Ye Youlan's daily life of traveling through time
Chapter 88 Just keep it for the sake of quenching your thirst
In the inn ahead, Xiaomei sat on the threshold crying. Li Yi comforted her: "Princess, nothing will happen."
Xiaomei raised her peach-like eyes and said, "But a whole day and a whole night have passed, and the prince still hasn't found the princess. It's so cold, how can the princess bear it? She has never suffered such hardship in her life."
As they were talking, light snow started falling outside. Xiaomei burst into tears. Li Yi stood up and asked Xiaomei to go back into the house and wait while he went out to take a look.
Xiaomei held Li Yi's hand and said, "You have to be careful."
The Seventh Prince and his companions followed the traces of the carriage all the way to the cliff. Standing on the cliff and looking down, they saw nothing but fog and clouds.
Li Zhi advised the Seventh Prince to go back and have some rest first, as he would not be able to endure a whole day and night without sleep.
The Seventh Prince was soaked to the skin, his eyes were red and swollen, and his eyes were terrifyingly sinister. Li Zhi didn't dare to persuade him anymore: "Prince, let's go to the bottom of the cliff and take a look!"
So everyone followed the mountain road to the bottom of the cliff. After walking for several hours, they finally arrived at the valley. They only saw the broken carriage and the remains of horses that had been devoured by wild beasts.
Everyone dispersed to look for the princess, but found nothing. Everyone was disappointed. This meant that the princess did not fall off the cliff, so where was she?
The snow was getting heavier and heavier. It would be very dangerous if everyone stayed here and didn't go out. The guard looked at Li Zhi, and Li Zhi looked at the Seventh Prince.
The Seventh Prince said coldly, "Retreat."
The Seventh Prince fainted due to exhaustion, and it took another day and night for him to wake up.
The first thing he did when he opened his eyes was to ask Li Zhi if he had found the princess. Before Li Zhi could answer, he knew the answer from his expression.
He asked Li Zhi to bring him food. He wanted to eat. Only after he was full would he have the energy to look for Ye Youlan.
But whenever he thought of Ye Youlan who was suffering somewhere at this moment, every bite of food he ate was painful, and tears couldn't help but fall. Li Zhi couldn't bear it and turned away.
As the Seventh Prince was eating, he suddenly remembered a dream he had had: a woman with short hair and strange clothes was calling him. He put down his chopsticks, walked to his desk, and drew the woman from memory. He called Xiaomei over and asked her if she looked familiar.
Xiaomei's eyes were red and swollen. She was very angry that the Seventh Prince had time to paint instead of looking for the princess. She walked over to take a look at the portrait and said, "Isn't this the princess? Why is her hair so short? What kind of clothes is she wearing? Why are her arms and legs exposed?"
Li Zhi stretched his head to take a look, but the prince quickly put the painting away. He had a strong premonition that Ye Youlan must be telling him a dream. He closed his eyes and thought carefully about the scene in the dream. Then he took out another piece of paper and started drawing on it. With a few simple strokes, he drew a hillside with a huge stone next to it and a small tree on one side of the stone.
He showed it to Li Zhi, who was surprised and said, "When we were looking for the princess yesterday, I seemed to have seen this stone and this tree. Yes, it was this tree. I was wondering why there was a tree growing on this hillside."
When the Seventh Prince heard this, he picked up his sword and rushed out, and Xiaomei followed him.
They came to the place where they had walked along the traces of the carriage that day, and indeed saw a huge stone. The Seventh Prince was surprised. They walked around the big stone and went down about ten meters. There was a small platform there, which was only big enough for one person to stand.
Li Zhi said, "Your Majesty, let me go and take a look first."
The Seventh Prince suppressed his excitement and stopped Li Zhi with his sword: "You two wait here, I'll go down and take a look first."
The Seventh Prince leaped onto the platform and used his sword to push aside the weeds. He discovered a cave inside. He crouched down and walked inside. "Ye Youlan, are you in there?"
Ye Youlan's excited voice came from inside: "Prince, I'm here, I'm here."
The Seventh Prince hurried inside. After about five or six steps, he saw Ye Youlan leaning against the rock wall, with messy hair, blood on her forehead and clothes, looking at him aggrievedly.
The Seventh Prince walked over and hugged her tightly: "It's great that you're still alive."
Ye Youlan reminded the Seventh Prince: "Don't move my leg, it seems to be broken."
The Seventh Prince loosened his arms and gently touched her leg with his hand: "Which leg?"
Ye Youlan pointed to her left leg: "The calf is fractured."
Xiaomei watched the Seventh Prince carrying the Princess out, and she cried excitedly, "Princess, Princess."
Ye Youlan was afraid of the bright light outside, so she kept her eyes closed when she came out. When she heard Xiaomei crying, she smiled and said, "I'm fine, why are you crying?"
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and was very happy that the princess was still alive.
After returning to the inn, Ye Youlan took a bath. After sending the doctor away, the Seventh Prince held her tightly, unwilling to let go. "Tell me how you got through these past two days and two nights."
Ye Youlan perked up. She told the Seventh Prince that the horse was frightened and kept running forward. She was staggering in the carriage. She tried to calm herself down, lifted the curtain to check the terrain outside, and then jumped out of the carriage when the time was right. She was holding a large bag in her hand, which acted as a buffer. She only had a broken leg, so she tried to stand up and jumped behind a large rock on one leg. Fearing that there would be assassins chasing her, she broke off a branch and used it as a crutch to walk down. She didn't expect there was a cave, so she hid here. I knew you would come to find me. There were cakes in the bag, so I barely had something to eat. When I was thirsty, there was water seeping from the rock wall in the cave.
Ye Youlan looked up at the Seventh Prince: "How did you find me? It was faster than I expected. I thought you would have been looking for me under the cliff for seven or eight days!"
The Seventh Prince stood up and took the portrait to show Ye Youlan: "This person appeared in my dream."
When Ye Youlan saw the woman in the portrait, her heart raced with excitement. Wasn't this her modern self? Compared to the Seventh Prince, her painting was truly crap.
Her hair was short, pinned to her ears, and her dress was fitted and flowing. Could it be that she had fallen asleep in the cave and her spirit had left her body? Why couldn't she remember anything at all?
Ye Youlan smiled and asked the prince, "Who is this? A woman from the Western Regions? She's wearing strange clothes."
"Don't you think she looks a lot like you?"
Ye Youlan asked mischievously, "Who is prettier, her or me?"
"Of course you're pretty. I'm just curious about your relationship with this woman. Are you twin sisters?"
Ye Youlan asked him to put the painting away and ask her father when she returned to the capital whether a midwife had stolen their daughter away from her.
"This portrait is for your mother-in-law to see, not your father-in-law."
Ye Youlan glared at him, "You won't secretly take it out to admire it in the future, will you?"
"If she were you, I would, but if she wasn't you, I wouldn't. How about you keep this painting?"
Ye Youlan jokingly said, "Our marriage was arranged by the Queen Mother, and you can't have other women. Just keep this painting and let it quench your thirst!"
The Seventh Prince bent down and kissed her cheek: "I have plum blossoms ready-made, so I don't want this painting!"
