Ye Youlan's daily life of traveling through time

Chapter 2 A Long and Painful Dream

Ye Youlan had a long and painful dream last night. Li Zong's father had framed the prime minister, and the court had his entire family arrested for treason and collaborating with the enemy, to be executed three days later.

Minister Li pretends to plead with the Emperor, speaking favorably for the Prime Minister's family, even going so far as to allow his promising son, Li Zong, to marry Ye Youlan. He cherishes friendship and, despite the risk of disobeying the Emperor, campaigns extensively on behalf of the Prime Minister's family.

The emperor took pity on his sincerity and, without more clear evidence, exiled all the people in the Prime Minister's Mansion, promoted Li Shangshu to Prime Minister, and promoted Li Zong three levels higher.

Ye Youlan was carried in a sedan chair into the residence of the newly appointed Prime Minister, Li Zong. The sudden change in her family had left her in a state of panic, and her only recourse was Li Zong. However, ever since her marriage, she had been constantly ignored by Li Zong, who sometimes even deliberately embraced her in front of him to atone for his past behavior as a sycophant.

Ye Youlan married into the Li Mansion alone, without anyone to serve her. Her husband's family ignored her, and the servants naturally guessed their master's thoughts and abused her even more. Soon she was dying.

On the day of her death, the autumn rain was bleak. In the simple house, she could feel the autumn wind and rain squeezing in through the broken windows and cracks in the door, making her feel particularly cold.

She used her last bit of strength to call out Li Zong's name.

Li Zong came to see if she was dead.

Ye Youlan's hair was disheveled, her face was ashen, her lips were cracked, and her eyes were empty. She weakly asked Li Zong why he married her in the first place and why he didn't let her go into exile with her family?

Li Zong frowned with a look of disdain: "If you go into exile, who will I play the role of a devoted lover who will never leave you?"

Ye Youlan understood immediately: "This is all a conspiracy. You and your son have teamed up to frame my father. Your father has been appointed as the Prime Minister, and you have also been promoted three levels, rising to prominence."

Li Zong sneered, "Ye Youlan, you're not stupid. It's a pity you found out too late. Just go without worry. I'll find a good straw mat to wrap you up."

Ye Youlan was burning with rage, her eyes bloodshot, and she spat out a mouthful of blood. She died before she could finish saying the word "I hate you".

Ye Youlan woke up from a nightmare in the morning. Her mind was a little confused, and she spent a day sorting out her scattered thoughts.

She is a senior novel fan. When she was reading her favorite novel, she sympathized with the tragic fate of the heroine and couldn't help cursing the author's bloody plot. Then she came here when she woke up.

She saw Xiaomei walking briskly and laughing, and learned that tomorrow was the day her father would go to the Full Moon Tower. She had no choice but to stop him. She tried to persuade her mother to persuade her father to accompany her to burn incense tomorrow. Her mother laughed at her, saying that the prime minister was too busy every day, but she didn't dare say anything.

She went to find her elder brother, but he was busy with military affairs and scolded her, saying that as a girl she should not meddle in men's affairs and that she should learn needlework when she had time.

After dinner in the evening, she went to her father's study and advised her father not to go out for social events tomorrow, but to go home early, as she would have a surprise for everyone.

Her father agreed with a smile, then drove her out, saying that he had a lot of important things to do!

Ye Youlan knew that her father was dealing with her, and she realized that she was unable to dissuade her family. She thought of one person, the Seventh Prince.

The original host didn’t know that the Seventh Prince liked her, but "Ye Youlan" knew it, because she was a senior novel fan and knew all the plots clearly.

At the hour of Xu, she asked Xiaomei to get the clothes of the servant in the mansion and quietly go out through the back door.

Others only knew that the prince had made great military achievements, but they did not know why he did not take military credit or care about state affairs after returning to the court, but just lingered in brothels and lived a life of drunkenness and dreams.

Ye Youlan knew that after the Seventh Prince returned to the capital, he once wanted to exchange his military merits for a marriage with the original host, but before he could open his mouth to mention it, the Prime Minister told him that his daughter already had someone in her heart and invited him to attend the wedding.

The Seventh Prince knew that his original host liked Li Zong, so he concealed his feelings, refused military merits, and became a leisurely prince with a lot of rewards. The emperor was most afraid that his achievements would surpass his master, so now that he took the initiative to hand over his military power, the emperor was very satisfied and doubled his rewards.

Ye Youlan knew that the prime minister's family had been executed in public and exiled to the frontier, thanks to the Seventh Prince's military merits and the surrender of half of the palace's assets in exchange for her safe marriage into the Li family. It was the Seventh Prince who had done the good deed, but all the credit went to the Li father and son.

Ye Youlan knew where the Seventh Prince was at this moment.

When she appeared at the back door of Jinguifang in the pouring rain, the guards were surprised. The prince had been very low-key in coming to Jinguifang, and no one in Jinguifang knew about it except those close to him, because the prince always went to brothels in a low-key manner and left in a high-profile manner. How could the servant in front of him know?

The guards didn't dare delay and quickly went to inform Li Zhi, the Seventh Prince's personal guard. If he really had something to ask the prince, it would be fine, but if it was fake, then there would be no return.

Ye Youlan was soaking in the bathtub with her eyes closed. Xiaomei came to urge her, so she got up, dried herself, put on her clothes and went back to the house.

Xiaomei brought her ginger tea and some snacks, and curiously asked the lady why she went out in the late night and in such heavy rain?

Ye Youlan smiled. She didn’t know how to explain to Xiaomei. Anyway, she was still very excited when she woke up and saw Xiaomei standing beside her.

"Now is not the time to talk about this. I will tell you later."

Ye Youlan took a sip of ginger tea, which felt warm and comfortable. She then took another bite of the snack, but it didn't taste as good as the one in front of the prince. Could it be that because she was hungry when she went there in the rain, everything tasted delicious to her?

"Miss, will you go on an outing with Master Li and the others tomorrow?"

Ye Youlan couldn't look Li Zong in the eye right now. She shook her head and said, "Send someone to the Jin residence tomorrow to tell Ruoyun that I've caught a cold and will take a few days off before making an appointment."

"Why didn't Miss tell Mr. Li directly?"

Ye Youlan was silent for a moment: "I have grown up and need to avoid suspicion."

Xiaomei wanted to ask more, but Ye Youlan yawned and stretched, "You go down, I'm sleepy, I want to sleep."

Ye Youlan couldn't fall asleep lying in bed. She suddenly appeared in front of the Seventh Prince today. She seemed calm and composed on the surface, but she was actually extremely nervous.

She knew the Seventh Prince would listen to her advice. If she didn't marry Li Zong, would she really marry him? Her mind flashed with the image of the Prince lying on the couch, his white undergarment open, revealing his muscular chest.

Ye Youlan smiled and pulled the quilt over her head. She was shy.

The prince also did not sleep that night. He put on his clothes and asked Li Zhi to drive him back to the palace.

Li Zhi was in a dilemma. Could he wait until the rain stopped? But seeing the prince's stern eyes, he took back his words.

It was raining heavily as an ordinary horse-drawn carriage left from the back door of Jinguifang.
