Mr. Gu's wife is a little naughty
Chapter 64 The Truth
"Why are you here alone?"
Inside the box, soft light shone on Lin Tao. He leisurely sat down on the soft sofa, with a playful look in his eyes as he gently glanced at Hong Momo who was still standing there.
Hong Momo, her figure becoming increasingly cramped amidst the interplay of light and shadow, her hands unconsciously folded before her, as if even the air were filled with an indescribable tension and subtlety. Her eyes occasionally flickered, not daring to look directly at Lin Tao's face, as if searching for some kind of support, but unable to do anything but stand there motionless.
"Why, are you planning on standing here and talking to me?" Lin Tao's words were lighthearted and teasing, trying to ease the sudden tension. "We've been alone together before in Tibet, so why are you scared now?"
Hong Momo initially felt that coming here like this was a bit inconsiderate, and the thought of leaving emerged in his mind.
"Actually, I expected Beichen not to come. It would be a bit surprising if he came." Lin Tao could see that Hong Momo wanted to leave, so he spoke before she could open her mouth.
"What does Mr. Gu mean by this?"
Hong Momo looked at Lin Tao in confusion.
Lin Tao leisurely raised the glass of crystal clear red wine in his hand and swayed it gently. The wine swirled in the glass, reflecting colorful light and shadows. He took a sip and a meaningful smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. "Literally."
Hong Momo forced a bitter smile and then turned around to leave.
"Since we're already here, there's no need to rush." Lin Tao said calmly, "I know Miss Hong will definitely come. After all, compared to the affairs of her fiancé, how can anything else compare?"
Momo's steps paused slightly, and her departing figure appeared hesitant and struggling under the soft light. Finally, she slowly turned around, her eyes sharp as a torch, staring directly at Lin Tao.
"So how does Mr. Gu want to cooperate?" Hong Momo asked Lin Tao.
"I'm not prepared to cooperate." Lin Tao shook the wine glass in his hand lightly, smiled indifferently, and his tone was as indifferent as the red wine.
"In that case, I'll take my leave first." Hong Momo let out a light breath, and before she finished her words, she turned slightly and was about to leave again.
"Don't you want to know the truth about the Tibetan incident?" Lin Tao didn't seem to have any intention of stopping her, and continued to speak calmly.
"What's the truth?" Hong Momo paused and looked back, her eyes filled with confusion and vigilance. "Could it be that Mr. Gu still wants to say that the incident is related to my fiancé?"
Hong Momo's face was quietly filled with an indescribable complexity. Recalling the past in Tibet, she seemed to still remember Lin Tao's warning to her.
Lin Tao didn't say anything, but clapped his hands twice. The door of the box opened silently, and several men dressed in black with stern faces walked in. Among them, a figure with a heavy black cloth tightly bound around his head stood out.
Hong Momo was so shocked by this sudden turn of events that she stumbled back repeatedly, her eyes filled with disbelief and deep fear. Her eyes widened, her gaze darting between the men in black, finally settling on the figure shrouded in darkness. An indescribable chill welled up in her heart.
"What does Mr. Gu mean?" Hong Momo's voice trembled a little, and she pointed at those people and asked Lin Tao.
Lin Tao remained calm and composed, a gentle smile lingering on his lips. He nodded gently, signaling one of the men in black to proceed. The man in black deftly pulled the black cloth covering the man's head. "You might remember this person."
"It's you?" Momo exclaimed, her voice filled with shock and disbelief. The man with the hood covering his head was the driver who had pretended to be kind in Tibet. Although it had happened a long time ago, the driver's appearance was deeply engraved in Hong Momo's mind. Whenever she thought of it, she felt an inexplicable fear.
Seeing this person here again at this moment was like a nightmare replaying, causing her face to instantly lose its color, replaced by a complex expression of paleness and fear.
"What's going on with him?"
Hong Momo's gaze turned slightly and fell on Lin Tao.
Lin Tao didn't respond immediately. His large sunglasses acted like an invisible barrier, cleverly concealing his deep eyes and making all his emotions seem confusing. Hong Momo couldn't help but feel a sense of inexplicable chill and awe, as if the "Boss Gu" before her was suddenly shrouded in a mysterious and majestic aura.
Involuntarily, she took a slight step backward, her inner uneasiness clearly visible. She had already retreated to the edge of the sofa, stumbled, and fell awkwardly to the other side.
Hong Momo's eyes flashed with undisguised fear. She stared at Lin Tao, her voice trembling slightly: "Why is this person... here?"
"Of course I caught him, otherwise why would I have called you here tonight?" Lin Tao took another sip of his wine. "Now you can start asking any questions you have."
Hong Momo swallowed hard, her eyes involuntarily falling on the unconscious driver again, "What happened to him?"
