In the gloomy forest, Zhang Xianling stood tall and straight, his expression solemn like a cold star.

His hands moved nimbly, and talismans fluttered across his fingertips. Soon, an exquisite paper crane appeared before his eyes.

The paper crane emitted a soft glow all over its body, which was the spiritual power injected by Zhang Xianling.

He approached the paper crane and whispered softly, "Paper crane, oh paper crane, carry my concern, fly to the distance, and pass my message to Miss Wei Yinhong."

After saying this, the paper crane seemed to come alive, gently flapping its wings and instantly disappearing into the sky.

Zhang Xianling looked at the direction where the paper crane left, his eyes flashing with an indescribable worry. His lips moved slightly, and he murmured to himself: "Miss Yin Hong, when I put this turmoil to rest, I will cross thousands of mountains and rivers to return to you."

Then, he turned to look at Shen Tu Yu, nodded firmly, and said, "Junior brother, let's set off."

Shentu Yu had a stern and solemn expression on his face. He replied "yes" and led Zhang Xianling towards home.

Along the way, they slept in the open air, like a frightened bird, not daring to stop for a moment, for fear that the mysterious organization would catch up with them like a ghost.

The howling wind ruffled their hair; the scorching sun burned their bodies; the drizzle wet their clothes.

But these difficulties and obstacles could not stop them from moving forward. They had only one belief in their hearts - to reach Futu Town and find a place to settle down.

Three days later, they finally set foot into the territory of Futu Town.

Zhang Xianling looked up and was instantly attracted by the scene before him.

The houses in the town are arranged in an orderly manner, most of them are wooden structures. Time has left mottled marks on these houses, but it has also added a bit of ancient charm.

On the eaves of the houses, there are exquisite carvings of Buddha images. When the sunlight shines down, the Buddha images seem to be endowed with a sacred light, appearing solemn and majestic, which makes people feel awe. On the streets, pedestrians are bustling back and forth.

Many people clutched their Buddhist beads, chanting to themselves, their devout devotion seeming to express their boundless reverence for the Buddha. The streetside shops were overflowing with a dazzling array of incense, candles, Buddha statues, and other Buddhist paraphernalia. The rich scent of sandalwood lingered in the air, revealing the town's deep connection with Buddhism.

"Brother, this is Futu Town, where my family lives." Shentu Yu's face showed a trace of bitterness. "But in recent years, because my family has not respected the Buddha, life in this town has become increasingly difficult."

Zhang Xianling's expression was gentle. He reached out and patted Shen Tuyu's shoulder, and said softly, "Don't worry, Junior Brother. I'm here and I will never let you and your family suffer any more injustice."

The two of them walked through the winding streets and alleys and finally arrived at Shentu Yu's home.

It was a slightly dilapidated courtyard with mottled moss covering the walls, as if telling the vicissitudes of time.

The door was crumbling, making a creaking sound in the breeze, as if sighing about its past glory and present desolation.

When I walked into the yard, I saw a white-haired old man sweeping the yard with a hunched back. Every movement he made seemed so heavy and weak.

An old woman sat on a stool nearby, her eyes empty and sad, as if she had lost her luster under the weight of life.

"Dad, Mom, I'm back." Shen Tu Yu walked quickly forward and knelt in front of his parents with a plop, his voice choked with sobs.

The broom in Shentu Yu's father's hand trembled slightly, and then he looked up, his eyes flashing with surprise: "Yu'er, you are finally back, who is this?"

His eyes fell on Zhang Xianling with some doubt.

"Dad, this is my senior brother Zhang Xianling. The two of us came here this time because we want to take shelter in our house for a while." Shen Tu Yu quickly stood up and introduced.

Shen Tuyu's father quickly put down the broom, wiped his hands on his clothes a few times, walked forward quickly, bowed and said, "It turns out to be my nephew Xianling. Please come in quickly and don't be so polite."

Zhang Xianling also bowed in return and said respectfully, "Uncle, Aunt, I am sorry for bothering you so much. I hope you will forgive me."

After everyone entered the house and sat down, Shentu Yu's mother sighed deeply, tears welling in her eyes. She said, "Yu'er, you've been gone for several years, and so many things have happened at home. Ever since we stopped worshipping Buddha with the people in town, those monks have been making things difficult for us.

Our business has plummeted, and it's hard to make ends meet. Now all that's left is this empty yard."

Shen Tuyu clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white, his eyes burning with anger: "How can they be so unreasonable!"

Zhang Xianling's eyes were as deep as the abyss, and he said slowly: "Uncle, aunt, I have heard about this matter.

The monks in this town are behaving in a manner that truly betrays the moral principles of a cultivator. However, now that we are here, we will not allow them to continue bullying us.

