If you want to be a good person, find Huadi
Chapter 203 Undercover Plan 2
"Then please call Wu Xiong over for me." Officer Huang looked at the dean expressionlessly, his tone calm but with a hint of undeniable authority. The dean nodded slightly, indicating understanding, and then gestured to his secretary to find Wu Xiong.
Wu Xiong and Hua Di were sitting in the dining room, enjoying lunch. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant as they ate and chatted. Suddenly, the dean's secretary hurried in, her gaze sweeping across the restaurant before landing on Wu Xiong. She quickly walked over to Wu Xiong and whispered to him that Commander Huang had a request.
Hua Di was incredibly clever. Seeing this scene, he immediately guessed the general situation. He knew Wu Xiong's family situation well—his only relative was his frail, elderly grandmother, who was in extremely poor health and likely had a short life. If Wu Xiong were sent undercover, the organization wouldn't even have to pay him any compensation if something happened to him. Furthermore, Wu Xiong's tall, strong build, with a simple, honest demeanor, certainly gave him the air of a simple-minded, impulsive gangster. Hua Di frowned at the thought.
Upon hearing the news, Wu Xiong stood up without hesitation and prepared to go to the dean's office. However, at this moment, a hand firmly grasped his arm. It turned out to be Hua Di who reached out to stop him.
"Wu Xiong, finish your meal first. I'll go with you after that." Hua Di said seriously. Wu Xiong looked at Hua Di and nodded silently without saying anything. Then he sat down again and continued to eat.
He Shangsheng, who was standing by, saw this and asked with some concern, "The dean asked Wu Xiong to go over now. Would it be appropriate for you not to let him go?"
Upon hearing this, Hua Di sneered and replied disdainfully: "Asheng, you don't know what's going on, so just eat your meal obediently." After that, he no longer paid attention to He Shangsheng and started eating by himself.
Seeing this, He Shangsheng knew that Huadi knew what was going on, so he stopped asking questions and silently lowered his head to continue eating.
Wu Xiong gobbled his food voraciously, his cheeks puffed out like a hamster's, chewing and swallowing with lightning speed. In a matter of moments, he had devoured the food in front of him like a whirlwind. Satisfied, he put down his chopsticks and turned to Huadi, saying, "Brother Hua, I'm finally full!"
Seeing this, Hua Di smiled slightly and slowly put down his bowl and chopsticks. Although he arrived a little later than Wu Xiong, Wu Xiong's astonishing appetite meant that they both finished their meals almost at the same time. "When we get over there, remember to be quiet and follow my instructions. Understand?" Hua Di instructed Wu Xiong sternly.
Wu Xiong scratched his head, showing a naive smile, and nodded hurriedly in response: "I know, Brother Hua! You are much smarter than me. I will definitely follow your arrangements." After saying that, he did not forget to give Hua Di a thumbs up.
Huadi led Wu Xiong straight to the principal's office. When they reached the door, Huadi raised his hand and knocked lightly. A voice called out, "Come in." Hearing the permission to enter, Huadi opened the door without hesitation and strode into the room with Wu Xiong.
At this moment, Huang, who was busy at his desk, suddenly looked up and saw that it was Hua Di. A flash of surprise flashed across his face. He frowned and asked in a stern tone, "What are you doing here?" It was obvious that Huang was quite surprised and did not welcome Hua Di's sudden visit.
Yet, facing Officer Huang's questioning, Huadi remained calm and composed. His lips curled slightly as he replied calmly, "I know you might not like me, but there are some things I feel I need to clarify with you face to face." Officer Huang suppressed his anger and uttered, "Alright. Speak frankly."
After getting the consent, Hua Di turned slightly sideways, turned his head to look at Wu Xiong behind him, and whispered: "You wait outside for a moment." Wu Xiong said "Okay" obediently without saying a word, then turned and left the room, closing the door gently.
Hua Di watched Wu Xiong's figure disappear outside the door, then he slowly turned around and looked straight at the dean and Chief Huang. His eyes were sharp and firm, as if he could see through their innermost thoughts.
"What exactly did you want Wu Xiong to do? Don't you think I know?" Hua Di's voice was deep but powerful, impossible to ignore. He then pointed at Officer Huang and said bluntly, "Huang Zhicheng, I'm talking to you! Don't think I don't know what you're up to. Don't use your wits on these young students!"
Huadi took a deep breath and continued, "Wu Xiong is a very simple-minded person. He has an extremely strong sense of honor for being a policeman. More importantly, his parents are both outstanding police officers who died in the line of duty. For someone with such a background, you can actually have such crooked thoughts. Are you worthy of the responsibility and honor represented by this police uniform?" At this point, Huadi became more and more agitated.
After a brief pause, Hua Di calmed down a bit, but his tone remained serious. "I'm telling you this today. I'll let Wu Xiong in later, and you'd better find a reasonable excuse to send him away. Also, if you dare to think of sending Wu Xiong undercover again in the future, you can rest assured. The dean can testify here that I am absolutely capable of making Huang Zhicheng have no place in Hong Kong from now on! If you don't believe me, you can try it yourself."
As soon as he finished speaking, Huadi turned abruptly and strode to the door. Without hesitation, he reached out to grasp the doorknob and twisted it hard. With a muffled "bang," the door was thrown open. However, he did not immediately call Wu Xiong in. Instead, he stood quietly at the doorway, giving Huang Zhicheng inside some time to calm down and rack his brains to come up with an excuse to deceive Wu Xiong.
After a long while, Huadi looked at Wu Xiong with a serious expression and said slowly: "Axiong, go in by yourself. I won't accompany you." After that, he patted Wu Xiong's shoulder gently, and then stood there silently.
In reality, Wah-Di chose not to go in with Wu Xiong because he knew full well what awaited him. He couldn't bear to see such a kind and innocent Wu Xiong, exposed to certain truths, become deeply disappointed with the Hong Kong police, whom he had always trusted. If it weren't for Wah-Di's intervention, Wu Xiong, with his honest and simple nature, would have undoubtedly thrown himself into the undercover role without hesitation.
But is undercover work truly a good job? The answer is probably no. Only those who have experienced it firsthand can truly appreciate the endless sin and suffering it holds. For an undercover agent to excel, they must constantly go against their conscience and commit a series of sins. Day after day, year after year, this chronic suppression of true emotions gradually warps their inner world, turning them into something perverse.
Even more cruelly, in the final moments, these undercover agents are often forced to betray their former allies, even having to cruelly murder their brothers. For most, such a decision is undoubtedly extremely cruel and painful. And if the undercover work goes poorly, the outcome is even more tragic—there is virtually no way out, and most likely a horrific death.
You may want to watch the movie "Black and White" starring Nick Cheung. I believe you can more or less feel the bitterness and helplessness of being an undercover agent.
Wu Xiong came out soon, and without Hua Di asking, he told him what happened inside. "Brother Hua, it turns out the director also taught my parents. He let me in to encourage me. Brother Hua, I will definitely study hard and become a good police officer like my parents."
"You will." Huadi said to him.
Hua Di had thought a lot about Wu Xiong. He realized that he wasn't suited to the police profession. He wasn't very smart, and the police needed someone with a flexible mind. However, Wu Xiong wasn't without a good position. The Flying Tigers was a good fit for him. Although the Flying Tigers were dangerous, Wu Xiong's physical strength and fitness were well-suited to the position.
