Legend of Mir 2: Seeking the Truth in Marfa
Chapter 441 Meng Huo
Brook finds the elder of Wushuang City.
"Elder, we want to go to Nanzhong for a decisive battle."
"The South Central Showdown is of 4-star difficulty. You are only rank 6 cultivators... Are you sure you want to enter?" The elder reminded.
Generally, only cultivators with 7th level or higher dare to go to the difficult 4-star battlefield. For cultivators with 6th level, the upper limit is mostly 3 stars.
"I'm sure." Brooke confirmed.
"Alright. No one has started the South Central Decisive Battle recently, so you are the first group to enter. Go!"
The elder waved his hand, and Brook and the other two were transported to an underground cavern. As if sensing their arrival, a light gate in the center of the cave slowly appeared, gleaming white. Brook walked in without hesitation.
After waiting for a few seconds in the pitch-black space, he suddenly felt empty and fell. With his previous experience, Brook had already prepared himself mentally. He calmly adjusted his center of gravity, bent his legs, and landed smoothly with a click.
Looking up, I saw that the damn light gate was indeed opened in the air more than 3 meters high.
Bayin fell from the light gate, Brook hugged him and put him down; then it was Wenren Muyue, who also caught him steadily.
"It seems a bit hot here!" Wenren Muyue felt the damp and stuffy air as soon as she came down.
"That means we've come to the right place," Brooke said, looking around.
This is an earthen city built with bluestone and loess; the city walls are not high and the city is not big; the three people are located in a corner of the city.
Inside the city, many soldiers were ready for battle. They wore yellow short-sleeved cloth shirts and held hatchets, machetes, and spears of varying lengths. Some wore armor woven from branches and vines over their short shirts, and held round shields woven from vines.
The soldiers turned their backs to Brook and the other two, and lined up towards the other side of the city gate, waiting.
"What are they doing?"
"I do not know."
"Let's go over and take a look."
A sergeant at the end of the queue heard the movement behind him and turned back to whisper:
"Han friends, come and line up! The King and Madam Zhurong want to talk."
"Oh~ okay. Coming!"
Brook and the other two walked forward and could clearly see two generals of different statures standing in the open space in front of them.
One was a burly man with a broad back and strong waist, as strong as a lion or tiger. He wore a horn helmet and a necklace made of huge gems and wild animal tusks. His upper body was bare, showing off his bronze muscles and totemic tattoos. The weapon in his hand was a pair of sharp tiger claws made of diamond.
The other was a tall, muscular female general with tanned skin. She wore a colorful feather on her head, a short leather jacket and skirt with off-the-shoulder straps, two short swords at her waist, and flame-shaped totems painted on her arms.
Meng Huo, the king of the Southern Barbarians, and his wife Zhurong.
"I heard those guys from Wei came here because they defeated Zhuge Liang and the Shu Kingdom." Meng Huo looked up into the distance and murmured, "The sky over there is probably different from that in the south..."
"What are you still lamenting about? Right now, our only option is to fight the war!" Zhu Rong said from the side. "For our allies, for Nanzhong, and for ourselves, we must be determined to perish together with our enemies!"
"Yes, Madam, you are right! How can we so easily hand over this land to those guys?" Meng Huo turned around and said loudly to the soldiers in formation:
"I, Meng Huo, the King of the Southern Barbarians! I will never give up the land of Nanzhong to anyone else! Drive the enemy out!"
"Drive them out! Drive them out! Ah~" The southern barbarian soldiers waved their weapons, excitedly shouting loudly.
"Pass on my orders! Tuwugu, Mulu, each of you will lead your troops from the north city and advance towards the center. Eliminate all enemies along the way and make sure to capture the enemy's offensive stronghold built in the middle!"
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
"Duosi, hurry to the north, lead your troops, and release the entire beast army to attack the enemy!"
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
"The battle line in the bottom lane is the longest. Zhu Rong and I will handle it. Everyone, we must survive! We will meet at Sima Yi's base camp! Nanman will win!"
"The Nanman will win! The Nanman will win!"