Shen Tuyu's father smiled bitterly and shook his head, saying helplessly, "My dear nephew, you don't know that most of the monks in this town stick together for warmth. We are weak and alone, what can we do?"

"Dad, my senior brother is very powerful, he will definitely find a way." Shen Tu Yu looked at Zhang Xianling, his eyes full of trust and expectation.

Zhang Xianling pondered for a moment, then said solemnly, "Uncle, I'd like to first understand the situation of the monks in this town. Do they have any leaders?"

Shentu Yu's father stroked his beard, thought for a moment, and said, "The monks in this town are headed by Hongfu Temple in the east of the town. The abbot of Hongfu Temple, Monk Faming, is highly respected in the town, and the monks obey his orders without hesitation."

Zhang Xianling nodded slightly, a hint of determination flashed in his eyes: "I understand."

In the next few days, Zhang Xianling and Shen Tu Yu searched everywhere in the town for information, leaving no corner unexplored.

They talked with street vendors and learned from them the monks' preferences and frequented places; they chatted with diners in teahouses and learned from them about the conflicts and disputes among the monks;

They also secretly observed the places where the monks gathered and became familiar with their patterns of action.

Through these, they gained a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the situation in Futu Town.

Although this Futu Town is close to the Western Buddhist Realm, not everyone is devoted to Buddhism.

Although there are only a few families like the Shentu family who adhere to the path of Taoism, they should not be so ruthlessly suppressed by those monks who believe in Buddhism, to the point that they can hardly raise their heads in this town.

One day, on a sunny day, Zhang Xianling and Shen Tu Yu were strolling leisurely in the town, but unexpectedly they met a group of monks.

The leader was a burly man with a face full of flesh and fierce eyes.

When he saw Shen Tu Yu, a mocking sneer instantly appeared on his face. That smile was like the cold wind of winter, biting and cold: "Hey, isn't this Shen Tu Yu? What? You dare to come back?"

Shen Tuyu's face was as gloomy as if a storm was about to break out. He said coldly, "Liu Hu, I'm going back to my own home. What does it have to do with you?"

Liu Hu threw his head back and laughed heartily, his laughter filled with disdain and arrogance: "Your home? This Futu Town is a place blessed by the Buddha. How can it tolerate heretics like you who don't respect the Buddha!"

Zhang Xianling moved and took a step forward. His posture was as straight as a pine tree. His eyes were as cold as ice knives as he stared at Liu Hu. His voice was low and majestic. "Your Excellency, please be very careful with your words. This Futu Town is not your territory alone. Why can't you accommodate others?"

A hint of panic flashed across Liu Hu's eyes, but it was immediately covered up by his arrogance.

He looked Zhang Xianling up and down, and said with disdain, "Where did you come from, this unknown person? Stop meddling in other people's business, or else don't blame me for being rude!"

Zhang Xianling raised the corner of his mouth, sketching a sneer, as if mocking Liu Hu's ignorance and arrogance: "Then let me see how capable you are."

After he finished speaking, Zhang Xianling's spiritual power surged like surging waves, and a powerful and majestic aura instantly emanated from him.

Liu Hu's face suddenly changed. He clearly felt the terrifying strength of Zhang Xianling that far exceeded his own, and a trace of fear arose in his heart.

But he had always been arrogant, and he still said stubbornly: "Hmph, just wait, this matter is not over yet!" After that, he hurried away with the group of monks, his steps were hurried, as if there were wolves chasing him.

Shen Tu Yu looked at Liu Hu's departing back, frowning, and said worriedly, "Brother, this Liu Hu will definitely not give up. He will definitely go to Hongfu Temple to get reinforcements to deal with us."

Zhang Xianling remained calm, his eyes revealing a resoluteness. "Brother, if an enemy comes, we will fight him; if a flood comes, we will block it with earth. It's time for us to go meet the abbot of Hongfu Temple."

When the two arrived at Hongfu Temple, they saw that the temple gate was closed and solemn.

The two stone lions at the door are majestic, like two guards guarding the temple, gazing into the distance.

Zhang Xianling stepped forward, stretched out his hand and gently knocked on the temple door.

After a while, the door slowly opened, and a little monk poked his head out, clasped his hands together, and said softly, "Amitabha, what can I do for you, benefactor?"

Zhang Xianling also clasped his hands together and said respectfully, "Young Master, please inform him that I wish to see Abbot Faming."

The little monk glanced at them and said, "Please wait a moment, benefactor." Then he turned around and went in to report.

After a while, the young monk came out and said, "Abbot, please come in."

Zhang Xianling and Shentu Yu followed the little monk into the temple, where they saw smoke curling around the temple, making it look like a paradise on earth.

The majestic Buddha statues stand tall, inspiring awe. Arriving at the main hall, a monk in a cassock sits on a cushion, his eyes slightly closed and a peaceful expression.

This person is Abbot Fa Ming.

