Saint Seiya Evil Skull

Chapter 24 Shaolin Journey

Shaolin Temple, located in Songshan Mountain, Henan Province, China, was first built in the 495th year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty ( AD). It was a temple built by Emperor Xiaowen to accommodate the Indian monk Batuo to preach. Because it is located in the dense jungle of Shaoshi Mountain in the hinterland of Songshan Mountain, it was named "Shaolin Temple".

Shaolin Temple is not only the birthplace of Zen Buddhism, but also the origin of Chinese Kung Fu. Known as the "ancestral home of Zen Buddhism and the sacred place of Kung Fu," it is hailed as "the world's most famous temple." Its fame stems from the meticulous research and continuous development of Shaolin Kung Fu by successive generations of Shaolin monks, leading to the saying, "Shaolin Kung Fu originates from all over the world, and Shaolin Kung Fu is the best in the world."

Arubelisi was extremely eager to increase his strength and had no intention of appreciating the beautiful scenery of Songshan, so after reaching the foot of the mountain, he went straight up the mountain. As it was still early when he arrived at Shaolin Temple, in order to avoid causing unnecessary trouble, Arubelisi did not force his way in, but kept wandering around the Shaolin Temple, inquiring about the specific location of the Sutra Library. Perhaps because Shaolin was used to being arrogant, each courtyard had a plaque with names such as Bodhidharma Courtyard, Arhat Hall, Prajna Hall, and... Sutra Library.

This also made Arubelisi speechless. Before he came, he had thought that if he really couldn't find it, he would knock out the two little monks and ask about the situation. Now it is easier. The goal is clear. He just needs to wait for the dark and windy night for the hero to draw his sword.

Now that there was progress, Arubelisi's anxious mood calmed down a lot. While it was still early, the somewhat hungry Arubelisi left Shaoshi Mountain where Shaolin was located, found an unnamed hilltop, shot a pheasant, made an ancient version of beggar's chicken, and ate while waiting, admiring the afterglow of the sunset.

At midnight, a figure darted through the Shaolin Temple like lightning. Martial arts had already fallen into disrepair in this world. In this supernatural world, few people expected to discover Arubelisi's state of harmony between man and nature. At least, Shaolin didn't exist. Arubelisi easily reached the outer reaches of the Sutra Library and gazed at the building before him: a seven-story tower. Only a formidable martial arts sect like Shaolin could afford to build such a grand and majestic Sutra Library, housing a variety of Buddhist scriptures and martial arts manuals.

Since there were seven floors, the lower floors were likely to contain Buddhist scriptures and artifacts. It didn't matter whether they were there or not. Even if the Lankavatara Sutra contained the Nine Yang Divine Art, it held no appeal to Alubelisi at the moment. Therefore, Alubelisi decided to begin his search from the seventh floor. Furthermore, upon arriving, Alubelisi had discovered that the Sutra Library was heavily guarded. With the exception of the second, third, and fourth floors, which were unguarded, the remaining four floors were all manned, further confirming his suspicions.

Albelisi knew that alerting the enemy would not only complicate matters but also potentially lead to the failure of his plan. Therefore, he decided to adopt a cautious approach. He harnessed his natural state of unity, allowing his aura to blend seamlessly with his surroundings, becoming a part of nature. This allowed him to quietly approach the window without alerting anyone. When he reached the seventh floor, he carefully surveyed his surroundings, ensuring no one else had noticed his presence. Then, using his Heart-Destroying Palm, he gently shook the window latch. With a subtle click, the window swung open. Albelisi swiftly flew in, his movements light and silent.

Upon entering the room, he dodged a fierce palm strike. An old monk had been lying in wait near the window, poised to strike the intruder. However, Alubelisi's reaction was incredibly quick. With astonishing speed, he reached behind the old monk and delivered a palm strike. With sub-light-speed force, the strike instantly struck the old monk's neck. Unprepared, the monk was knocked unconscious. Only then did Alubelisi see that the old monk was approximately seventy years old. Perhaps overconfident, he chose to ambush the intruder himself rather than call for help. Unfortunately, the old monk's strength was comparable to Yu Zhenzi's, but Alubelisi had greatly improved after years of training, making him no match. Alubelisi felt a surge of regret towards the nameless old monk. After all, they had no grudges, yet now he had no choice but to knock him unconscious. Nevertheless, he understood that in this situation, only decisive action would achieve his goal.

