Saint Seiya Evil Skull
Chapter 73: Thoughts on the Underworld
Albelis certainly didn't know about Sigmund's tragic experience, and even if he knew, he wouldn't care. He was completely immersed in improving his strength and inventing new skills, and couldn't extricate himself.
During these three months, Albelisi barely left his house, diligently practicing every day, constantly experimenting and exploring various techniques and methods to improve his strength. He poured all his energy into his practice, even compressing his meal and sleep time to the extreme, practically forgetting to eat or sleep. This also caused Xiluda's dissatisfaction, and he simply let Albelisi fool him.
Now, Alubelisi has reached the peak of his own ability. The next step is to prepare for a breakthrough in the eighth sense of Alaya consciousness. Regarding Alaya consciousness, Alubelisi has searched through various books in the fairy palace but has not found any records about the eighth sense of Alaya consciousness. It is not known whether Alubelisi is unprecedented or the Aesir clan deliberately concealed the information about the eighth sense of Alaya consciousness.
According to the experiences of Aruvallisi in his two lives, as well as his understanding of Buddhist texts and original works, Alaya-vijnana is an important concept in Buddhism, also known as the eighth sense or storehouse consciousness. It is a potential level of consciousness and is considered to be the root and foundation of human consciousness. The concept of Alaya-vijnana first appeared in the Yogacara school of Buddhism, which believes that human consciousness is composed of eight levels: eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, mind consciousness, manas consciousness, and Alaya-vijnana. Among them, the first six levels are the consciousness we perceive in our daily lives, while manas consciousness is a kind of self-consciousness that connects our perceptions and experiences with the self. Alaya-vijnana is a deeper level of consciousness that contains all our memories, experiences, habits, and subconscious information.
The Alaya consciousness is considered to be a being without beginning or end, playing a crucial role in our lives. It not only influences our thoughts, emotions, and actions, but also determines our karma and reincarnation. According to Buddhist teachings, our actions and thoughts leave imprints in the Alaya consciousness, which influence our future lives and destiny. Therefore, by cultivating and purifying the Alaya consciousness, we can eliminate karma and achieve liberation and nirvana.
Of course, this is just the Buddhist version of the understanding of Alaya-vijnana. Based on Aluvelixi's current understanding, Alaya-vijnana may mean an essential improvement, which involves the further sublimation of body, mind, and spirit. As for how to enter the state of Alaya-vijnana, referring to the plot in the original work, the fastest way is undoubtedly through fierce life-and-death battles, to stimulate potential and achieve a breakthrough in the face of death. If you can get the blessing of the gods, it will be easier. However, Aluvelixi does not count on this, after all, their God King Odin is still resting somewhere!
Relying on natural cultivation to achieve a breakthrough to the Alaya Consciousness is certainly not impossible, but judging by the number of Eight Senses masters in the original work, the probability of such a breakthrough is extremely low, even negligible. Furthermore, even if a breakthrough were possible, the time required is uncertain; it might require years of hard work or an elusive coincidence.
Therefore, Alberich knew that if he wanted to enter the realm of Alaya-vijnana, he would have to invest even more effort and time. Rather than pinning his hopes on the remote and unpredictable, he should strive for victory and seize every possible opportunity. After all, time was running out before the storyline began, and if the original story unfolded as it did, his life would be short. Although the Asgard's overall strength had greatly increased compared to the original story, Athena's side had the support of the main gods and should not be underestimated.
To sum up, if you want to achieve a breakthrough, going through the test of life and death becomes the only option and the final choice.
How to pull off this life-or-death test presented another problem. In a one-on-one fight, Alberich's only real threat was Dohko, his ancestor Alberich 14th generation's old rival. Dohko was currently using a technique called "faked death" to monitor the tower holding the Hades Saint, Demon Star, from Lushan's Five Elders Peak. Challenging Dohko at this point would not only affect the plot, but also potentially release the 108 sealed Hades Saints prematurely. The Underworld wasn't far from Northern Europe, presenting another obstacle.
But if I don't look for Dohko, who should I look for? The other Gold Saints, with the exception of Mu, are all in the Sanctuary. Mu and Kanon are probably about the same strength. Given Kanon's strength, it shouldn't be a problem for me at my current level. The Sanctuary currently has ten Saints in charge, which is more than enough, but if I rashly go there, I'm afraid I'll get beaten up! If I don't reach a breakthrough, I'll be beaten to a pulp. That would be a real embarrassment.
In the sea area, it is obvious that people are not united. Last time Aluberisi went to cause trouble for Garlon, the chief of the sea generals, no one came to help. It would be in vain to go this time.
What about the Asgardians? Their individual strength wasn't enough, but with a few more, they could still pull it off. After all, Alberich had committed a crime before. If they agreed to fight everyone, they believed those God Warriors who had a grudge against them would not miss this opportunity for revenge. At the very least, Hagen, Jagufrid, and Sidmund would surely be happy to do so. On the other hand, though, even if it meant a lesson, they were all on the same side, so they would undoubtedly be wary of taking action, making a life-or-death situation unlikely. This created a vicious cycle.
Does it mean that if I suddenly stop while fighting and take the blow head-on, I'm courting death?
In the original novel, Virgo Shaka is struck by the combined power of Athena's Exclamation, launched by Kanon, Shura, and Camus, leading him to the Underworld and into the Alaya-vijnana. Similarly, the Five Little Warriors, while in the Underworld, briefly enter the Alaya-vijnana during battle after being reminded by Dohko and empowered by Athena's Cosmo. Beyond the life-or-death struggle, the two characters share another key location: the Underworld.
So, was he really going to enter the underworld? It wasn't clear if the Hades warriors had appeared yet, but Hypnos, the god of sleep, and Thanatos, the god of death, should have awakened. At his current level, he hadn't even reached the eighth sense, the Alaya consciousness. If he went to the underworld and encountered either Hypnos or Thanatos, wouldn't that be courting death?
Furthermore, the key point was that the Asgard and the Underworld didn't seem to have any grudges against each other. If I were to rush into causing hatred for the Asgard, wouldn't that be a bad idea?
This problem was truly vexing, a seemingly unsolvable dilemma. Ultimately, Alberich decided to gather all the God Warriors for a meeting. The theme was clear: how to improve the God Warriors' combat effectiveness. Such a meeting held no appeal for Queen Hilda, and she naturally declined to participate. The other God Warriors, on the other hand, showed no interest either; after all, they were busy with their own affairs.
However, Alberich, as Vice Chairman, wielded absolute power and authority. He issued a mandatory order: All God Warriors must attend the meeting. This left everyone feeling helpless. Despite their reluctance, the God Warriors dropped their tasks and rushed to the meeting room at the Warrior Council headquarters. Hagen was forging iron, Fafnir was immersed in his research, and even Sigmund, who was most reluctant to set foot in Asgard, was forced to attend. What would be the outcome of this meeting?
After the God Warriors arrived, they scanned their surroundings and began looking for their seats. Because the conference room was designed with circular sofas, everyone chose a seat of their own accord. Those with good relationships sat together and exchanged a few words, while others sat alone, quietly contemplating the upcoming meeting agenda while awaiting the arrival of the other God Warriors.
