Lin Yue began to grow sensitive and suspicious of Li Hao's every move, the tension in her heart growing tighter. She found herself no longer the trusting and tender girl she once was, now a person consumed by doubt and pain, out of control. She refused to believe her relationship was crumbling, but Li Hao's indifference repeatedly disappointed her.

A few days later, Lin Yue overheard colleagues whispering about Li Hao, vaguely alluding to his relationships with other women. Her heart sank, and she went over to investigate. She overheard one colleague mention, "I heard Li Hao's been getting very close to a very beautiful woman lately. They're seeing each other so frequently—it's really enviable."

These words were like a knife, piercing Lin Yue's heart. She found it difficult to breathe, and her vision was blurry. She had never imagined that Li Hao, whom she loved so deeply, would betray her like this, and actually be intimate with someone else without her knowledge.

After returning to her seat, Lin Yue fought back tears and tried to calm herself. Anger and resentment filled her heart, and images of Li Hao with other women kept resurfacing in her mind. She felt as if she had been deceived, and the trust and tenderness she once had vanished without a trace.

Lin Yue decided to confront Li Hao, if only to get to the bottom of their relationship. She couldn't stand his cold shoulder any longer, and couldn't tolerate being his "substitute." Feeling her dignity trampled upon, she decided to demand answers herself.

That evening, she rushed to Li Hao's company and quietly waited for him at the building's entrance. As the night deepened, Lin Yue clenched her fists, her heart filled with mixed emotions: anger and reluctance. She kept reminding herself that this time, she had to be brave and seek justice for herself.

After a while, Li Hao walked out of the company building with a stern expression, seemingly unaware of Lin Yue standing in the corner. She took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and stepped forward to block his way.

"Li Hao, we need to talk." Her voice was low and firm, and she looked straight at him with a hint of suppressed anger.

Li Hao frowned slightly and gave her a cold look: "Lin Yue, I don't think there is anything to discuss between us."

Lin Yue was stung by his words. She gritted her teeth, suppressed the pain in her heart, and asked, "Then I heard that you have been meeting other women frequently recently. Is that true?"

Li Hao's expression changed slightly, and he sneered, "Lin Yue, are you questioning me? Do you think such a ridiculous rumor is worthy of your belief?"

Lin Yue's anger gradually accumulated, and her voice became louder. "Then why have you been so cold and distant to me recently? You don't even want to listen to my explanation, yet you can meet with other people so frequently! Do you still not care about me?"

Li Hao's eyes were cold, as if he had lost his former gentleness. He said coldly, "Lin Yue, feelings cannot be maintained by questioning and anger. Perhaps the problem between us is not as simple as you think."

Lin Yue's heart sank. Her anger was gradually weakened by Li Hao's indifference, replaced by an unbearable pain. She had never imagined that the distance between them would become so great. Their once close relationship had now become a burden to each other.

Ultimately, Lin Yue failed to gain any answers from Li Hao and left the company, filled with pain and resentment. She felt like she had been thrust into a bottomless abyss, suffocated by the icy air. She began to question the point of her persistence and even began to question whether she had been wrong from the beginning.

She confided all this to Gu Yao, trying to get comfort from her best friend. However, Gu Yao's answer made her even more miserable.

"Yueyue, perhaps Li Hao has wavered in this relationship." Gu Yao pretended to comfort him, with a hint of subtle provocation in her tone, "Sometimes, a man's change of heart is inevitable. If his love for you is no longer as strong as before, perhaps you should think more about yourself."

Lin Yue's heart grew bitter as she heard these words. She knew Gu Yao's words were not entirely unreasonable, but she still refused to let go. She even felt that being abandoned like this was an unbearable humiliation. Her eyes were filled with pain and hesitation, and she fell into endless self-torture.

In the days that followed, Lin Yue gradually became withdrawn and even lost her former focus and enthusiasm at work. She suffered from insomnia, tossing and turning throughout the night, consumed by pain and anxiety. She felt increasingly isolated, as if no one around her could understand her pain.

Gu Yao watched Lin Yue's increasingly depressed expression, sneering inwardly. She knew that Lin Yue's suffering was exactly what she wanted. She continued to secretly instigate, occasionally suggesting "letting go" in front of Lin Yue, even hinting that Li Hao's indifference was simply because he had lost interest in her.

"Yueyue, maybe you should really think about yourself." Gu Yao pretended to be gentle and advised, "Sometimes, letting go is also a kind of fulfillment."

Lin Yue's heart was stabbed again, and she began to doubt whether her persistence was really meaningful. She fell into endless self-doubt, feeling that she had lost everything in this relationship, and even her dignity had become humble.

One night, Lin Yue couldn't sleep until dawn, and her inner pain reached its limit. She decided to take a gamble and go to Li Hao again, telling him all her doubts and pain, and no longer hiding her feelings.

She told herself that no matter what the outcome, this would be her last attempt. She wanted to convey her feelings to Li Hao, hoping that he would reconsider their relationship.

The next afternoon, Lin Yue came to Li Hao's company with a nervous mood. When he got off work, she took the initiative to stop him. When Li Hao saw her, his expression was still cold, as if he didn't care about her presence at all.

"Li Hao, we really need to have a good talk." Lin Yue mustered up the courage, with a hint of persistence in his tone.

Li Hao glanced at her indifferently and said coldly, "Lin Yue, I don't think there is anything left for us to discuss."

Lin Yue felt a pang of pain in her heart, and she said in a trembling voice, "Li Hao, I just want to know if you still care about our relationship. Why did it become like this? Why don't you want to listen to my explanation?"

Li Hao's expression turned cold, with a hint of sarcasm in his eyes: "Lin Yue, love is not just your wishful thinking. Perhaps I am tired of your entanglement like this."

Lin Yue's heart suddenly turned cold, her last vestiges of perseverance completely crumbling in the face of Li Hao's indifference. She felt like she was being ruthlessly pushed away, as if she had become insignificant. She had once thought herself an important part of his life, but now he saw her as a burden.

 **Tears of collapse**

Lin Yue couldn't help but shed tears. Her voice was choked with pain. "Li Hao, why? I just want to know what happened between us. Why did you do this to me?"

Li Hao turned his head away coldly, not wanting to see her tears streaming down her face. He said calmly, "Lin Yue, I don't want to talk anymore. Let's go back."

After saying this, Li Hao left without looking back, leaving Lin Yue alone crying in the night, her heart broken.
