Rebirth and making money first
Chapter 33: Even tourism can’t take away the property enthusiasts
Zhang Jing's determination to break up was eroded by A-Long's crazy demands. This man who had consumed her energy for more than ten years was indeed her doom. A-Long was very satisfied with Zhang Jing. No matter how many times Zhang Jing said to break up, he turned a deaf ear to it.
Zhang Jing didn't really want to go to the lottery, but she couldn't stop anyone else. A-Long was there too, but Zhang Jing didn't care; she just wanted to go to bed early. In her daze, she didn't know when A-Long came back; she could only smell the strong aroma of barbecue coming from him. "Did you have hot pot again? The mutton smell is too strong," Zhang Jing muttered, closing her eyes, and then fell back asleep.
It wasn't until A'long kept fiddling with her that she finally came to her senses. A'long told her that several people had won the shop, but he suspected there might be something fishy. Zhang Jing laughed at him for not seeing through it. After A'long explained in detail, she realized that he had only won a razor. Seeing A'long's unhappy look, Zhang Jing smiled and said, "That razor can be used by me. I just need a tool to shave my armpit hair." A'long immediately put the razor away, saying that it was a famous brand and Zhang Jing couldn't let it go to waste.
He also told Zhang Jing that there were disposable ones in the hotel bathroom and she could use those first. Zhang Jing muttered to herself that there was a reason why this man didn't win the store, because he was too stingy, and it must be because he didn't have enough blessings!
That morning, Zhang Zhi called, asking how to get her the laptop. Zhang Jing, remembering the situation, hurriedly asked her brother to take a taxi to the hotel. Before leaving, she received the laptop and tried it out in her room. It worked perfectly. Zhang Jing immediately gained confidence. When A-Long realized it was only 1500 yuan, he praised her for finding it. He agreed to return to Shenzhen to help her debug the laptop.
Zhang Jing breathed a sigh of relief when she learned that many people weren't going to Luofu Mountain. She didn't like crowded places; the noise put her in a bad mood. Their reasoning was still to choose a shop. After all, with so many people, it's impossible for everyone to go sightseeing. Someone has to do something, especially when it comes to investing and making money. Who can resist money? Traveling can be done anytime, but buying a shop is different.
So the troops split into two groups, each taking what they needed. Those who were looking at shops would deliver the goods there, while those who were going to Luofu Mountain would set off. People like Zhang Jing, Director Chen, Gao Wei, etc. all went to Luofu Mountain. After all, everyone had bought shops, so it was normal to relax and have fun in the remaining time.
Uncle Zhang, Uncle Zhuang, Aunt Zhang and her daughter were heading to Yiwu, wanting to see more. Ah Long had been planning to go to Yiwu too, but Zhang Jing dragged him onto the bus to Luofu Mountain. Zhang Jing told him not to waste his time unless he was planning to buy another shop. Perhaps feeling pressured, Ah Long gave up the tour and followed them to Luofu Mountain.
Luofu Mountain is a Taoist holy site, attracting many tourists. Despite two buses already packed, upon arrival, many seats were still empty. Zhang Jing couldn't help but sigh, "Even tourism can't dissuade these property-crazed tourists!" Everyone chatted and enjoyed the beautiful scenery, even spotting an elderly Taoist priest enjoying tea.
There's not only a shooting range but also a horse racing track, though these recreational activities require a fee. Recalling her past life's experience of horse racing at the Luofu Mountain Racecourse, Zhang Jing felt an impulse surge. Without hesitation, she paid the money and prepared to test her skills on the horse. A-Long tried to stop her, but Zhang Jing relentlessly handed over his money as well. With no other options, A-Long and Zhang Jing handed their backpacks to Gao Wei for safekeeping while they went to select their horses.
Zhang Jing had her eye on a bay horse, while A-Long preferred a reddish-brown. Zhang Jing suggested a white horse instead, saying it would make him look more handsome, like Prince Charming. After a moment's deliberation, A-Long finally agreed. They then began to consult the horse trainer about riding techniques and precautions. Just then, Zhang Jing suddenly called out, "Director Chen, please take some photos for us!" Director Chen quickly pulled out his camera, ready to capture this beautiful moment.
Zhang Jing and A'long rode their horses slowly forward, and soon Zhang Jing was riding a gallop. A burst of exclamations erupted from the field. Seeing this, the horse trainer hurriedly shouted, reminding her to tighten her legs, hold the reins, and stop the horse. However, Zhang Jing, unconcerned, shouted, "I'm fine!" She ran two laps in one breath before finally dismounting, content. After dismounting, the trainer gave her a thumbs-up and praised her, saying, "A woman is as capable as a man!" This praise filled Zhang Jing with immense pride and satisfaction.
