God Slayer: Make Up for the Past

Chapter 37: The Defeat of the Evil Spirits: Peaceful Day on Campus

In the pitch-black space, it was pitch black. A thick, evil aura spread like ink, oppressive and suffocating. Chu Feng and Pan Yue clasped each other's hands tightly, groping in the darkness, wary of attacks from any direction. He Xieling's aura vanished, as if blending into the darkness, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

"Where is it?" Pan Yue's voice was low and tense, and it sounded particularly clear in this silent space.

Chu Feng didn't answer. He was completely absorbed in the movements around him, his clothes soaked with sweat. He Xieling's silence was more terrifying than his roar. It was like a venomous snake lurking in the shadows, ready to strike a fatal blow at any moment.

Suddenly, Chu Feng felt a cold breath coming from the left. He pushed Pan Yue away suddenly. At the same time, a black claw came out from the darkness and hit his chest hard.

"Chu Feng!" Pan Yue exclaimed and wanted to rush forward, but was blocked by a powerful force.

Chu Feng was knocked out and fell heavily to the ground, spurting out a mouthful of blood. He struggled to stand up, but felt weak all over. The severe pain made it almost impossible for him to breathe.

In the darkness, He Xieling's figure gradually appeared. It let out a sharp hiss, and black evil energy rolled around it, as if celebrating its victory.

"It's over, you ants who overestimate your own abilities!" He Xieling's voice was full of sarcasm and disdain.

Pan Yue looked at Chu Feng lying on the ground, his eyes filled with anger and worry. He clenched his fists, and the wound on his arm sent waves of pain again, but he could no longer care about it.

"Chu Feng, how are you?" Pan Yue shouted anxiously.

Chu Feng raised his head with difficulty. His face was pale and the blood at the corner of his mouth was shocking. He tried hard to force a smile, wanting to comfort Pan Yue, but he couldn't say a word.

He Xieling approached step by step, stretching out its sharp claws, ready to give Chu Feng the final blow.

"go to hell!"

At this critical moment, Chu Feng suddenly opened his eyes, and a gleam of determination flashed in his eyes.

"Pan Yue... together..."

Chu Feng uttered two words with difficulty: "Together..." He endured the excruciating pain and raised his right hand tremblingly, a faint light flickering in his palm. Pan Yue instantly understood what he meant, and a spark of hope ignited in his eyes. He gritted his teeth, igniting the pain in his arm, and concentrated all his strength in his hand. A ray of icy blue light gathered in his palm.

"The flames are burning the sky!" Chu Feng roared, and the light in his palm suddenly burst out, turning into a red pillar of fire that shot up into the sky, illuminating the entire dark space.

"Ten thousand miles of ice!" Pan Yue attacked at the same time, and the ice-blue light spread instantly, freezing the surrounding evil energy into ice crystals, forming an indestructible barrier.

He Xieling was startled by the sudden attack. He tried to evade, but found himself surrounded by ice crystals, unable to move. The crimson pillar of fire slammed into He Xieling's body, sending him shrill cries. Black evil energy swirled like a boiling oil pan, eventually vanishing in a puff of black smoke.

The surrounding space also returned to normal. No longer was the suffocating darkness, but the familiar campus scene was replaced. Moonlight poured into the classroom through the window, illuminating the terrified faces of the students.

"Is it over?" a student asked tremblingly.

"It's over." Although Chu Feng's voice was weak, it was full of strength.

The students cheered, their fear disappeared without a trace, replaced by the joy of surviving the disaster. They surrounded Chu Feng and Pan Yue, their eyes full of gratitude and admiration.

After the evil spirit disappeared, Lin, who had been affected, returned to normal. His eyes were no longer empty, and his facial expression became natural. He looked around blankly, as if he didn't understand what was happening.

This change made Principal Guo realize his previous mistake. He walked up to Chu Feng with a hint of apology on his face: "Student Chu Feng, I wronged you before. Your courage and ability are worth learning from."