Teams of Nanman soldiers, led by their respective generals, rushed out of the city.
"Han friends, I am going to follow King Mulu to attack the center. You will be safer if you stay in the city. Thank you for coming to Nanzhong to help us. See you again if we have the chance." The sergeant who greeted Brook said goodbye and followed the team out of the north city.
"Some people once said that the people of the southern barbarians are rude and impolite, but this sergeant is quite enthusiastic." Bayin said.
"Well, he seems to treat us as guests. The so-called rudeness is probably how he treats his enemies," said Brooke.
"Meng Huo said the beast army is in the north. Brook, are we going to the north now?" Mu Yue asked.
"It will take some time for King Duosi to gather his troops in the north. No rush, let me get some samples first."
Most of the soldiers had left, and the city suddenly felt much emptier. Brooke quickly found the quartermaster.
"Sir, I'm here to get my equipment," said Brooke.
"Oh? You have stored equipment?" The quartermaster looked at Brooke in confusion.
Brooke was shocked! No? Something lost? He's refusing to admit it?
"Let me see~ Oh! There really is one of your equipment. A vacuum book! Good stuff, very good!" The quartermaster exclaimed, took out the vacuum book and returned it to Brooke.
Brooke breathed a sigh of relief, feeling relieved. He thanked the quartermaster and returned to Bayin Wenren Muyue's side.
"Bayin, tell me the name of the enemy general."
"Sima Yi, Xu Chu, Xu Huang, Sun Li, Cao Hong, Xiahou Ba, Xiahou Wei, Xiahou He, Xiahou Hui, Xiahou Shang, Wang Lang, Xin Pi, Jia Kui."
Brook activated the detection necklace and monitored all these generals.
"Jia Kui? Is that the right name? The detection necklace can't find this person."
"Yes, it was Jia Kui. He's a key figure. He won't arrive at the battlefield until later. It was he who led the Sabre Chariot Unit and defeated the Beast Legion of the Nanman Army."
"understood."
Brooke said, opening the compass map and examining it carefully.
Sima Yi of the Wei army is stationed at his base camp in the upper right corner of the map. He is flanked by his two lieutenants, Cao Hong and Sima Zhao, and directly in front of him stands the general, Xu Huang. His defenses are tight, making it impossible to launch a surprise attack.
The Wei army had Xiahou Ba and Xiahou En on the top road; Xiahou Wei and Xiahou He on the bottom road; and in the most critical middle road, there were four generals scattered around: Xu Chu, Sun Li, Xiahou Shang, and Wang Lang.
According to Meng Huo, the center of the map has been completely occupied by the Wei army, and the Wei army has even built a core offensive stronghold in the central area.
If Meng Huo's plan was followed, the upper and lower lanes wouldn't be a problem. However, in the middle lane, if Tuwugu and Mulu King rashly attacked, it would be a 2 vs. 2 situation, and the enemy had an offensive stronghold. They would probably suffer a great loss.
Special items need to be found, and the battle cannot be lost. Go help in the middle lane.
"Let's go to the middle first. Come on, follow me."
The old rule is to teleport every 200 yards. This way you can travel quickly while still being able to see your surroundings clearly; you won't miss the jars and wooden boxes along the way, nor will you accidentally walk into the enemy's camp due to blind teleportation.
The three of them continued forward, teleporting for dozens of minutes before finally approaching the center of the map. At this point, the Nanman Army was still far behind, and Tuwugu and King Mulu estimated it would take at least another hour to arrive.
Ahead was a high ground, surrounded by Wei soldiers. In the center of the high ground, a wooden fortress could be vaguely seen, which was the offensive stronghold built by the Wei army.
"Look over there, that's Wang Lang!" The three of them crouched behind the bushes and observed. Wenren Muyue, with his sharp eyes, spotted the enemy general in the crowd.
"Bayin, Muyue, retreat to the back corner. Get ready, I'm going to lure the monsters out." Brook said and rushed out.
Bayin and his companions retreated slowly. About 100 yards behind them, there was a corner with a 20-yard-long open space, perfect for fighting.
