I am the Holy Poisoner, the Empress advised me to calm down
Chapter 279 is really exciting
At such a moment of uncertainty, a new chapter of the story slowly begins. What will happen next?
-"It's really exciting!" a little girl shouted excitedly.
"No matter how this goes, I think it's going to be an exciting adventure!" Her grandfather smiled and patted her head, his eyes sparkling with endless curiosity about the unknown. Lucy and her friends gathered in a circle and began to discuss how to deal with the impending threat. The air around them seemed to freeze, and everyone's heart was beating violently. They all knew that this was not just a game, but a battle for life and death.
"We need to first determine who the stalker is," Lucy said softly, "and then decide our next move based on the specific situation."
-"Yeah, if we don't even know who the other party is, then we'll be completely blind when we start fighting," echoed a man watching.
-"After all, what we fear most is the person who secretly does evil." Another woman whispered, with a hint of worry in her eyes.
Ivan nodded. "I suggest we split up into teams. We can send a few people to investigate the enemy's whereabouts. Meanwhile, the others will be responsible for protecting the map and continuing to research the treasure."
Carlos nodded in agreement. "Indeed. However, considering that they might have experts among them, we'd better proceed with caution."
Just as everyone was discussing, Leon suddenly broke the silence: "How about I go? I'm more familiar with this kind of thing."
The silver-armored warrior frowned slightly. "Are you sure? Don't forget that our main mission is to find the treasure."
-"Don't worry! I promise I'll be back soon."
-"That's right, he is a master!" Someone in the crowd shouted, causing a burst of laughter and immediately easing the tense atmosphere.
Lucy looked at her determined and brave friend. "Alright, but be careful. We can't afford to lose another one of you."
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the camp, mysterious figures lurked in the shadows, quietly approaching. One of them, dressed in black robes, whispered, "It looks like they've noticed our presence."
-"It seems that we can't be careless in this operation. We have to be more cautious." The person next to him responded in a low voice.
As the first rays of sunlight pierced the clouds and shone across the wilderness, the adventuring team was ready to set out. Each one carried their sharpest weapon, their hearts burning with fighting spirit. However, they also understood that the road ahead was filled with unknown dangers, and no one could guarantee a safe return.
As the group gradually moved away from their original location, the enemies that had been hiding in the dark corners began to move. They followed closely behind, trying to seize every opportunity to cause trouble for this brave team. The air was filled with a tense and oppressive atmosphere, as if the whole world was watching the changes that were about to take place.
At that moment, Leon returned from his reconnaissance mission, his face grim. "Everyone, listen carefully," he said in a low voice. "I've found a few possible hiding places, but we need further confirmation."
Lucy took over the conversation. "Then let's split into two groups. One group will be responsible for searching for information, while the other will stand by here and wait for the support signal."
Just as everyone was about to split up and act according to the plan, a deafening roar suddenly came from deep in the woods. Immediately afterwards, the ground shook violently several times, as if some giant monster was approaching them.
-"Oh no! Something seems to be coming over there!" A passerby shouted in panic.
-"Hide quickly! Don't get discovered!" another bystander shouted.
Carlos gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, his eyes fixed on the front. "Looks like we need to solve the problem at hand first," he said to Lucy. "Get ready for battle."
Lucy nodded, drew her sword, and took a determined step toward the unknown threat heading their way. "Whatever lies ahead, we must face it."
As the distance between the two sides continued to shorten, the battle was about to break out. Everyone held their breath, waiting for what might happen next.
-"Come on! Don't lose!" A little kid loudly cheered for the heroes in his heart.
-"I hope they can all come back here safely..." his mother prayed softly.
At this moment, everyone, whether at the center of the battle or observing from the periphery, watched the impending conflict with varying emotions. And in the distance, a pair of eyes silently observed the scene, waiting for the moment to deliver the final, fatal blow. So, what would happen next?
-"Alas, I don't know if these people can hold on..." An old man sighed, shaking his head.
"In short, everything depends on fate," another pedestrian replied helplessly. Led by Leon, the team began to move quickly to their designated location. The air was filled with an oppressive atmosphere, as if the entire forest was shrouded in an invisible pressure.
-"Wow, look how brave they are!" a bystander murmured in admiration, with a gleam in his eyes.
-"Hopefully they'll succeed this time..." his friend responded softly.
"Leon, are you sure the enemy's base is nearby?" Lucy frowned and looked around vigilantly.
Leon nodded and pointed to a ruin in the distance. "Based on my observation, that's most likely their hiding place. But we need to act carefully so as not to alert them."
At the same time, the crowd lurking in the shadows also noticed their movements. "It seems the target has been locked. Prepare and wait for the opportunity to strike," the man in the black robe said in a low voice.
-"Understood! We have to stabilize our position first." An accomplice beside him responded softly.
Just as everyone was on high alert, the silence was shattered by the sound of hurried footsteps. A little boy came running down a side path, his face filled with panic. "Big sister, come and help! Someone's attacking our village!" He gasped, tears threatening to fall.
Lucy was startled when she heard this and quickly comforted the child. "It's okay, we'll go help. Can you lead the way?"
-"Really? Why don't these people even let the villagers go?" Angry shouts came from the crowd.
-"Yeah, that's so cruel..." the person next to him echoed.
Ivan looked at Lucy and said, "We must act immediately. Although this was not our original plan, saving lives is more important."
Carlos patted the little boy's shoulder to show his comfort, and then said to his teammates, "I agree. Lucy will lead some people to the rescue, and the rest of you will follow me to guard the rear."
