Legend of Mir 2: Seeking the Truth in Marfa
Chapter 203 King's Forest
The baby divine beast and three brave babies rushed forward.
The wolves roared fiercely at the babies, but they were no match for them. Ordinary wolf cubs were struck one by one with their axes, and even the hellhounds could not break the physical defenses of the brave babies. Instead, they were beaten and howled, which aroused the wolves' ferocity and made them roar even more frantically.
Based on the damage dealt to the beast, Brook determined the general attributes of the Hellhounds: Attack 50-80, Defense 10, Magic Defense 20. They only had close-range physical attacks, and although there were many of them, they didn't pose much of a threat.
Bayin set up several fire walls against the wolf pack, and then cast Ice Roar, working with the baby to kill all the remaining 10 or so hellhounds.
The wolves and hellhounds dropped nothing. Brook bent down and dug for a while, only finding two pieces of meat. It seemed these wolves weren't demonic beasts from Red Star, but native beasts of Marfa. Perhaps they absorbed the demonic energy of the land and evolved into hellhounds. And coincidentally, this cave became their habitat, blocking Brook and the others' path.
Continuing forward, we were about to reach the cave's exit. Ahead, there was a bright light. When we stepped outside, we saw a lush forest.
King's Forest.
As soon as the two walked out, they heard a "meow~" sound coming from the front left. It turned out to be a group of hooked cats that discovered them and walked straight towards them.
No, these weren't hooked cats. Ordinary hooked cats wouldn't be so alert. Upon closer inspection, they turned out to be hooked cat kings, over twenty of them.
Multi-Hook Elvis: HP 1200, Defense 15, Magic Defense 25, Attack 20-130.
There were too many of them, so Brook and Bayin didn't want to fight them and immediately wanted to retreat to the right. After running two steps, they found a group of cat-shaped monsters in front of them on the right.
Elvis with Rake: HP 1200, Defense 15, Magic Defense 25, Attack 20-130.
Just got out of the wolf's den and fell into the cat's den.
"Back off, go into the cave and fight them."
The two simply retreated to the cave they came from. The terrain there was good and was perfect for dealing with these cat kings.
The pets blocked their position, and the Hooked Elvis approached, scattering green and red poisons and a wall of fire. While the Elvises' rakes were powerful, they were no match for the 100-defense Dayong pet. Unable to break through the pet's defenses, they could only move back and forth within the wall of fire, constantly being burned.
After Bayin equips the Soul-Eating Staff with a magic power of 2-21, her magic power cap reaches 56. This isn't her highest attribute, as she also wears a protective ring on her right hand. Even so, the Fire Wall still deals 45 points of damage each time.
There were over 40 Elvises in the two groups combined. If they were to attack one by one with lightning, it would probably take over 10 minutes. A wall of fire would burn the fastest.
After a few minutes, all the Elvis were killed, and a lot of ordinary equipment, healing potions, several platinum rings, memory helmets and other WoMa equipment dropped.
Their backpacks were almost empty, and they only picked up the memory helmet and platinum ring. Then they walked out of the cave again.
Although there was no map, generally speaking, entrances and exits were relative to each other. If you wanted to reach the next exit, you should keep going straight. But Brook ran to the left, following the valley. He kept running, even if he encountered monsters along the way. As long as his path was not blocked, he would bypass them and continue running.
After running for 5 minutes, he finally reached the end, and was blocked by the valley in front. Brook turned and ran upwards, this time running for more than 10 minutes, and finally reached the upper left corner.
"The distance from the entrance cave to the lower left corner is 1200 yards, and the distance from top to bottom is 3000 yards. Let's try the coordinates. I'll go right and you go down." Brooke said.
"Okay." Bayin understood.
Brook cast a collective invisibility spell on Bayin. Bayin put on the teleportation ring on his left hand, still wearing the protective ring on his right hand, and began to teleport to the lower left corner.
Brooke went invisible and moved to the right. After 2 minutes, the two returned to the upper left corner to reunite.
The coordinates of the upper left corner are the easiest to confirm, such as (50, 50) or (100, 100). The coordinate values are the smallest and can be found quickly, but other positions require more trial and error.
"The coordinates of the lower left corner, the lower right corner, and the entrance cave we came in from have been determined." Bayin said.
"We also have the coordinates in the upper right corner. In addition, we have found the exit to the next floor. But we can't get in." Brook said.
