God Slayer: Make Up for the Past

Chapter 35: The Defenders in the Difficult Situation

The golden light, like the breaking light of dawn, pierced through the dense evil aura. The talisman in Chu Feng's hand, a protective amulet he had received from a reclusive master, now radiated a powerful force, resisting the evil spirit's suction. He felt the restraint in his body ease somewhat, and his consciousness gradually returned to clarity.

"It really works!" Pan Yue was cheered up when he saw this. The magic formulas in his hand changed, and golden light shot towards the evil spirit like a sharp sword.

He Xieling roared angrily, and the suction increased again. Chu Feng groaned as his body was pulled forward again, and the golden light dimmed.

"Hold on, Chu Feng!" Pan Yue shouted anxiously, beads of sweat oozing from his forehead. He knew that the amulet had limited power and could not resist the attacks of evil spirits for long.

The surrounding students were already terrified, screaming and running away. Only Teacher Su remained standing, her face pale and trembling. She wanted to escape, but her legs felt like lead, unable to move.

Principal Guo squeezed out of the crowd. He looked at Chu Feng, who was shrouded in evil spirits, with a frown on his face, his face full of disgust. "You, student, again! What the hell are you doing? You've made the school a mess!"

Chu Feng felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. He had fought the evil spirit with all his might to protect the students, only to be reprimanded by the principal. He wanted to explain, but the excruciating pain and the erosion of the evil spirit prevented him from speaking. He could only groan in pain.

"Principal, now is not the time to blame. Chu Feng is trying to protect us..." Pan Yue tried to explain, but was rudely interrupted by Principal Guo.

"Protect? I think he's just causing trouble! What kind of skills does a trainee night watchman have? He's just causing trouble!" Principal Guo shouted angrily, "Security Officer Xiao! Arrest him!"

Xiao Baoan's face was troubled. Although he had a good impression of Chu Feng, he dared not disobey the principal's words. He walked towards Chu Feng hesitantly, but then stopped. Looking at Chu Feng's painful appearance, his heart was filled with pity.

He Xieling let out a sharp laugh. It sensed Chu Feng's weakness and increased its suction. Chu Feng felt his vitality rapidly fading, and his consciousness became blurred again.

At this moment, several students walked out from the crowd. They bravely stood in front of Chu Feng and shouted at Principal Guo, "Principal! You can't do this! Chu Feng did this to protect us!"

"Yes, Principal, if it weren't for Chu Feng, we would have been captured by the evil spirit long ago!" another student followed suit.

More and more students stood up. They used their bodies to block Chu Feng and looked at Principal Guo with firm eyes.

"You..." Principal Guo looked at these students and was speechless for a moment.

Suddenly, a student pointed at the amulet in Chu Feng's hand and exclaimed, "Look! That amulet..."

The golden light gradually dimmed, like a candle swaying in the wind, ready to go out at any moment. But at this critical moment, a student pointed at the amulet in Chu Feng's hand and exclaimed, "Look! The light on the amulet seems to have intensified!"

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound, and sure enough, the once dim golden light suddenly shone brightly, as if responding to the students' cries of support. A warm current flowed into Chu Feng's heart, and he felt the restraint in his body ease again, and his consciousness became clearer. These trusting eyes, these childish yet firm voices, were like the warm sun on a winter day, dispelling the haze in his heart and giving him the strength to continue fighting.

"We believe you, Chu Feng!" a girl shouted.

"We're here to help you!" Several boys echoed. They picked up stones on the ground and threw them at He Xieling. Although these attacks were insignificant to the evil spirit, they expressed their support for Chu Feng and their resistance to the evil spirit.

Principal Guo looked at the scene with a sullen expression. He had never expected these students to disobey his orders for a trainee night watchman, which made him feel that his authority was being challenged.

Xiao Baoan stood aside silently, watching these brave students with admiration in his heart. He quietly put down his baton, knowing that at this moment he should stand on the side of justice.

At that moment, Pan Yue came running from the library, an ancient book in hand and a hint of excitement on his face. "I found it! I found a way to break the suction!"

Pan Yue flipped through the ancient book quickly, muttering to himself. He took out some talisman paper and materials from his backpack and began to arrange a complex formation around him.

He Xieling sensed Pan Yue's intentions and roared angrily. It brandished its claws, releasing streams of black evil energy in an attempt to disrupt Pan Yue's actions. Simultaneously, several smaller evil spirits separated from its body and pounced on Pan Yue.