Aaron was riding slowly behind, and when he saw Zhang Jing running off, he picked up the pace and broke into a canter. At the finish line, the trainer stopped him, telling the others behind him that they could only walk or jog once after paying. He explained, "What happened to the young lady just now was an accident. It's our fault for not explaining the rules clearly to everyone."
Director Chen, unconvinced, handed Zhang Jing his camera and selected a bay horse. Gao Qiang, seeing this, handed his bag and purse to A-Long and chose the same white horse he had ridden. They also specifically urged Zhang Jing to take more photos, and she immediately began snapping. Besides the riders, she also took photos of the other group members, and A-Long snapped two as well. It's always better to be prepared, just in case.
Director Chen and Gao Wei both rode around, leaving A-Long regretting not having done so earlier. "How about you pay for another lap? This time, pick the maroon horse," Zhang Jing suggested. A-Long declined, saying, "No need. They're all pretty much the same. And 50 yuan for just one lap is way too much! It's enough for two good meals at a fast food restaurant. I can't afford to waste money." Zhang Jing immediately said, "I paid for it just now. Pay it back later." A-Long laughed and said, "You cheapskate! Didn't you treat me to a ride?" Seeing Zhang Jing glaring at him, he whispered, "Actually, we could have just ridden one horse and saved another 50 yuan." Zhang Jing completely stopped wanting to talk to him.
After a blast, it was time for lunch. Everyone was hungry, so they started looking for food. Someone suggested finding a restaurant in the scenic area for lunch, but the tour leader inquired and found that the food was very expensive, beyond their budget. After some discussion, they decided to head down the mountain and find a more affordable restaurant in the city. The tour leader also contacted the bunk supervisors, instructing them to prepare and board the bus as soon as possible, waiting for everyone to return to the hotel for a buffet meal. They planned to check out by 2:00 PM and begin their return journey to Shenzhen.
The store team leader expressed understanding and support for this arrangement, believing it to be a wise choice that would save costs and avoid wasting time on purchasing stores. If someone needs more time to complete a task, they will be allowed to return to Shenzhen on their own, without having to wait for others. This will improve the efficiency of the entire team.
When everyone arrived at the hotel, they were all very satisfied with the trip. The buffet was particularly impressive. The tour leader concluded, "This trip was a great success!" He then reminded everyone to check out on time and prepare for their return trip.
However, for various reasons, some were unable to return to Shenzhen with the rest of the group. Some chose to stay behind to handle follow-up matters related to their home purchases. While this was understandable, it meant they would be making the journey home alone. While this was a slight regret, everyone's circumstances were different, and some might need more time to sort out matters or fully enjoy their own travels.
Those who decided not to return with the vehicle went to sign up with the group leader. Zhang Jing was busy eating, too busy to pay attention to the others. A-Long, standing nearby, quickly grabbed the shrimp and crabs, meticulously peeling them for Zhang Jing. Facing Zhang Jing's disdain for the crabs, he unceremoniously devoured them. He urged her to eat quickly and stop talking.
Zhang Jing once again reminded Ah Long not to take too much food at a buffet, lest he waste it and get fined. This time, Ah Long rolled his eyes at her, angering Zhang Jing enough to ignore him. However, when Ah Long placed the peeled shrimp on her plate, she ate it anyway. Then, she got up to add some of her favorite fried noodles, vegetables, and fruit. A moment later, she noticed Ah Long also eating her portion of noodles and vegetables, and of course, the fruit as well. Zhang Jing couldn't help but wonder if others saw her and Ah Long as a married couple. After all, they were so in tune with each other.
Among those who stayed behind were Aunt Zhuang and her husband, Aunt Zhang's mother and daughter, and Gao Wei. This surprised Zhang Jing, but A-Long told her not to worry too much, saying, "It's easy to get old." Before Zhang Jing could react, he opened his wallet and asked, "Here's some money for you. How much do you want?" He successfully silenced Zhang Jing.
Zhang Jing said, "Since you asked, keep 300 and give me the rest!" A Long replied, "A man should not be without money. You want so much and spend it recklessly. I'll give you 500 first. Ask me for more when you're done." Zhang Jing took the money and thought to herself, this man is willing to give her money today. The sun is rising from the west.
What Zhang Jing didn't know was that after getting to know her, A-Long had determined that Zhang Jing was his girlfriend. And a girlfriend he could marry, especially after learning she'd bought a shop. He was even more reluctant to let her go, and felt it was only right that he give her some money.