"Amitabha, I wonder what brings you two donors here?" Abbot Fa Ming opened his eyes slightly, looked at them calmly, and spoke in a low and gentle voice.

Zhang Xianling bowed and said respectfully, "Abbot Faming, I have long heard of your great name. I have come to discuss the affairs of the monks in Futu Town. I have heard that the monks in this town are often ostracizing those who persist in practicing Taoism. Doesn't this seem to run counter to the good intentions that practitioners should uphold?"

Abbot Faming frowned slightly, clasped his hands together, and slowly said, "This is all the spontaneous behavior of the monks in the town. As the abbot, I cannot interfere too much. Moreover, this Futu Town is adjacent to the Buddhist realm, so naturally the Buddha should be respected."

Zhang Xianling sneered and said, "Just because we're close to the Buddha realm, are we going to exterminate all the other cultivators? The Buddha is compassionate and would surely not want to see such a scene."

Abbot Fa Ming's face darkened, and there was a hint of displeasure in his voice: "Are you blaming me, benefactor?"

"I dare not, but I hope the abbot can come forward to take care of this matter and restore the peace and tranquility of the past to Futu Town." Zhang Xianling said.

Abbot Fa Ming was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "I will consider this matter carefully. Please return, benefactors."

Zhang Xianling knew in his heart that Abbot Fa Ming was not someone who could be easily persuaded, but he was not impatient. After all, this was only the first step in a long game.

After returning to Shentu Yu's home, Shentu Yu's parents anxiously surrounded him and asked, "How is it? What did the people at Hongfu Temple say?"

Zhang Xianling looked calm and soothing, "Uncle, Aunt, Abbot Fa Ming said he would consider this matter. We should wait patiently."

However, what they waited for was not the mediation of Abbot Fa Ming, but Liu Hu brought more monks to cause trouble.

"Shen Tu Yu, today is the day you die!" Liu Hu stood outside the yard, shouting loudly. The sound was like the cry of a night owl, which made people shudder.

Zhang Xianling and Shen Tu Yu walked out of the yard steadily, their eyes firm and fearless, like two gods of war. They faced the mob in front of them without any fear.

"Liu Hu, are you really going to be so stubborn and insist on going down this path to the end?" Zhang Xianling's voice was low and majestic, like the ringing of a huge bell.

"Hmph, stop talking nonsense and come at me!" Liu Hu waved his hand, and those monks surged up like a tide, with weapons in their hands flashing with cold light.

Zhang Xianling and Shen Tu Yu looked at each other, cast spells, and fought with those monks.

Zhang Xianling danced with his hands, and his spiritual power was like a nimble snake, instantly transforming into sharp blades. Wherever he went, the monks screamed and fell to the ground in pain, and the ground was stained red with blood.

Shen Tu Yu was not to be outdone. Although his magic was not as powerful as Zhang Xianling's, it also had its own unique subtleties.

For a moment, the two sides fell into a fierce stalemate, with shouts and screams intertwined, making the originally quiet courtyard seem like a hell on earth.

At this critical moment, Abbot Fa Ming rushed over with several eminent monks.

"Stop it!" Abbot Fa Ming shouted, like a bolt from the blue. The monks immediately stopped what they were doing and looked terrified.

"Amitabha, how can we start a war in Futu Town?" Abbot Fa Ming looked at Liu Hu and others, his eyes full of blame and anger.

Liu Hu lowered his head and said in a trembling voice, "Abbot, Shen Tuyu and his men disrespected the Buddha and even contradicted you. We are seeking justice for the Buddha."

Abbot Fa Ming snorted coldly, "That's enough! I will handle this matter properly. You all can go back."

Although Liu Hu and others were unwilling, they did not dare to disobey the order of Abbot Fa Ming, so they had to leave in disgrace, looking as miserable as a dog that had lost its home.

Abbot Fa Ming looked at Zhang Xianling and Shen Tu Yu and said, "Two donors, please come back to the temple with me."

Zhang Xianling and Shentu Yu looked at each other, nodded, and followed Abbot Faming back to Hongfu Temple.

In the temple's meditation room, Abbot Faming slowly sat down and said solemnly, "My two benefactors, today's events have made me deeply aware that the conflicts in this town have reached a point of tension and irreconcilability. I have indeed been negligent in these matters before. Now, I am willing to mediate and ask the monks in this town to put aside their prejudices, stop ostracizing others, and cultivate together at the edge of this Buddhist realm."

Zhang Xianling bowed slightly and said gratefully, "It is a blessing for Futu Town that the abbot has such awareness."

Abbot Faming sighed and said, "In fact, I also know very well that the path of cultivation should not be limited by the division of Buddhism and Taoism. As long as one has good thoughts and is wholeheartedly devoted to the Tao, one can achieve the right result."