Chu Feng smiled slightly and said nothing more. He knew that his actions had proved everything.

Teacher Su also came over, her face full of surprise and admiration: "Chu Feng, you are so amazing!"

Those who once distrusted Chu Feng now looked upon him with new eyes. Chu Feng had won the trust and respect of most people and was regarded as a hero by the students. He stood in the moonlight, his figure looking exceptionally tall.

Pan Yue walked over to Chu Feng and patted his shoulder: "Are you okay?"

Chu Feng shook his head: "It's okay, just a little tired."

Suddenly, Chu Feng felt a strange breath. He raised his head abruptly and looked towards the teaching building in the distance.

"What's wrong?" Pan Yue noticed Chu Feng's abnormality and looked towards the teaching building.

On the top floor of the teaching building, a dark shadow flashed by and disappeared into the night. Chu Feng narrowed his eyes, and a sense of unease welled up in his heart... "I feel..."

Chu Feng and Pan Yue stood side by side, the power surging from them like a volcano about to erupt. Chu Feng's right hand burned with a fiery flame, seemingly igniting the surrounding air. The blazing flames gathered in his palm, forming a dazzling ball of light. "Burn the Sky!" He roared, and the ball of light flew out of his hand, roaring like a fiery dragon as it charged towards the frozen He Xieling.

Pan Yue's eyes were sharp, and the icy blue light in his hand condensed into a sharp ice arrow. "Break!" He shouted softly, and the ice arrow shot out like lightning, accurately striking He Xieling between the eyebrows. The fire dragon and the ice arrow hit their targets simultaneously, bursting into a dazzling light, like dawn breaking through the darkness, illuminating the entire space shrouded by evil energy. He Xieling let out a shrill roar in the light, and the black evil energy swirled like boiling ink, eventually dissipating into a wisp of black smoke.

The light faded, and the surrounding space returned to normal. Moonlight streamed into the classroom through the shattered windows, illuminating the faces of the students who had survived the ordeal. They cheered and embraced each other, celebrating this hard-earned victory. The haze of fear vanished, replaced by the joy of survival and hope for the future.

Student Lin blinked blankly, his vision gradually regaining clarity, and the strange expression on his face disappeared. He looked around and saw his classmates' excited smiles, as if they still didn't fully understand what was happening.

Chu Feng felt a surge of warmth in his heart as he watched the cheering students. He felt immensely gratified. Their smiles were the best reward for him. They gathered around him, their eyes filled with admiration and gratitude, making him feel the value of his existence. He was no longer the misunderstood, excluded teenager, but a protector, a hero.

Teacher Su excitedly held Chu Feng's hand, tears in her eyes: "Chu Feng, thank you, thank you for saving us!"

Principal Guo also came over with an apologetic look on his face: "Student Chu Feng, I misunderstood you before. Your courage and ability are admirable."

Chu Feng simply smiled. He knew that actions spoke louder than words. He looked around, confirming that all the students were safe and sound, and finally felt relieved.

"Let's go," Chu Feng said to Pan Yue, "There's still a lot to do."

Pan Yue nodded, and the two of them left the school side by side. Although the campus had returned to peace, Chu Feng knew that this was only the beginning of his journey of protection. He recalled the strange evil aura he had felt at the station earlier, and felt a sense of unease. He knew that even more dangerous challenges were waiting for him.

Night enveloped the city as a bus slowly pulled into the station. Chu Feng and Pan Yue got off the bus. As soon as they stepped into the station, Chu Feng felt a strong evil aura coming towards him, even more intense and cold than the evil aura in school. He looked around vigilantly, but could not see any evil spirits. The station was empty, with only dim lights and cold air. Pan Yue also felt something was wrong. He whispered, "Be careful, something is wrong here..." Chu Feng clenched his fists and felt an inexplicable chill rising from the soles of his feet... "I..."
