The Leisurely Life of a Peasant Woman in the Tang Dynasty
Chapter 11 Cooperation with Boss Sun
The first rays of morning sunlight filtered through the window lattice, falling on Tang Youyou's slightly tired face. She stood up, washed up briefly, and began to prepare breakfast for her family. In the yard, the sound of chickens crowing and dogs barking filled the air, a vibrant scene that seemed to be playing the prelude to a new chapter that was about to begin.
After breakfast, Tang Youyou called her three children over and told them about her idea of opening a processing plant and collaborating with Boss Sun. "Mom, are you going to open a workshop?" Tang Jin asked curiously, his round eyes sparkling with excitement. Tang Wan was more measured. She asked, "Mom, how can we help you?" Tang Youyou looked at her sensible children, her heart filled with warmth. "Wan'er, Jin'er, Xiaoya, Mom made this decision so that our family can live a better life. Opening a workshop requires manpower and funds. Mom has decided to cooperate with Boss Sun."
When the children heard that their mother had a detailed plan, they all expressed their support. Tang Youyou looked at her sensible children, her heart filled with hope. She touched Tang Wan's head and said softly, "Wan'er, you have always been sensible. During this time, you have to help your mother take care of your younger brothers and sisters."
Afterwards, Tang Youyou took Tang Wan and Tang Jin to Boss Sun's shop. Boss Sun had been waiting for a long time. Seeing Tang Youyou, her mother, and her two children, he quickly stood up to greet them. "Madam Tang, you're here. Please take a seat," Boss Sun said warmly, and told the waiter to serve tea. After the pleasantries, Tang Youyou stated her purpose straight away. "Boss Sun, I'm here today to discuss the possibility of cooperating with you to open a processing plant."
Upon hearing this, Boss Sun smiled delightedly. "Madam Tang, that's exactly what I was thinking! I've seen your craftsmanship before, and if I could work with you, I'd definitely be able to expand our business!"
Over the next few days, Tang Youyou and Boss Sun discussed the details of their collaboration. Tang Youyou would be responsible for providing the formula and production management, while Boss Sun would provide funding and technical support. Both parties would share the risks and profits. After some bargaining, they finally reached a consensus and signed the agreement.
"It's a pleasure to work with you!" Boss Sun said with a smile, raising his teacup.
"Happy cooperation!" Tang Youyou also raised his teacup and clinked glasses with Boss Sun.
Coming out of Boss Sun's shop, Tang Youyou took a deep breath. A cool breeze blew over her, gradually calming her slightly uneasy heart. She knew that this would be a brand new starting point in her life. The future was full of challenges, but also full of hope.
"Mom, when do we start working?" Tang Jin asked impatiently, with excitement flashing in his eyes.
"No hurry, Jin'er, let's..." Tang Youyou was interrupted by a crisp knock on the door before she could finish her words. "Mom, when do we start working?" Tang Jin asked impatiently, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
When I opened the door, I saw Aunt Wang standing there with a smile on her face, holding a basket of fresh vegetables. "Youyou, I heard you're opening a workshop? Congratulations!"
Tang Youyou quickly welcomed Aunt Wang in and explained, "It hasn't started yet. I just reached an agreement with Boss Sun, so we still need some time to prepare."
Aunt Wang walked into the yard and saw Tang Wan and Tang Jin at a glance. She smiled and asked, "Wan'er, Jin'er, do you want to help me too?"
"Yes, Aunt Wang, I want to learn how to make snacks from my sister!" Tang Jin rushed to answer, and even puffed out his chest.
Aunt Wang heard this and said happily, "Good boy, you are so sensible! Your mother is so lucky to have such filial children like you."
Tang Youyou smiled and shook her head, then said to Aunt Wang, "Aunt Wang, please stop praising them. These kids are just sweet-talkers. You still need to teach them more."
Aunt Wang waved her hand and said, "Youyou, what you said is true. We are neighbors. Don't we help each other when there is something wrong? If you trust me, let me help with the cleaning. I'm just sitting around doing nothing anyway."
Before Tang Youyou had time to refuse, a few more greetings came from outside the door. It turned out that several aunts in the village had also heard the news that Tang Youyou was going to open a workshop, and came over to see if they could help.
Seeing everyone's enthusiasm, Tang Youyou felt a warm current in her heart. She knew that in this strange era, she was no longer alone. She had a family who loved her and warm-hearted neighbors. They were like flames, warming her life.
The next few days were bustling with activity at the Tang residence. Tang Wan and Tang Jin began learning processing techniques from Tang Youyou, while Tang Xiaoya, like a diligent little bee, swept the factory spotlessly clean. Aunt Wang and several other aunts also enthusiastically assisted, moving tools and organizing materials. Everything proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner.
