Meanwhile, Zhou Hu arrived at Putao with the bulk of his column. Under the coordination of the US liaison group, a large amount of supplies were airlifted to this secret location in the mountains. Huang Wei, deputy commander of the New First Army, requested permission from Stilwell and Zheng Dongguo to dispatch elite personnel to support the guerrilla column, which they approved.
