A few days later, Cheng Yuwei walked into the study room early in the morning and saw Ling Xiaotian with a frown on his face and a serious expression, holding a secret report in his hand. She approached quietly and asked in a low voice, "What happened?"

Ling Xiaotian handed over the secret report and said in a serious tone, "You will understand after reading it."

Over the next few days, Cheng Yuwei carefully observed the mansion, interacting with the servants and guards daily, trying to find any suspicious clues. On the surface, she acted as usual, but in fact, she was secretly watching for any unusual behavior.

Soon, she noticed a new female guard. She appeared respectful, but she kept moving closer to Ling Xiaotian, acting somewhat awkwardly. Cheng Yuwei took note and decided to continue observing without alerting anyone.

A few days later, Cheng Yuwei, under the pretext of inspecting the palace's security forces, took the female guard to a secluded courtyard. She feigned casual inquiries about the guard's background, and she responded calmly, seemingly without a single flaw. Cheng Yuwei snorted coldly, signaling the guards who had been lying in ambush to take action, and the female guard was captured in an instant.

After a period of interrogation, the female guard finally revealed the enemy's whereabouts under Cheng Yuwei's witty questioning.

Cheng Yuwei smiled lightly, a trace of fatigue flashed in her eyes, but she said firmly: "No matter when, as long as I am by your side, I am willing to take all risks."

Ling Xiaotian was moved by her deep affection. He gently put his arm around her shoulders and said softly, "Yuwei, I'm no longer alone with you by my side. No matter how difficult the future may be, we will face it together."

The starlight fell on them, and the tranquility of this moment seemed to isolate them from all the disturbances in the outside world, making them feel extremely safe in each other's warm company.

However, just as they were sitting in each other's arms, urgent news came from the palace - the enemy leader seemed to have learned of the capture of the female guard and was planning a larger action.