In the evening, Tang Youyou stood at the gate of the newly built factory, watching the afterglow of the setting sun cast on the busy crowd, and an unprecedented sense of satisfaction arose spontaneously. She knew that this was just the beginning and there was still a long way to go in the future, but she believed that as long as they worked together, they would be able to overcome all difficulties and create a better life for themselves.
"Mom, look, are the snacks I made good looking?" Tang Jin ran excitedly to Tang Youyou, holding a plate of fragrant snacks in his hands...
"Well, it's really good! Jin'er is really a good helper to mother." Tang Youyou took the snack with a smile, took a light bite, and her mouth was full of sweet taste, "Well, it's delicious! It's even better than what mother made!"
After hearing this, Tang Jin's face flushed red and he scratched his head embarrassedly, "Mom, you're making fun of me again."
Tang Youyou smiled and shook her head, her eyes full of love, "Mother is not making fun of you, it's really delicious." She turned to look at Tang Wan who was busy at the side, "Wan'er, come and try it too, and see if your brother's cooking skills have improved?"
Tang Wan put down her work, picked up a piece of dessert, put it in her mouth, tasted it carefully, and nodded, "Mm, it's delicious! Brother, you are really getting better and better!"
Tang Jin was even happier to receive his sister's praise. He puffed out his chest and said confidently, "I will work harder in the future to make more delicious snacks!"
Seeing the children's energetic appearance, Tang Youyou was filled with joy. With everyone's joint efforts, the processing plant was finally successfully built and put into production.
On the first day of work, Tang Youyou woke up early and prepared the first batch of ingredients to be processed. Tang Wan and Tang Jin also arrived at the factory early to help Tang Youyou with cleaning, sorting, and processing. Aunt Wang and several other aunts also came, helping to move materials and package products. Everyone was very motivated.
Boss Sun sent someone to deliver the first batch of processed products early in the morning. Looking at the full truck of goods, Tang Youyou and Boss Sun both smiled with satisfaction.
"Youyou, I believe our cooperation will get better and better!" Boss Sun shook Tang Youyou's hand and said excitedly.
"I believe it too!" Tang Youyou nodded firmly.
After the first batch of processed products were put on the market, they were quickly loved by consumers, and orders came in like snowflakes. Tang Youyou had to hire more villagers to help, and the scale of the factory became larger and larger.
"Mom, we received a lot of orders today!" Tang Jin ran to Tang Youyou excitedly with a stack of orders in his hand, "A lot of people like the snacks we make!"
"Yes, mother, our products are in short supply right now!" Tang Wan also said with a smile, "Many businessmen have come from other places, wanting to cooperate with us!"
Looking at the busy factory and the smiling faces of the children, Tang Youyou felt a sense of accomplishment...
Watching the children running around excitedly, Tang Youyou couldn't help but raise the corners of her mouth slightly. Who would have thought that she, a "salted fish" from the modern era, could now carve out a niche for herself in this ancient world?
"Mom, look!" Tang Wan said excitedly, pointing at the carriage approaching in the distance. "Boss Sun has sent someone to deliver the goods again!"
Tang Youyou looked in the direction Tang Wan pointed, and sure enough, she saw several carriages loaded with goods slowly approaching. She smiled and shook her head, it seemed like she would be busy again this time.
"Youyou, congratulations!" Boss Sun jumped off the carriage and walked up to Tang Youyou with a flushed face. "Once the goods arrive this time, they will be sold out within three days! Our processing plant is now famous far and wide!"
"Boss Sun, you're joking. This is the result of everyone's joint efforts." Tang Youyou smiled modestly.
"Mom, what Boss Sun said is true!" Tang Jin ran to Tang Youyou's side, looking up at his little face and said, "I went to the city to deliver goods today, and many people praised our dim sum for being delicious!"
Tang Youyou smiled and touched Tang Jin's head, her heart filled with relief. She knew that all this was inseparable from the help of the children and the support of Boss Sun.
"Youyou, I have an idea..." Boss Sun suddenly lowered his voice and said mysteriously.
"What idea?" Tang Youyou asked curiously.
Boss Sun leaned close to Tang Youyou's ear and whispered his plan...
As night fell, Tang Youyou and his family sat around the table, eating a delicious dinner.
"Mom, what do you think of the plan that Boss Sun talked about today?" Tang Wan put down her bowl and chopsticks and asked curiously.
Tang Youyou smiled slightly, put down the chopsticks in his hand, and said: "I think..."
Before she could finish her words, there was a sudden knock on the door, followed by Aunt Wang's anxious voice: "Youyou, it's bad! It's raining heavily..."