"Lord Lun Wuzun said that there is a beast king in every map, and you have to kill the beast king before you can enter. He won't want us to kill all the beast kings in the entire forest, right?" Bayin said.
Brooke was lost in thought. They had just teleported through the King's Forest and spotted many beasts. Besides the Cerberus, the Rake King, and the Hook King, they also spotted the Snowman King and even a falcon flying in the sky.
If we really want to kill all the beast kings, it will be troublesome.
"Lun Wu Zun said that every map is guarded by a beast king. From what he said, it should be referring to a specific beast king. It must be a monster more powerful than the Rake King Cat, Cerberus and so on." Brook said.
"What is that? The Snowman King?"
Brook shook his head. The Snowman King only had 1300 HP, and was not necessarily more powerful than the Rake King.
Oh, right, falcons! Every demon beast we've seen so far has a corresponding beast king. Could the falcons in the sky also have an eagle king?
"Have you met the Falcon King?" Brook asked.
"I didn't pay attention, I only saw the falcon." Bayin asked.
"Let's go to the exit of the next floor first." Brook said.
The two used the teleportation ring to fly to the exit. There was a barrier blocking the entrance to the cave, and Bayin tried but couldn't get in.
"Let's split up and search nearby to see if there's an Eagle King."
The two of them searched separately, and after 2 minutes, Bayin's voice came from the team.
"Found it! Walk down and to the right from the cave entrance, about 150 yards away."
"Okay, come right away."
Brook came to Bayin's side and saw a group of Snowman Kings not far ahead. However, Bayin was staring at the top of the Snowman Kings, where there was a flying monster.
Condor!
It looks exactly like an ordinary falcon and cannot be distinguished unless you look carefully.
"We must get rid of the Snowman King first." Bayin said.
"Yeah. I'll go lure the monsters."
There was no particularly good terrain nearby, so they could only fight the Snowman King in the woods. Brook ran over and immediately attracted the attention of the group of Snowman Kings, who followed Brook over.
The Snowman Kings didn't move very fast, so Brook walked and waited, leading them to disperse. Finally, he poisoned them while walking back, bringing back a total of 5 Snowman Kings.
The beasts, three Dayong babies, and two giant babies had been waiting for a long time, and the two sides fought together. Brook and Bayin concentrated their firepower and killed them one by one.
Brook then ran out to continue luring monsters. After several rounds, he killed all the Snowman Kings.
Only the last condor remained. Brooke gave it a spiritual revelation.
Condor: HP 2000.
When Brook released his skills, the Condor also discovered Brook and flew towards him quickly.
The Condor quickly approached, swooping down and striking Brook like a bolt of lightning. Brook groaned as the Condor pecked him, losing 80 HP.
Brook took a step back and summoned the baby divine beast to his front, then he became invisible. The divine eagle lost its target and started fighting with the divine beast.
Bayin's five pets also surrounded it. When the Condor flew down to attack, it was also besieged by the pets. However, it was difficult for the pets to hit the Condor. It seemed that its agility was very high, just like the Rainbow Demon Leader encountered before, and ordinary physical attacks were difficult to hit.
Fortunately, the magic defense of the divine eagle is not too high, and the flames of the divine beast, Brook's fire talisman, and Bayin's lightning can all cause certain damage to it.
The condor's health was getting lower and lower, and it was about to be killed, but Brook discovered a problem.
"Bayin, stop. Baby, stop too." Brooke said.
"Hmm? Okay." Bayin stopped.
The babies also stopped attacking. Only Brook continued to release poison spells on the Condor.
The condor was attracted by Brook and wanted to attack him, but was surrounded by monsters. It had to retreat and circle around before flying towards Brook.
"Did you see that?" Brooke asked.
"What are you looking at?" Bayin was puzzled.
Brook stared at the Condor and said, "The Condor is flying in the sky, very high. It's surrounded by monsters and wants to attack me. Why doesn't it fly directly over the baby's head, but circles around?"
Bayin finally understood what Brooke meant.
In the past, when I encountered flying monsters like bats, wedge moths, or moon spiders, they couldn't fly over the other monsters' heads. I originally thought that this was because they couldn't fly high. But this condor, it clearly flies very high, so why couldn't it fly directly over my head?
Does it not, or can’t?
If it can't, then this condor is really stupid; if it can't...that would be very strange.
Brook really wanted to interview the condor, but unfortunately the condor couldn't speak.
