The Little Lucky Girl.

Chapter 244: Seeking Disciples

Inside the Weimin Medical Clinic in Yun'an County, Dr. Yue frowned as he stared at the lunch before him. He picked up a piece of food with chopsticks and put it into his mouth. Then he sighed, "Oh! This food tastes like chewing wax. It's really hard to swallow!"

When Old Man Meng heard this, he also muttered, "Yeah! It's been a long time since I've eaten the food cooked by my good disciple. That taste is so delicious!"

Doctor Yue's eyes lit up, he put down his bowl and chopsticks, and said to Old Man Meng, "Old Man Meng, let's go to the capital to find our good disciple! I'm almost starving here."

Without hesitation, Old Man Meng responded immediately, "Sure! We'll be leaving soon! I miss your good disciple's craftsmanship, too."

"Okay!" Doctor Yue stood up readily, as if he couldn't wait any longer.

At this time, Doctor Chen asked worriedly, "Brother, if you leave, who will see patients in the clinic?"

Doctor Yue waved his hand nonchalantly and said, "Don't you have my senior brother with you? You're not incapable of treating illnesses. Besides, how about I give you some monthly silver and invite you to come and play? Don't worry about it so much."

After hearing this, Doctor Chen snorted in dissatisfaction. Although he felt a little helpless, he knew that he could not win against these two people.

The two old men were truly men of action. They put down their dishes and chopsticks and went to pack a simple bag. When everything was ready, they hired a carriage. The driver whipped the horse whip and the carriage swayed towards the capital. The carriage was on the official road, and the road was bumpy, but the two old men were very excited. Doctor Yue opened the curtains, looked at the scenery that kept receding outside the window, and said, "I don't know how my good disciple is doing in the capital, and whether he is taking good care of himself." Old Man Meng echoed, "Don't worry, my good disciple is a foodie and will not treat himself badly!"

Along the way, they sometimes reminisced about their beloved disciple's anecdotes, and sometimes commented on the scenic scenery along the way. When hungry, they ate rations and water; when tired, they rested in the carriage. As the sky darkened, the carriage passed a small town, its lights illuminating a warm atmosphere. The driver asked if they wanted to stay overnight. The two old men exchanged a glance and said in unison, "Keep going, and see your disciple soon." And so, the carriage sped off into the night.

After several days of driving, the carriage finally arrived in the capital. The two old men asked about the location of the Shangshu Mansion and then rode the carriage towards it!

When they arrived at the gate of the Shangshu Mansion, the two old men got off the carriage and paid the driver!

"Young man, please tell someone that your young lady's master, Doctor Yue, is here!" The servant at the door quickly ran in to report!

A quarter of an hour later, Su Qing hurried out of the Shangshu Mansion. She was wearing an elegant long dress, her hair slightly disheveled, but she couldn't hide the joy and excitement in her eyes. "Master, you two elders are here!" Her voice was filled with the joy of a long-awaited reunion.

Doctor Yue feigned anger, frowning as he said, "Well, you unfilial disciple, you came to the capital by yourself and didn't even bring us two old guys with you!"

Su Qing playfully stuck out her tongue, with a hint of apology on her face, and explained, "Hey, Master, I was just sending my mother over here, and things were a bit urgent! I didn't have time to tell you! Please don't be angry with me."

Doctor Yue rolled his eyes helplessly, but there was no blame in his eyes, but more of a sense of relief after seeing his disciple.

"Please come in, masters!" Su Qing turned sideways and made a respectful gesture of invitation.

"Hmm!" the two old men strode into the Shangshu Mansion. The mansion had deep courtyards, numerous pavilions, and winding paths. Along the way, they curiously surveyed the surrounding scenery. The carved beams and painted buildings, the exotic flowers and plants, all made them nod in admiration.

Arriving at a room in the inner courtyard, he said, "Disciple, go and make some food for me. Your Master Meng and I have been eating dry biscuits on the road these days! Drink some water if you are thirsty. Your mouth feels very bland!" Doctor Yue sat down on a chair and said while rubbing his stomach.

"Okay, Master. I'll arrange for you to wash up and rest for a bit! I'll go cook for you two elders!" Su Qing said, and called the maid over. She prepared hot water and clean clothes for the two masters to wash up. She then turned and walked towards the kitchen, thinking about what dishes to make to comfort the masters for their hard work.

Su Qing came to the kitchen, looked at the full of ingredients, and carefully selected fresh vegetables, pork with fat and lean meat, and some nourishing herbs. She first washed the rice and put it into the pot to cook porridge, and then she skillfully cut the vegetables. The kitchen knife in her hand rose and fell rhythmically on the chopping board, and soon, the shredded vegetables were neatly arranged on the plate. She lit the fire and poured in the oil. When the oil temperature rose, she added the green onion, ginger and garlic to stir-fry, and then poured the chopped pork into the pot and stir-fried. The pork sizzled in the pot, gradually turned golden, and the aroma filled the air. Then, she poured the vegetables into the pot, stir-fried them evenly with the pork, and added appropriate seasonings. On the other side, the porridge was almost cooked. She opened the lid of the pot, added the herbs, and stirred them evenly to make the porridge taste richer.

At this time, Doctor Yue and Old Man Meng had finished washing up and were sitting in the dining room. They smelled the fragrance wafting from the kitchen and couldn't help but smile at each other, their faces full of anticipation.

In less than half an hour, Su Qing brought the meticulously prepared meal to the dining room. She strode gracefully into the dining room, her hands steady, the tray in her hands. Her demeanor was both elegant and playful, a touch of girlish charm. Several dishes were neatly arranged on the tray, steaming hot. Even before she even approached, the alluring aroma filled the air.

Su Qing first placed a bowl of steaming medicinal porridge on the table and said, "Master, this is a health-preserving porridge that I specially made for you two. I added some nourishing medicinal herbs to it. It's just right to replenish your bodies after such a tiring journey." The porridge had a warm color, and the aroma of rice and medicine was a perfect blend, exuding a mouth-watering aroma.

Then, she brought out a plate of delicious braised pork with bright red skin and fat swaying slightly in the plate. "This is your favorite braised pork, Master!" Doctor Yue looked at the plate of braised pork, his eyes lit up and he nodded continuously.

There was also a plate of stir-fried seasonal vegetables. The emerald greens were so tender and juicy, as if still covered with morning dew. "This vegetable was picked by my disciple from the garden in the mansion. It's very fresh and delicious."

Su Qing arranged the food one by one, served the two masters with rice, and handed them chopsticks, "Master, try it quickly."

Doctor Yue couldn't wait to pick up a piece of braised pork and put it in his mouth. With a light bite, the aroma of the meat instantly exploded in his mouth. The mellow taste and soft texture made him close his eyes, his face full of intoxication. "Well, you are indeed a good disciple. Your cooking skills are even better than before!"

Old Man Meng also hurriedly scooped a spoonful of the medicinal porridge and put it into his mouth to savor it carefully. "This porridge is smooth and refreshing, the aroma of the medicine is refreshing but does not overpower the aroma of the rice. It's wonderful."

Su Qing watched the two masters eating happily with a happy smile on his face, "As long as the masters like it, it's fine." At this time, the dining hall was filled with the aroma of food and the laughter between masters and apprentices, a warm and peaceful scene.