"Damn it!" Pan Yue cursed inwardly. He dodged the little evil spirit's attacks while speeding up the formation. His forehead was covered with sweat, but his hands did not stop moving.

Chu Feng struggled hard against the suction, using all his strength to resist the evil spirit's suction. He knew that Pan Yue was buying him time, and he had to hold on and not let Pan Yue's efforts go to waste.

The students around held their breath. They looked at Chu Feng and Pan Yue nervously, praying silently in their hearts.

A little evil spirit took advantage of Pan Yue's inattention and pounced on him, its sharp claws about to grab Pan Yue's shoulder.

Suddenly, a golden light flashed and the little evil spirit was knocked away.

"Security Xiao!" the students shouted in surprise.

Xiao Baoan stood beside Pan Yue, holding a baton, and watched the evil spirits around him vigilantly. Although he did not have strong magical powers, he could use his body to protect Pan Yue and buy him time.

"Thank you!" Pan Yue looked at Xiao Baoan gratefully, and then continued to concentrate on setting up the formation.

The formation gradually took shape, emitting a faint golden light.

He Xieling felt threatened, and with a sharp roar, he pounced towards Pan Yue...

"Chu Feng, hold on!" Pan Yue shouted.

He Xieling's crimson eyes fixed on Pan Yue. It could sense the restraining force within the formation, a nagging unease that gnawed at its heels. A sharp roar erupted from its mouth once again, and thick, black evil energy gushed out like swirling ink, coalescing in the air into small, hideous evil spirits that pounced fearlessly upon Pan Yue.

"Get out of here!" Pan Yue shouted, and the talisman in his hand shot out like a flying knife. In a flash of golden light, several small evil spirits were instantly reduced to ash. But he didn't dare to relax for a moment. More evil spirits rushed in, surrounding him like a tide. He dodged and moved while continuing to set up the formation, his movements so fast that only shadows could be seen.

Chu Feng struggled against the suction. He could feel the evil spirit's anger and impatience, as well as Pan Yue's effort and determination. He knew he couldn't give in; he had to hold on, buying Pan Yue time. He gritted his teeth, summoning every ounce of strength within him to resist the suction that threatened to devour him. Sweat soaked his clothes, and the aching muscles nearly brought him to the point of fainting, but he refused to give up. He watched Pan Yue struggle to maintain the formation amidst the evil spirit's siege, his heart filled with gratitude and admiration.

The surrounding students clenched their fists tightly, their hearts in their throats, as they nervously watched this life-or-death struggle. They were moved by Chu Feng's tenacity and admired Pan Yue's bravery. They silently cheered for the two, hoping that they could defeat the evil spirit and protect the peace of the campus.

"Chu Feng, hold on! You'll be fine soon!" Pan Yue's voice was particularly clear amid the roar of the evil spirit, like a bright light in the darkness, giving Chu Feng infinite hope.

Chu Feng felt a surge of warmth in his heart as he watched Pan Yue surrounded by the small evil spirits. He knew Pan Yue was protecting him with his own life. This trust and tacit understanding deepened their friendship. He took a deep breath, gathering his strength once more, and resisted the evil spirits' pull. He believed in Pan Yue, and he believed they would be able to defeat the evil spirits.

Pan Yue's formation was nearing completion. The complex runes painted on the ground began to emit a faint golden light, and a powerful force was gradually gathering. He Xieling seemed to sense the danger as well. It let out a deafening roar, and the air around it began to violently vibrate. It stopped releasing the small evil spirits and instead concentrated all the evil energy within itself, preparing to launch a fatal attack.

"Oh no! It's going to fight to the death!" Xiao Baoan exclaimed and gripped the baton tighter in his hand.

Pan Yue's expression also grew solemn. He quickened his movements, muttering to himself, "Heavenly Gangs and Earthly Demons, the sun, the moon, and the stars, obey my command! Seal!"

When the last rune was completed, the formation suddenly shone brightly, and the golden light pierced towards He Xieling like a sharp sword.

He Xieling let out a shrill scream, his body trembled violently, and the evil energy around him began to dissipate.

"It's done!" the students cheered.

But at this moment, a flash of madness flashed in He Xieling's eyes, and he roared, "Even if I die, I will drag you down with me!"
