Legend of Mir 2: Seeking the Truth in Marfa
Chapter 99: The Place of Decision
When the Memory Suit pulls a team member, it will pull them next to the captain. The periphery is full of densely packed monsters, and there is only one space behind Brook. Bayin naturally landed in the corner of the empty space.
The spiders became agitated, but they could not attack Bayin and were blocked outside by the invisible Brook and Xiaobai.
Bayin took in the situation and unleashed a wall of fire at the spiders. One wall after another erupted, and the area ahead was a sea of fire. The spiders slithered in the flames, screaming and squeaking as they burned.
The spiders in Crimson Moon Canyon all have one thing in common: their magic defense is very high. The weakest, the Sirius Spider, has a magic defense of 20 points, while the more powerful Steel Fang Spider has a magic defense of 33.
If a different mage came over, say Xiangyi Beibei, currently at level 32, which was already considered high among the otherworldly warriors, even with a full set of Womar gear, a top-grade magic-enhancing helmet and clothing, 5-34 mana, and a level 2 fire wall, she still couldn't burn the spiders.
At level 38, Bayin has 7-42 mana and a Lucky 9 set. Level 3 Fire Wall damage equals mana + 7, so Bayin's Fire Wall damage stabilizes at 49 points. Subtracting the Spider's Magic Defense, it still deals around 16-29 points of damage. While not much, it's enough to burn through.
Brook was not idle either. He kept spraying red and green poison on the spiders on the periphery, causing them to suffer more damage and preventing them from recovering health.
Twenty seconds later, the Moon Demon Spiders were the first to be burned to death. In the wall of fire, the faster you run, the faster you die.
After 30 seconds, the firewalls were extinguished one by one, and Bayin replenished the firewalls.
40 seconds later, the wolf, pattern, steel teeth and other spiders were also burned to death. There were still a few poisonous spiders and black spiders with low health struggling in the fire, and a few long-range attacking fang spiders, which were free from the fire wall.
Bayin and Brook began to kill the long-range Baoya.
After 60 seconds, the spiders in the sunken area were completely destroyed, leaving behind a streak of potions and equipment. Brook picked up over ten healing potions and a bottle of stamina-boosting holy water, but he didn't want the rest. Just like when the beast tide arrived, Ginkgo Village's broadsword-wielding guard, Guli, slaughtered hundreds of monsters, leaving behind a mountain of equipment, yet he didn't bother to pick it up. He looked down on it and didn't want it.
Brook rushed out to lure the monsters, and Bayin continued to lay the fire wall.
After attracting several more waves of monsters, the passage leading to the entrance to the next level was finally opened. The two walked in.
Red Moon Canyon Square.
There are not many monsters nearby, just 4 scattered spiders and 1 blood giant that looks like a gorilla.
Brook Bayin and Xiaobai worked together to kill the spider and the blood giant. The blood giant had 1200 health points, but nothing dropped.
It's safe here. Leaving Bayin and Xiaobai behind, Brook flew out again.
The entrance to the next level is near the center of the map, where there is a crossroads. The entrance is on the far left of the central crossroads.
There were too many monsters in the middle of the map. Brook tried many times but couldn't rush through. Instead, because Brook kept attracting monsters, the monsters on the left side of the intersection kept gathering, and finally it was completely blocked.
There was no other way but to clear it. Brook found a favorable position above the intersection, pulled Bayin over, and began to burn the spider.
The terrain here is open and there are a lot of spiders. Brook led the fire more than 20 times and burned it for more than half an hour before finally clearing a safe passage and revealing a hole that can accommodate one person.
Due to the previous beast tide, nearly every map is teeming with monsters. For example, the rooms of the Demon Sealing Valley caverns are densely packed with monsters upon first entering. However, once cleared, the number of monsters decreases, and even when refreshed, they're never as densely packed as they were the first time.
The monsters in the Red Moon Canyon should have been cleared out by someone, so every time you enter a new map, there are very few monsters at the entrance of the cave.
This is the case for the previous few floors, and it is estimated that the next floor will be the same.
Brooke walked down.
All he could see were monsters! Several massive blood giants and black spiders flanked him. Brook instinctively used a stealth spell, but a moon spider, hiding to the left of the blood giant, spitted out its saliva, instantly knocking Brook back to his original form.
Brooke knew that something bad was going to happen, but he still reminded Bayin: "Don't come in!"
The Blood Giant's palm and the Black Spider's massive pincers slammed down on Brook, who groaned as half his health was instantly shattered. Without even realizing how many monsters had attacked him, he immediately and generously downed two bottles of healing potion. Before the next wave of attacks arrived, he activated the random stone in his backpack and flew out with a whoosh.
Unlucky, he landed in a pile of monsters. Without waiting for the monsters to react, he landed randomly again.
Brooke had no time to cast his invisibility spell. He was on full alert, and after swooshing ten times, he finally landed in a place with fewer monsters. It was a long and narrow passage with two wolf spiders in front of him, a blood zombie next to him, and a merchant behind him.
Brook finally had time to cast invisibility.
This was the Land of Decision, the largest level on the map within the Crimson Moon Canyon. He was currently located in the lower left corner of the Land of Decision, and because of the merchant next to him, Brook could accurately determine his location.
"Bayin, I'm safe. I'll pull you in right away."
Brook first summoned Xiaobai and had him fight with the blood zombie next to him. Then he teleported Bayin over.
Bayin looked at the merchant named Bai Ri Men Warrior with great curiosity. She knew this merchant from Situ Haoyun's notes when she was reading about Red Moon Canyon. He could sell and buy items, and repair equipment. However, he couldn't store items, just like the merchants in the Hegemony Hall.
Being able to run to such a dangerous place and provide shop services to the monks is truly a warrior. He should be like the demon repairman in the Tyrant Hall, with a protective barrier on his body, so the monsters will not attack him.
Let's deal with this blood zombie first. Brook has been poisoned. Bayin waved his magic wand and a bolt of lightning struck, dealing 64 points of damage.
Blood Zombie: HP 1200, Attack 35-50, Defense 18, Magic Defense 30. Its attack is not high, but it has thick skin and flesh, and it has a chance to resurrect, just like the zombies in the mines.
Brook, Bayin, and Xiaobai attacked together and quickly killed the lone blood zombie. There was a loud bang and equipment and potions fell to the ground.
Since there is a merchant next to you, you might as well pick up some equipment and sell it to him directly.
There are two more Sirius Spiders over there, leave them to Xiaobai.
"I picked up a Blood Drinking Sword." Brook handed the weapon to Bayin.
Blood Drinker Sword: Attack 3-14, Magic 3-5, Accuracy +5, Durability 20, Required Mana 27.
I didn't notice it at first, thinking it was a Frost Sword. When I picked it up, I realized the Blood Drinker was slimmer and more elegant than the Frost Sword. It turned out to be a mage's weapon, and its most notable feature was +5 accuracy. It couldn't possibly be used by mages for melee attacks, right?
You have to know that characters have a default magic dodge of 10%. If you add the magic dodge of necklaces, such as Brook's top-grade white tiger teeth, the total magic dodge now reaches 50%. A single spell hitting Brook has only a half chance of hitting.
I wonder if Blood Drink's +5 accuracy is useful for single-target mage skills? Of course, I don't have time to experiment with it right now, so I'll try it later.
