I am the Holy Poisoner, the Empress advised me to calm down
Chapter 283 It’s really amazing
"Yes, Commander!" The soldiers answered in unison, their voices filled with unprecedented firmness and determination.
"It's truly amazing," a young villager exclaimed as he watched the scene unfold before him. "He seems ordinary at ordinary times, but he can shine so brightly at the crucial moment."
Another slightly older man nearby nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's what a true hero is. One who can protect everyone and give us a sense of security."
As the first wave of new enemies approached the edge of the position, fierce fighting erupted once again. This time, Leon was no longer fighting alone, but was joined by more warriors. Ivan continuously cast healing magic to ensure the wounded were able to recover immediately; Lucy constantly directed and adjusted tactics to ensure everyone was at their best; and Mireya, with her agility, shuttled across the battlefield, each attack accurately and decisively crushing the enemy.
"Look over there!" someone suddenly shouted, and everyone looked where they were directed—a group of new-type monsters with wings and the ability to fly were rapidly approaching from the air. "They seem to be heading straight for the center!"
"This is even more dangerous!" Someone next to him immediately responded, his words full of worry about the future.
But Leon showed no sign of panic. Instead, he calmly analyzed the situation. "Since they're coming from the sky, let's use our archers' advantage to fight back. Everyone, get ready and follow my command."
Just as everyone was preparing to face this new force, a sudden gust of wind interrupted all plans. Several black-robed figures appeared at the back of the battlefield, holding staves and with cold, fierce eyes. They didn't look like ordinary enemies.
"Who are these people?" someone among the onlookers asked curiously.
"Oh no, this is the enemy's magician!" Leon's face changed slightly, and he immediately realized that he might face a more difficult situation next.
At this moment, the leading magician spoke, his words filled with barely concealed contempt: "You think you can stop us with just this little ability? It's a joke!"
Hearing this, Mireya's eyes flashed with anger, but she did not take action immediately. Instead, she quickly exchanged a look with Leon, indicating that he should be prepared to deal with any possible situation at any time.
"Everyone, please stay alert, but don't act rashly." Lucy reminded in time. She knew that now was not a good time to show off.
With the addition of enemy mages, the situation, which had been stable, suddenly became complicated. Strange energy fluctuations danced in the air, and the threats beneath the ground were equally difficult to guard against...
"This is not a solution. We must find a solution quickly." Leon whispered. He looked around for a breakthrough and quickly planned the next action plan in his mind.
"Have you thought of anything?" Alvin asked. Although there was some urgency in his tone, there was more trust in Leon.
"Perhaps... we can use the terrain here to set a trap," Leon explained his idea, "and lure those flying guys into the trap."
Just as several people were discussing countermeasures, a young man with keen observation in the distance suddenly reported loudly: "Wait a minute, I think I see a dense forest in the east. If we can use it to set up an ambush..."
"Good idea!" Leon's eyes lit up. "Let's do it this way. Everyone, hurry up and act according to the plan."
"But how can we lure the enemy there?" Mireya asked.
Lucy pondered for a moment and then said slowly, "Perhaps, we can use some small but obvious targets as bait."
At that moment, the battlefield fell into a brief, heavy silence. Everyone understood that every step forward was crucial, and the success of their cooperation would directly affect the survival of the entire village and even more people.
"Okay, let's get started." In the end, it was Leon who broke the silence and led the team towards an unknown fate.
-"May the light be with us." Before leaving, Alvin softly recited these words, as if injecting the last bit of hope and courage into everyone.
"Keep going, we all believe in you!" The women and children of the village shouted in unison, their voices fueling the warriors' continued advance. Meanwhile, the sky grew darker in the distance, foreshadowing the approach of a greater storm... Leon led the team into swift action. Ivan and Lucy set traps and bait, while Mireya led the archers in preparing an ambush. Time was running out, and every detail counted.
"Everyone, listen up," Lucy shouted to everyone from a high ground. "When those monsters approach the area we've set up, we'll release a signal. Then you'll attack with all your might and take them down."
"Understood!" The soldiers responded one after another, their voices full of determination.
At this time, several villagers were talking among the crowd watching at the edge of the village.
"Look, they have already started." said a young villager, his tone full of excitement.
"Well, I hope they can succeed." An older villager sighed, looking a little worried.
"Did you see Miss Mireya? She's like a whirlwind!" the young villager exclaimed in admiration.
Just as everyone was doing their job, a warrior in tattered armor suddenly ran up to Leon and reported: "Captain, our scouts have discovered that the enemy seems to be on guard and may have noticed our intentions."
"What?" Leon frowned, thought for a moment, and then ordered: "Notify Lucy to change tactics immediately. We need to adjust our strategy."
Meanwhile, Lucy was listening to the others' suggestions. "Maybe we should pretend to retreat and lure them in to chase us," a clever soldier suggested.
"That's right, let them walk into the trap," Lucy nodded in agreement and immediately arranged for the personnel to pretend to evacuate. "But we must be careful and act quickly."
Just as everything seemed to be proceeding smoothly, a group of black-robed mages began to cast spells. The sky was instantly filled with strange lights, as if even the air had grown heavy. "Oh no! It's a large-scale attack!" the crowd exclaimed.
"Don't panic!" Leon's firm voice sounded again, "Everyone, prepare your defenses and wait for the opportunity to launch a counterattack."
Suddenly, an old man passing by patted the arm of the young man next to him and said with emotion: "Look, young man, true courage is not fearlessness, but the courage to move forward in the face of fear."