Then, Alubelisi began searching the seventh floor. It was filled with precious tomes, even some precious manuscripts of Bodhidharma, a testament to the longevity of Shaolin Temple's heritage. Of course, these were of little use to Alubelisi. After confirming there were no hidden layers, he slowly returned them to their original locations. After all, they were antiques, and after so many years, who knew if he'd damaged them by applying too much force? It was best to handle them with care. Alubelisi turned and headed towards another bookshelf. Sure enough, he discovered many Shaolin martial arts, such as One Finger Zen, Great Compassion Thousand-Leaf Hand, Vajra Indestructible Divine Art, Bodhi Heart Method, Golden Bell Cover, and Thirteen Taibao Horizontal Training. He didn't find the Shaolin treasures, the Yi Jin Jing and Xi Sui Jing, which were the foundation of Shaolin. He wondered if these two manuals were hidden somewhere or passed down orally. Of course, these two manuals weren't Alubelisi's target, so he didn't bother searching for them.

Overall, Alubelisi surpassed his goals, acquiring the three body-building manuals: Vajra Indestructible Divine Art, Golden Bell Cover, and Thirteen Taibao Horizontal Training. Upon receiving the manuals, Alubelisi immediately began leafing through them. Truly, the greater his hopes, the greater his disappointment. While Vajra Indestructible Divine Art and Golden Bell Cover were body-building techniques, they were both internal cultivation techniques. In other words, they were internal cultivation techniques, and the strength of his defense depended on his level of cultivation. The higher his level, the more formidable his defense. And the Thirteen Taibao Horizontal Training required a virgin body to be cultivated, and one couldn't break their virginity. Breaking their virginity meant breaking their virginity. This was a rip-off, leaving a loophole open. If he were to be seduced by some evil spirit and couldn't seize control, wouldn't that be a form of self-destruction? What a rip-off!

I’m really unwilling!

Unwilling to give up, Arubelixi went to the sixth and fifth floors of the Shaolin Temple's Sutra Library. He knew he couldn't return empty-handed, so he knocked out the guards on each floor without hesitation, and then began to frantically search for martial arts secrets suitable for his own practice.

On the sixth floor, Albelisi carefully searched every book, but he still couldn't find the martial arts manual that could meet his needs. He was very disappointed, but he didn't give up hope and continued to search on the fifth floor.

Finally, his hard work paid off. In an inconspicuous corner of the fifth floor, Albelisi found a secret manual called "Iron Shirt". The reason why this secret manual was placed there was simply because it was not one of the 72 Shaolin Kung Fu skills, but belonged to the category of external skills, mainly practicing "skin".

Through special training methods, a person's skin can be made rough and thick, making it difficult to be damaged by sharp blades. However, the iron vest also has some inaccessible weak spots, which make these parts relatively vulnerable. Even so, if the iron vest is cultivated to the highest level, it can still achieve the miraculous effect of invulnerability.

Disciples of all major sects emphasize inner cultivation, and Shaolin is even more so. If I were to abandon my own unique body-building techniques and learn something as common as yours, what would I have gained from studying under Shaolin? Therefore, the Iron Shirt was not valued by Shaolin. It was only because it was a complete copy, and it would be a shame to lose it, that it was stored in a corner of the fifth floor, gathering dust. Now that it has finally been discovered by Albelisi, it will surely shine as it deserves!

In fact, Shaolin is also quite wronged. If you had told us earlier that you wanted the Iron Shirt, as long as Albelisi showed his skills in front of Shaolin, even if Shaolin did not give it to you openly, they would have secretly given you the secret book under a false name. After all, this is not a Shaolin secret book, and it will not leak the Shaolin inheritance. It's up to whoever loves it... whoever loves it.

Arubelisi really wanted to laugh out loud, but when he saw that the surrounding environment was not suitable, he quickly put the secret book in his arms and left in a hurry. The people who were knocked unconscious woke up one after another and hurried to check whether there were any missing precious books. Only the two monks on the fifth floor found that one of the books on the body refining secret method, the Iron Shirt, was missing. After repeated checks, no other secret books were found to be missing. The two monks discussed and thought that it was embarrassing that they were knocked unconscious without even seeing each other. What's more, what was missing was such a simple book as the Iron Shirt. Yes, the Shaolin guards did not take the theft of the Iron Shirt seriously at all. The two monks decided not to report it to their superiors. For some reason, the two monks on the fifth floor pretended nothing happened after waking up.

Therefore, the case of the Shaolin secret manual being stolen came to nothing...
