Feng secretly breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that he might have been too nervous. He put away his dagger and was about to continue searching when suddenly, the warehouse door slammed shut.
Chu Feng turned around suddenly and saw that the warehouse door was closed and it was pitch black outside. He tried to push the door, but it didn't budge, as if it was locked from the outside.
"Damn it!" Chu Feng cursed, realizing that he might have been ambushed.
At this moment, several figures walked out from the shadow of the warehouse. They were tall and agile, with strange red light flashing in their eyes.
"Who are you?" Chu Feng asked sternly.
No one answered. The figures roared and lunged at Chu Feng. Chu Feng brandished his dagger and engaged them. He discovered that these people were incredibly strong, incredibly fast, and seemed to feel no pain.
Chu Feng gradually felt powerless. He could no longer fight four people with his two fists, and scars began to appear on his body. He realized that these people might be controlled by evil spirits, and ordinary attacks would have no effect on them.
"I must find a way to escape!" Chu Feng said in his heart.
He fought and retreated, trying to find a way to escape. However, the warehouse windows were all sealed, and the only exit was the locked door.
Chu Feng was forced into a corner, his body already wounded in many places, and his breathing became rapid. He looked at the approaching figure, his heart filled with despair.
"It seems that today..." Chu Feng gritted his teeth and prepared to make a final desperate fight.
Suddenly, a voice came from outside the warehouse door: "Chu Feng, hold on!"
Outside the warehouse, Pan Yue kicked open the rusty door and shot in like an arrow. In his hand, he clutched a rune sword that gleamed with a cold light, its blade humming like a beast poised for attack.
"Pan Yue!" Chu Feng was cheered up when he saw the person coming.
Pan Yue, without hesitation, plunged into the fray. Swinging his rune sword, he unleashed a surge of energy, forcing back the mysterious figures besieging Chu Feng. His agility and sharp moves darted through the enemy ranks like a ghost. Unlike Chu Feng, who appeared slightly flustered, Pan Yue appeared at ease, attacking his enemies' weaknesses with pinpoint precision, each strike carrying the force of thunder.
With Pan Yue's arrival, the tide of battle shifted. The two men worked in perfect harmony, providing mutual protection and forcing the previously dominant mysterious figures into retreat. Chu Feng seized the opportunity and delivered a fierce kick, striking one of the mysterious figures squarely in the chest. The figure grunted and stumbled back, revealing a symbol hidden beneath his black clothing—a twisted, serpentine pattern, the very symbol of Ding Xieling's controller!
"It's really him!" A gleam of light flashed in Chu Feng's eyes. He exchanged glances with Pan Yue. Both of them knew in their hearts that they were one step closer to the truth.
Seeing the situation was not good, the mysterious people retreated and tried to escape from the warehouse. Pan Yue was about to chase them when he heard a rapid ringing from Chu Feng's communicator.
"Chu Feng, the flower artist's condition has suddenly worsened, you must come back immediately!" An anxious voice came from the communicator.
Chu Feng's face changed. The safety of the flower artist was his biggest concern. However, if he left now, he might lose the best opportunity to track down the manipulator of Ding Xieling, which put him in a dilemma.
Pan Yue noticed Chu Feng's hesitation and said in a deep voice, "You go ahead, leave this to me."
Chu Feng looked at Pan Yue deeply. He knew that it would be very difficult for Pan Yue to deal with these mysterious people alone, but he had no other choice. He had to go back and save the flower artist.
"Please!" Chu Feng said, and rushed out of the warehouse without looking back.
He ran all the way, the florist's pale face constantly appearing in his mind. He had to hurry, he had to get back before she was completely devoured by the evil spirit.
When Chu Feng arrived at the florist's residence, a powerful evil aura assaulted him, suffocating him. He flung the door open, only to find the room in utter disarray. The florist lay in bed, her face pale and her breath weak. Standing beside her bed was a twisted, hideous evil spirit. It emanated a sickening stench of decay, its eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty red light.
"You're finally here..." The evil spirit laughed eeriely, the sound like nails scratching on a blackboard, harsh and unpleasant.
Chu Feng gripped the dagger tightly in his hand, his eyes cold and fearless. He knew a fierce battle was inevitable... He took a deep breath, slowly raised the dagger, and whispered, "I won't let you succeed."
Chu Feng's eyes were like ice-hardened blades, staring directly at the evil spirit before him. The room was filled with a strong evil aura, making it difficult for him to breathe. Without hesitation, he brandished his dagger and pounced at the evil spirit.
The evil spirit let out a sharp roar, its body suddenly expanding, transforming into a cloud of black mist, sweeping towards Chu Feng. Chu Feng deftly dodged the mist's attack, his dagger slicing through the air with a sharp whistling sound. He used all his strength in each strike, but it felt like hitting cotton, inflicting no substantial damage to the evil spirit.
The evil spirit constantly shifted its form, sometimes transforming into a ferocious beast, sometimes into an elusive black shadow, making it difficult for Chu Feng to grasp its grasp. During one encounter, the evil spirit's sharp claws lacerated Chu Feng's arm, and blood instantly gushed out. Chu Feng gritted his teeth, enduring the pain as he continued to swing his dagger.
"Chu Feng, let me help you!"
Pan Yue's voice came from the doorway. He held a rune sword in his hand, its blade gleaming with dazzling light. He joined the fray, the rune sword imbued with powerful spiritual power, and each swing pushed the evil spirit back a little.
However, the power of the evil spirit seemed to be increasing, and even Pan Yue's rune sword could not completely suppress it. Chu Feng and Pan Yue stood back to back, both of them were injured, but there was no fear in their eyes.
The florist lying on the bed moaned faintly in a coma, saying something intermittently: "Don't... don't come near me... Ding... Ding..."
Chu Feng approached the flower artist, listening carefully to her mumblings. A shudder struck him. Could it be that the flower artist knew more about the person controlling Ding Xie's spirit? He clenched his fists, his pity for her growing even stronger. He had to save her, and find the person controlling Ding Xie's spirit who was hiding behind her!
At this moment, the evil spirit suddenly let out a deafening roar, and its body expanded again, becoming even larger, shattering the furniture in the room. It opened its bloody mouth and pounced towards Chu Feng and Pan Yue.
Chu Feng and Pan Yue tried their best to resist the evil spirit's attack, but their strength seemed so small in front of the evil spirit. Chu Feng felt that his body had reached its limit, and his vision began to blur, but he still did not give up. He held the dagger tightly, his eyes full of determination.
Suddenly, the florist opened her eyes abruptly, a strange red light flashed in her eyes, and a sharp cry came out of her mouth... "No..." Chu Feng looked at the florist in horror, with an ominous premonition in his heart.
